((I was gonna have us fight off these guys and then enter the last nebula stretch where we'd get messed up by interceptors)).
"Looks like we're clear for the time being," Kefka said as he reduced weapon power and bolstered the shields just slightly.

"Now, it'd be nice if we were clear all the way to Hoth," Zendia replied.
(( Were ints around in that era? ))

((yup, just in smaller numbers))
Gendis sighed, but remained alert. "I have a bad feeling about this. I wouldn't count on it, Zendia."

((personally, I was going to have nothing even bother us in the Nebula, but since FP is choreographing the battle, its under his jurisdiction.))
Orrin just laughed. "I'm wondering why an ISD isn't here yet. Short range fighters like that don't just sit here for no purpose, and with nobody jamming the communications back on that frigate, we should be great targets..."

Gendis nodded, though no one else could see the gesture. "That was my thought as well. There should at least be one SD, or maybe a fighter-carrier..."

"There should be..but there isn't. Maybe they got lost. After all, this is a hyperspace crossroads." Kefka said as they entered the last stretch of the nubla where the dust and gas got thicker.

Zendia brought her own X-wing forming up with Kefka. "This shall be no picnic, methinks, imps or no imps," she commented, noticing the thick cloudiness of the nebula.

"Couldn't the nebula be messing with our sensors? Or maybe theirs?" Azure asked.

"Imps aren't that stupid," Gendis retorted. "I dealt with plenty of them before I joined the Rebellion, and their sensor arrays are top notch. They're probably getting some kind of reading, if not from us, then the Nebulon-B. Perhaps the nebula is only preventing visual confirmation, although their laser sensors should be picking us up."

Zendia brought herself to cruise through the cloudy nebula. "We should definetely be ready for anything. Those fighters had to come from somewhere, unless, of course, the Imps have a base of some sort on Hoth that we don't know about?"

"If they do have a base on Hoth, those Pirates failed to tell us. That would be like walking into a trap. Actually it is." Azure responded to Zendia's comment.

"I'm sure they sent a scouting party in before." Kefka said as the swirling dust and gas of the nebula thickened and billowed. It was quite beautiful, but yet quite deadly.
Soon, it thinned and when the convoy emerged, they were back in realspace.
Not too far ahead was a giant white ball of ice.
"Don't tell me that's it..."

Zendia looked ahead, taking in the huge white ball of ice. "Boss, would this be this 'Hoth' place everyone's talking about?"

"Yes," Gendis answered. "I heard about this base from some mercenaries. It's no wonder they were willing to give it up so easily. Everyone remember to bring their blankies?"

"It's a block of ice!" Azure commented. "How are we soppused to set up a base there?" she asked.
