Kallisto, weary from Botany class, made her way into the Auditorium where the next class was to be held. It seemed awfully boring, this history, and she hoped that time would pass quickly. As it was she had only a few questions about history - mostly inspired by the events that had transpired in her as of yet young Empyrean life.

Ahead, she spotted a Three, similar to one of the Gatekeepers who had escorted them not to long ago. Curious, she followed this Three until she realized this was probably their Professora. How interesting! With a few of the students in her class, she slipped in once the older Empyrean had settled in and took a seat midway between front and back.

User ImageAstaroth, winded and more then a little anxious, found his way into a seat and watched the front with his hands clasped in his lap. The encounter during Botany had most definitely ruffled his feathers. In the face of danger he'd done nothing more then run.... Had something gone wrong he would not have been able to protect Danna, or the others for that matter. He wasn't strong enough to truly fight hand to hand and while rather agile and flexible, the melancholy knew speed wouldn't always win.

Once again, he fell back on the vision of magic he'd developed and sighed. As a zero he couldn't cast magic and so he would have to wait... his studies were progressing well, there was no choice but to continue studying as he had been to grow, access new knowledge, and most of all to begin tinkering with magic. Which meant that despite his weariness he had to attend History. It sounded promising and he only hoped it wouldn't involve any more field trips.

------

Still high on adrenaline from the encounter with the monsters, Daggart fairly bounced into the room and plunked down into a chair off to one side. Copper eyes scanned the area, drank it in and his marvelous imagination turned it into a den of monsters, all lurking and ready to strike. And the Three that stood before the assembling class was a fierce warrior standing proud and regal, ready to fend off the hordes of monsters.

Grinning, he set his hand on his chin and drifted off into a daydream. The centaurian Gatekeeper had been inspiring, really, and he wondered what it might be like to one day be as strong and capable as he had been.

Yambati caught sight of Kallisto off in the distance, marking her familiar burgundy hair. He quickened his pace slightly, only to have a bony skull nudge his legs.

"I can't go that fast!" Hien complained, hopping in front of him, bringing him to a halt.

"Which is why you're not coming with me. I told you to stay at home," he muttered, rolling his eyes, pointing behind him. "Go."

Hien pouted slightly, then walked past him, back the way they'd come, flicking her tail. "Fine, but you had best be back soon. I get lonely!"

Sighing and shaking his head, Yambati hurried off, finally catching up to Kallisto once he'd entered the Auditorium. He touched her elbow, lightly, a faint smile on his face.

"This seat open...?"

--

Biwa came a little bit later, once Tamerind had already entered the room. She hurried along, books clutched tight to her chest. She was still working, when she had time, on her hybrid design... even if she doubted that she would ever have enough courage to bring it to Professora Quenda.

Danna made her way into the room. She'd refrained from returning to the classroom after the fiasco with the Mandrake Harvest, and instead when straight to her quarters to wind down and nap for a little while. She was feeling much refreshed now, and in far better spirits. She made her way into the classroom and swept the room quickly looking for Astaroth. There he was, sitting not quite as erect as usual. She wondered if the ordeal was still on his mind. She took the strap of her satchel in hand and made her way down the steps of the auditorium to find a seat beside him. "'Taroth, you doing alright?" She whispered discretely, leaning in to him so that others wouldn't overhear. She knew how proud he was, and that he'd not like tohers to know if he was hurting.

Cyphr came gallumping into the room with heavy boot-steps. He'd come back after Botany excited and frightened and thrilled all at once. In the mess of turmoil in the aftermath of the attack, he had missed that they might attend class for further information and had instead gotten lost in the library looking for information on ....he forgot what.

Time for class, now! Was Jakov here?? Cyphr looked and looked but didn't see him anywhere. But he did see Daggart, so he stomped his way down the stairs to his friend and plunked himself into a seat. "Hulluh, Dagat!!"

She jumped when Yambati touched her and looked up, eyes narrowed with hand fisted. Kallisto had been thinking about their mandrake harvest and his sudden touch had startled her. With an apologetic look, the sanguine gave Yambati a broad smile and shifted over, "Of course." She reached up and took his hand, glad he was there.

-----

Astaroth turned his head to regard the owner of the familiar voice, "Hmm?" He sounded distant, lost in thought until her words clicked and he nodded, a mask of cool confident sliding over his features. "I'm fine, no need to worry." He corrected his posture and patted the seat beside him, offering her a smile. There was no point in worrying her about troubles he had... he could handle them on his own.

-------

Daggart looked up as Cyphr plunked down beside him and grinned in greeting, "Hello! You look full of energy!" Granted, Daggart was too. So perhaps this class wouldn't be horribly boring.

Yambati quirked a brow at her tensing. He'd calmed down since the Botany field trip, and returning to class after it hadn't brought back bad memories, so he couldn't quite sympathize. But he did smile reassuringly at her, sit down by her, squeezed her hand.

"Still on edge?" he murmured.

Now that the break from going on the Botany adventure was done, Ubel hurried to catch up with his classmates as they shuffled their way to History class. He was a tad worried about what things would be like, how this class would progress, because reading some of the books on his own would be fun. He feared having a boring professor, who would drone the history of Empyrean rather than teach the class in a manner of delight. He sighed and adjusted his hold on his books, squirming a little as he peered into the classroom.

Lior was already there, finding himself oddly eager to get to class, which baffled him. He hadn't thought himself the learning type. But here he was, sliding his way into the room and quickly finding himself a seat, plopping down and promptly beginning to watch the other students, observing interaction and waiting for Cashimer to show up so he could have interactions of his own.

Danna nodded silently, not remotely convinced. Still, this was not the time nor place to push things, and moreover, Danna was never the pushy type. Instead she unbuckled her satchel and set to laying out her school things. Notebook, Quill, Ink. She looked down and observed the Professora in detail for really the first time since she'd entered the room and made a few curious sketches in the margin with a battered stick of conté.

Cyphr nodded, pleased and stretched his arms over his head. "Whassis class for anyway?" He piped loudly, garnering a harsh look from the Choleric Professora. "Oof..." Muttered Cyphr lowly, hunching forward over his desk. She was a little Intimidating, this Tamerind. He didn't want another Bellona incident, being kicked with those feet however less pointy than Bellona's stilletos would undoubtably hurt something fierce.

"Kind of..." She replied, sitting a little closer to him, "Wasn't what I expected of that class, that's for sure." She smiled fondly as she folded her other hand over his, "You'll lead quite the exciting life I think, once you further your studies in botany."

Laughing softly, she patted his hand and sat back.

-----

Astaroth nodded when Danna did and adjusted his already laid out supplies. When she started taking notes even before the professora had started talking, he glanced over at her page... only to find she was doodling. "Have you taken up sketching as a hobby?" He asked mildly, tilting his head. That stick of conté looked awfully well worn.

-----

"I... have no idea." He admitted easily, smiling and running a hand through his hair, ruffling it so it stood up a little straighter. Daggart too shrunk a little under that gaze and his sheepish look intensified. "I hope it's fun." He added in a clandestine manner, grinning at Cyphr.

Arwen arrived a little later, not quite caught in the bustle of class as she had been previously. She was not terribly worn nor weary from the previous ordeal as many of the others undoubtably were; no, she simply had much to think on, and most of it was over the people she had met and what it would mean if something out there threatened her safety of in here...

It was with these strange and convulted thoughts that the dark Melancholy took a seat near the door, laying out her notebook and inkwell methodically. The girl hadn't even bothered to look at the Professora just yet, still withdrawing from her personal thought-cloud.

"In antiquity there were countries comprised of many many cities." Tamerind began without introduction and without ado. "The nations were composed all of the same race, the very ansestral race of both the Empyreans and the Outsiders. And yet, despite their collective lineage, these ancient nations were constantly at war with this group or that, this country or that tribe... Truly war has not stopped even now." Tamerind pawed the floor softly with a forehoof and glanced about the room.

"Our topic today will be these very wars, since the threat of it lies to imminent upon our fair City. Can anyone define A State of War, by the Empyrean Code?" Tamerind asked crisply, peering over the rim of her glasses at the students expectantly.

Danna glanced sideways a little sheepishly. "Not sketching for the sake of sketching... Just jotting down some ideas that might be useful in HYbrids or Golems to be." Danna offered a more hopeful and slgihtly-more confident smile then and then turned her attention forward as the Professora unexpectedly began an oratory.

Cyphr pursed his lips at the teacher, thinking. "she doesn't look very fun..." He murmured dubiously. And then the Professora began to speak of ancient peoples and war. Hrm, Cyphr thought to himself, it's rather like storytime... Cyphr liked storytime, perhaps it wouldn't be too bad after all?

User ImageAstaroth's lips quirked into a bemused smile, wondering if the professora would be at all appreciative of such a comment. He couldn't blame Danna, however, for making notes on the curious teacher. Shaking his head, the melancholy inhaled deeply and turned to his own notes, attention focused on the Three below as she began the lecture.

War, he titled the section of notes and below that jotted down the question. He wasn't sure of this one and so, rather then make a fool of himself with an incorrect answer Astaroth opted to remain silent.

----------------

User ImageDaggart shrugged, not entirely agreeing, "She's like that Gatekeeper with the fieldtrip... don't you think? Although..." He trailed off as his voice dropped low, "I wonder if she can fly with all those wings..." The Choleric eyed her wings, all tucked neatly against her back and shook his head. That would be something to see...

He fell silent, however, as she began to speak. War... ancient peoples... tribes... he tilted his head curiously. This actually sounded neat. Too bad he had no idea what a state of war was otherwise he'd answer immediately - to get the story going again.

"I suppose I might," he replied, smirking. He gave her hand a squeeze, then let it go to take out his books, opening his notebook and jotting down a few things as the Professora began to teach.

--

Biwa took a seat next to Arwen, since it was a person that she recognized. She hoped that Elanin would show up, as well, and find her way over. She smiled, shyly, over at the Melancholy girl and took out her notes. She wrote down a few things... but she quickly turned to doodling, as always.

Aysel rushed in just as the Professora had finished speaking, and she quickly sunk into the closest seat, grabbed for her things to take notes, and murmured an apology to the Professora and to her classmates. Her cheeks felt warm, and her hands shook...she hadn't meant to be late, but somehow she'd found herself short on time...she hoped that the Professora wouldn't be too angry with her. But now, what was Tamerind asking? About what a State of War was? Raising a trembling hand, Aysel called out softly "Is a State of War not when the Laws of the City can be temporarily suspended for the sake of the survival of the City? When all Empyreans must put their efforts into keeping it alive, in any way they can, even at the cost of some of their lives?"

Sombre had sneaked in at one point, seating herself on the floor behind her classmates. Scalpel sat in her lap, but no class materials were before her. She smiled and giggled softly, shaking her head hard at Aysel's answer. "War is Peace", she corrected her, "Peace is War...War is Creation in reverse. The City bleeds, and who can quench the flow, but a foreign bandage, an outside-thing. Bindings and bleedings, the City in Shock, the Outside is coming In. Who will save the Heart?"

Predictably, Mat came into class late, glancing around to see if anyone he knew was here. When he didn't immediately see someone, he went and just sat in an empty seat, pulling out a notebook as the Professora started talking. So ... she was going to talk about war..?

Huh. Well, that sounded halfway interesting... Kind of doodling in his notebook, he scribbled down War at the top and waited to see if this would be good or not.

Morrow had actually gotten to class on time, but he hadn't been (and still wasn't) paying much attention. Where Mat was just doodling in his notebook, Morrow had started to sketch the people around him, including Tamerind. He didn't care all that much about war, but he scribbled a couple of tiny notes in the margin of his paper anyway.

Emrys winced slightly at the topic. For some reason, it made him nervous ... and he wished that Arron was here. But he hadn't seen the other come in yet, and figured the redhead would probably be late. Sighing softly, the blond started to take neat little notes, hunched over his notebook slightly as if he was trying to hide.
