Mantis watched people, coming and going, names hovering above their head. So other people where playing this game too? She hoped it was a game. For the most part playing along would be the best part.
So she flipped her sword over onto her shoulder marching up to the main sign. Siddie always said follow the yellow markers they lead to quests right? The sign started rambling about finding trees so Mantis moved to find a tree.
The first had many signs pointing every which way. Left and right, right and left up and down. All around and every which way. A frown crossed his face.
"Well this is.... really dumb." He tapped one sign turning to follow it what he assumed would be left but he wasn't entirely sure where it would take him next.

3: You reach a tiny tree and it looks up at you and only has a row of smiling teeth. "Guess what I'm hiding!"
If you cater to it then it tells you "I'm hiding something in my mouth!" It sticks out its mouth and lo and behind it is a fragment! +1 Fragment.
If you don't guess the tree looks disappointed. "Oh, okay..." It does not give you a fragment.
Approaching another tree, OCTOPU55Y realized it was similar to the first one she encountered. The words, "Guess what I'm hiding!" were responded to with the words-- "A fragment," And immediately it smirked and opened its mouth. Small fist pump, and OCTO patted its bark, giving it a soft smile and leaving.

The next tree he stumbled on was a Willow, he was noticing a change in the way the trees appeared. Some where really different eyes and mouths, the Willow was one of the unique ones. The closer she moved to it the more it lashed at him, tendrils lashing at him pushing him back and almost rendering his sword useless. Darn card system wouldn't let him engage the tree!

7: You reach a tree stump and it isn't able to talk because it is a tree stump. It makes a great item for sitting though.
Deciding to take a rest, OCTOPU55Y decided to sit down on a stump for a little while-- what an uneventful starter quest. She would've at least added a little bit of thrill into it... She pursed her lips-- if she had designed it, it wouldn't have been so boring. Hm... Well, it is the beginning. She shouldn't judge it too hard, but huh... Hm. Looking down at the stump, she observed it's rings, millions littered between the core and the inside. She touched it softly-- How calming... She was tempted to even fall asleep there-- until she received a little ping!, signifying a part of a quest completed. ...It's part of the quest...?"...But... It isn't even alive..." She said, gaining no response. She sighed. Huh, Alright then. Getting up, she went on her way to find one last tree worth her presence.

That was all that VoiceofNature could think, as she slowly let herself take the smallest of steps to look at the amazing surroundings she now found herself in. The tree's were so intriguing, that she found herself almost hypnotized by their grandeur, drawing the Caterpillar classed, and clad, noobie over to them. Her hands lifted to gently pet the trunks ever so gently, and respectfully, fawning over them and not giving much care should others in her same position saw. How could she simply ignore such vibrant, different towering beauty's like these? Feeling a sense of comfort and rather content with the company of her common friends, VoiceofNature only then started to take note to what else was in the area, olive green eyes scanning about to try and seek out the faint trickle of music that wafted in the air. Was there someone else nearby? perhaps a civilization, oh or maybe a party of sorts? Oh dear, hopefully she wasn't going to ruin it. But she was curious... and so with a farewell to her plant friends, she started on her way to follow the tempting sound, cloak dragging lightly behind her.... and in that time began to inspect the odd get up she had on, as though she hadn't noticed it before! It was a lot more cloth than she was used to wearing, but she wasn't going to complain. It just felt a little more... heavy, weighted on her, not as light or free as she once felt. But there surely was some reason for wearing such garb in a place like this. Protection? it didn't offer much except from the elements. Fingers playing along the fluffy trim adoringly, it was also in that moment that she felt quite.... naked, at the same time. Once companions she had with her at all times were no longer with her, fluttering about, or clinging to her body and pieces of cloth. It was an odd feeling, not having them with her... she'd been so used to their company that they had seemingly become another part of her all together. Where were they now...? Unveiled, false eyes flickered about her surroundings in search of her winged companions, only to find their cousins flitting about here and there, which did create a gentle smile on her lips. Well... maybe she'd get to create new friends while she was here. It was an exciting thought, really. So far these woods seemed rather barren, holding only the sea of tree's that were at every turn and each way you looked. They were quite different from the ones she was akin to back home, as well. Something was... "off" about them. Yet it wasn't enough to deter the rather curious ghoul. In fact, she was intrigued, if anything. After all, there wasn't much that could deter VoiceofNature. Each new experience was a chance for new knowledge and new experiences! And this opportunity was no different!

The next tree was much smaller, this one seemed to be wiggling side to side curiously and seeming rather odd. Crouching down he sheathed his sword tilting his head. "We'll you're a little tree aren't you."
"Guess what I'm hiding!"
Mantis paused, wasn't this the pat of the game where a box popped up and they picked the option Siddie said would get the ending they wanted?
For a while he stood there frowning, "Ummm I guess...." He frowned more, so he had to just guess? It was a puzzle? Oh oh tree's had roots underground!
"Your roots under ground!"
"Nope! I'm hiding something in my mouth!"
The small tree opened wide spitting a small fragment into Manti's hand. Slowly he blinked collecting the shard "T-thanks?" He got up slowly walking away as the tree happily chirped goodbye.
Well this game was weird. He never thought he would miss Siddie's silly dating games as much as he did now.

Three times, she had encountered the same type of tree. Was that a glitch in the system? Well, it wasn't harming her actually, so it was alright. But still."Guess what I'm hiding!" It asked, but OCTOPU55Y just groaned. "Something important to my quest," She said, more of a statement than a guess, and the tree just sniggered and stuck out its tongue like the others a white fragment on its tongue. Huh-- does each tree have one of these in it's mouth...? She sighed. Whatever. She was done with her 5 trees. Making her way back to the wayfinder, she hoped that the next quest it gave was more worthwhile-- This felt more like a waste of time. Reaching her destination, she felt slightly stronger-- did she just gain a level?

"How does one... Find their way and not find their way? I would think that a wayfinder would be a bit more useful than that." She huffed softly, casting a glare upon the sign post. It did not offer her any additional assistance, however. Why would it? It had already stated its purposes...
Anyways, exploration was something that she had done before, only it had been as Rae and not 'Dae'. It was an interesting sensation, being someone else again... Being somewhere else, really. This dream was much better than the last. At least in this dream she was able to retain some of her favorite colors.
She gave a small salute to the sign post before making her way towards the first tree to her left... A crying tree, it was probably a mistake. It was needy and wanted help; time that she wasn't certain that she wanted to spend.
"I'm sorry, I don't think your glasses are anywhere to be found." The tree continued to cry, but she couldn't be bothered by that. She said simply, tossing her scarf over her shoulder before continuing on her way, leaving the sound of the sobbing tree behind.

Oh her way towards the enchanting music, VoiceofNature found an curious sign that had her pause to inspect. Following one of its directions, she came across a very... odd tree... with stripes. Now THAT was a first! giving it a shake, she was surprised to see what popped out of it!

"Hello," says the long slender tree. "I have a small question. I have two friends, Dilly, Milly, and Nilly. Nilly is taller than Dilly, but shorter than me. Dilly is shorter than Milly but taller than me. How tall am I?"
Her eyes went wide for a brief moment as the next tree began to talk as if it were preparing her for an equation. There was something wrong with it, though. It wasn't providing her with all of the necessary information needed to complete the process.
That made the second tree seem even more irritating than the first and served as a rather strong reminder that Aldara had absolutely no patience for nonsense unless she was the one spouting it.
She pondered fully the odds of giving the tree 'what for' and then settled on simply eying the tree over, mentally assessing its height before turning away, letting the jibes it spouted roll right off her back. She did not need it's nonsense when, thanks to this place, she was filled with her own.

Pumcat's path seemed to be well choosen because as she continued down her choosen path she came across a rather odd looking tree one that had of all things stripes!
She stops and stares in awe at the strange tree "What a silly tree" she finally says in a playful tone however the tree obviously didn't think it was silly and told her as much "I am not silly!" it says defensively her eyes widen as she realized she found another sentient tree "Oh! Im sorry! I didn't mean to offend you!" she says apologetically followed by a short bow the tree seemed to forgive her and in turn had a request for her
"Shake you?" she repeats after listening to him she found the request odd but couldn't see why she shouldn't so she nods and smiles "Ok!" she churps cheerfully then takes a firm hold of the tree and begins shaking it for all her worth
The tree did indeed begin to change colors and soon was laughing hysterically the laughter was infectious and before long she too was laughing both laughed together until a object fell from the tree's mouth and plunked her lightly on the head reluctantly she stops shaking the tree and bends down to see what the object was it looked almost like a Fragment of some kind "A fragment?... wait... A Fragment!" She says happily and scoops up the Fragment
After looking the Fragment over for a moment she smiles and pops it into her coat pocket then beams up at the smiling tree "Thank you!" she chirps happily "And thank you in turn" the tree says while trying to stop laughing but not being very successful and nods she returns the nod then turns and begins heading down the path "Bye!" she calls back and turns while waving then turns forwards again and heads on a light spring to her step as she does
Once she could no longer hear the distent laughing of the stripped tree she stops as a thought came to mind "Hey... wasn't that my 5th tree?" she asks herself then runs a mental checklist 'Cheshire Cat's tree, Violent tree, Walking tree, Sign tree, and Stripped tree... yup thats five!' she thinks happily "I better go tell Wayfinder! ...If I can find Wayfinder..." she says then looks at her choosen path "Well this path has been lucky so far so maybe it'll get me out" she says then nods resolutely and continues down the path
The path didn't fail her and led her right out of the forest almost right at where she went in "Im out!" she cheers then looks for the sign upon spotting him she runs over and tells it about the tree's she found there was a moments pause and she hoped the two non senitent tree's counted but to her relief she heard alittle victory sound "Congratulation! Quest Complete!" Wayfinder says Pumcat also heard another victory sound she looks up and see's her Level change from 1 to 2 "Yay! I leveled up!" she cheers then bounces out of the way so other people could get to the sign
Once she calmed down a bit she begins looking around wondering what was next "Hm... maybe I should just wander around until I find something" she says to herself which was usually the best course of action in a open world game so with that she begins wandering around
