"I will see her again." Not happiness or sadness, just acceptance. The same conviction, quietly waiting in his voice. "It is only a matter of time."

He offered Amarus a proud salute. "I will not forget your valor, Herald. You have done well."

And to Maple, perhaps the most awkward pat on the back in the history of the seven kingdoms. "It is the trials we face that make us who we are. You did not turn away from them, and that is what matters in the end."

"But, that is a thought." The Black King smoothed his ink-black cloak and thought, turning back toward the not-Moon Amrita. "I must wonder, though. We truly are fragments, nothing more than the sum of memories and dreams. All that I am, is already an aspect of him, a fragment of a whole. I live, perhaps I have always lived, on both sides of this strange mirror of reality."

"Tell him he was a King," the Shadowlord mused. "And that he could yet be the greatest King of all, if he wished."

"...But then again, if he is anything like myself, he already knows."

Relieved at the wordless gesture, Millie smiled to the what-was-once-an-enemy.

Kingdom alliances didn't matter in this... area. What was wronged needed to be put right. Even if Millie didn't have the words or nerve to do so.
The implied progress gave Millie the boldness to seek others.

She breathed out slowly as she pressed her forehead against his even more. Jay closed her eyes briefly as he leaned in a second time for a second kiss. “I love you too,” she murmured back while she tucked a strand of his hair behind his ear. Half-lidded eyes stared into Senga’s before she buried her face into the crook of his head. “I should’ve told you sooner, I’m sorry.” But later was better than never. A hand trailed down to lace her fingers with Senga’s.

And just like that, he had been given one last chance. One, final moment to say good bye and come to terms with the inevitable. Gargantuan found himself staring at the members of his Family--people he loved and respected.

Or did he, really?

The big man stared at them all, quietly contemplating before, one by one, he would pull each and every person into a back-breaking hug. They'd be lifted off their feet, unless they resisted.

"Not gonna say good bye." He growled under his breath into their hair. "Good bye's too final. Not good with good byes." Or... well, he guessed that was fake, too. But the white pillar had been right. He could feel, and that alone was enough to convince him that not everything had been fake. His love and devotion to his Family? All real.

Candace earned a soft, amused huff of breath. "Don't. Saw the real me, and let me tell you, he's a real dog. Don't try and kiss him none, neither."

His gaze shifted to Rep now, becoming something a bit more grave. "Means a lot, from a man like you. Take care of everyone--wherever you all end up. They're gonna need you."

The twins were next, and G swept Ying and Jing into an arm each. "Craziest siblings I ever met." It was an affectionate statement. "Gonna miss you both." A lot.

Sera was scooped up soon afterwards, and Gargantuan simply held the woman close for a time. "Learned a lot 'bout you, even if we only knew each other for a real short time." It was a sigh.

Melvin, or more importantly, Saliva was next. An awkward smile pulled at the big man's face and, gingerly, he'd take her hand if only to press his lips to the backs of her fingers. "Guess we're never gonna get that drink together after all. Sorry, toots."

Andrew earned a tight embrace as well, but G remembered that the young man didn't like being touched for long. "You're a good kid," He said gruffly. "Strong. Knew you'd fit in good with the Family."

For a long time, Gargantuan only watched Nuk, trying to think up words to say. They didn't come. "You're real inspirin', you know?" He finally said, clapping a heavy hand on the other's shoulder. "Made me... Made me feel like I could do somethin' with myself. Was real nice."

Riyo was taken under an arm. "Real glad you didn't have to sacrifice yourself, even if we're all... well. Never couldda forgiven myself. You're special to me, kid, for whatever that's worth."

Sammy would also be dragged in, whether she wanted to or not. "The one girl who I always know has my back. Never gonna forget that. Ever."

And last, but certainly not least, Taima. The big man had an unusually soft, if fond smile on his face. "One tough cookie. Always thought that about you. Never was as strong as you, maybe, but we made a good team. Even if it was just you haulin' my fat a** up some stairs."

When his goodbyes were said, G turned to look at Harrison, his expression both resigned and content at once. "Long live the King."

He was ready, now.

And with that, he was gone.

Sigrún just smiled and nodded as everyone spoke their parting words to each other. When she and Moriko finally had a moment to themselves Momo began speaking. Sig's smile softened and a slight blush creeped across her cheeks.
"I don't want to lose you either." She replied quietly in response to Momo. With another smile she told her
"As long as we have this final moment together regardless of what happens...it was all worth it."

He visibly relaxed more and more under each word until his shoulders were slack and his mouth was grinning in a lopsided way that shouldn't have been seen on someone more regal in the position; but it still found its way to be even for the kiss, gentle and grateful and with hidden bitterness that they did not have more time.

"Ah . . ." A thought came to him as he pressed their foreheads together, wanting one last good look of those pink eyes he adored. "One more thing. Before I came here, I saw the true Mort be freed from . . . some sort of glass prison. I imagine he'll be waking soon in your world. He seems a bit more sad than I'd like." His mouth quirked. "Inwardly, at least, that was the feeling of it. You remember how I am, you know I can't have that. So, ah . . . Just know that all of this -" he gestured to himself with a sheepish look, "Had to come from somewhere, okay? He doesn't have to look so blue."

A joke had to escape him at some point so the emotion didn't overwhelm him.

Alexander nodded, his smile no less saddened, both by what had occurred here and by his undying want to just go home and have things be normal again. Still, this Mort deserved more then sadness. He was such an optimistic man, and the thief Alex was not so melancholy as all of this. So, when there was a window of opportunity to do so, he gave the King a clap on the shoulder, and pulled him in for a very manly bro hug. It was no pat on the a**, but it would have to do. He still had no idea what would happen to all of this when he left, but he had a glimmer of hope that they could all just...go on, and continue with their happiness. And if by some strange happenstance an alternate version of Alex would go on living as well, that he would find his own happiness as well.

Then, he took the time to go around to the rest of the Green court, and pull them into rough embraces as well. AJ, Eva, Lex, The Bard, Sin, and yes, he was even able to swallow his stubborn pride and hug Ofelia as well. After all, it wasn't the same Ofelia as he had become aquainted with in his own world. No, these were all friends of the thieves, and he at least owed them this much. Parting words, parting actions.

And then he just waited for the others to be ready to go.

To see him relax so well warmed her heart, made this easier at least for a moment. The press of his forehead made her look up at him, wide eyed as though she knew exactly what he wished for in that moment. But as he began to speak once more, Belladonna found them going wide for another reason entirely. Her Mort... He woke up? He was alright! Their efforts, her efforts, had not been in vain and he was ok! He was--
A bit more sad than I'd like.
That was it, that was really all it took to have the girl really crying now, her hands desperate to grab the Mort that was here and now her hope for the future into her arms and press him close. He was happy, he had been happy with her, it was possible.
It could happen. She just had to find a way to create such happiness.
"Just for you, I shall do my best." Belladonna managed to choke out between her sobs as she pressed her face into his shoulder, more happy than she had realized to have experienced this.
"I won't forget you, I won't forget this, and I'll make you happy again. I promise on my white rose that belongs to you."
For this truly would not be a love in vain.

Admittedly, it was odd to be alive again.

The Saga of Senator Arai the Komodo Dragon was not yet completed, it seemed, brought back into reality with the sound of Jing offering a fantastic cheer. The women of the Blue Kingdom. Yeah. That was who she was. A smile spread across her face as she attempted to get used to having her sensation in all of her limbs back, wiggling her fingers and her body in an attempt to assure herself it was there, and not dissolved into the void.

To Jing, when he finished, she lifted her fake glass and cheered aloud, a hearty, "To the Blue Kingdom!" making it from her lips. It was so easy to act like they had never been apart, that they hadn't been through so much, but they had, and even though she had died twice, she knew that. Together, they got through it. From the first moment she was in cahoots with The Boss to the moment at the bar after she had died the first time, to that adventure up the stairwell the second time...

These were the strongest people she knew.

Sure, they may have been a ragtag group of people who were mostly deplorable and likely belonged in a jail cell, to some extent herself included for such corruption and assistance to The Family, but in the end, that didn't matter. They were Family. She dared say that their technical immorality made them even closer, as they understood each other and protected each other in a way deeper than they would have otherwise. They were all in this together, absolutely, without a single doubt.

Serafina was happy to listen to the words that everyone said--and to be scooped up by Gargantuan, too, a hardy laugh making it from her lips as she swung her legs in the air. Naturally, she hugged him back, murmuring a, "You're strong, big guy," to him before he let her down. Her eyes wandered across those that were gathered, before she shook out her body and offered another raise of an invisible glass.

"To us!" declared Serafina, grinning. "The most unlikely of unlikely families, coming together through thick and thin no matter what the cost! Others may think that some of us are undeserved, or the scum of the Earth, but we know better. What we have here is a true love and affection for our fellow brother and sister," she looked at all of them, eyes stopping on every single one. "What we have here is a true bond that could never be broken by others, no matter how hard Voices tried. We ventured to the top of this Tower as a family, which shows how close we are. None of us goes this alone, not even now."

She tipped her fake glass. "Cheers, to The Greatest Family ever known, that we may stay together no matter what the circumstance. And to those who couldn't be with us."

Admittedly, she was a bit sad she couldn't take a fake drink, too.

To Harrison and B0nez, she nodded. "It's been an honor to work with you."

It really, truly was.

Suddenly, hugs. Everywhere.

Amrita moved from one to the next, trying to return each hug from each Shadow that saw fit to give her one after everything she had done. For a group in a world of Revenge, they were pretty sweet, weren't they? Amarus' tackle had her stumbling, but thankfully she was fairly used to being pounced on, therefore managed to keep on her own feet.

Whisper's request suddenly lept into four new ones, and the poor Vetala looked between them all, trying to memorize a face and a name to their request. It seemed simple enough, and they all seemed to be fairly similar; it was a lesson everyone should learn, or so she thought. Except for Aymet's, of course. That one had nothing to do with believing in yourself, not really; it seemed more like a threat or a promise than an encouragement. Either way she leveled a narrowed eye stare at him, debating whether or not she wanted to impart that knowledge to her dear friend.

"Alright." She sighed heavily, submitting to her own fate. "I guess." She really didn't want to tell Aymet that; she didn't want to lose her kind, goofy and strong friend. Not to a monster like this; a monster who, as much as she wanted to ignore it, had a very good point. It was possible Aymet could turn into him, and it was possible that she could turn into Moon...

...

...

Amrita cleared her throat nervously, shaking away such thoughts as she turned to the rest of them, who had also asked for her assistance. "I...I can't promise I'll be able to, but if I can, I will! I'll find you all eventually...and yes, boil, sandwiches, one day!" She assured them all, despite being buried in hugs and affections that really did touch across time and parallels. "I'm so sorry I caused so much trouble...I hope you're all going to be okay, and I hope you don't resent us for this. We just...really wanted our friend back..." Except for maybe Merope, but his reasons were as sound as theirs the more she thought on it.

After a bone crunching hug from G, Ying giggled and said, "I'm gonna miss the big guy." Even the bruises she now had on her ribs and arms.

She slid her right hand into Jing's left. "I think ... I'm ready." A look to the ceiling. "To go there. That other world."

Shaheen straightened at the pull on her arm, surprise flickering behind her gaze before her lips quirked up into a smirk. "It is I who have been honored. Here in your world...I finally felt like I had purpose again. You are a great ruler, and if I had the choice, I might have chosen to stay." It felt good to say it out loud, to admit what had been niggling away inside of her since she had awoken.

With her final words said, she stepped away as well. The rest of her friends were still saying their farewells, and that was fine. To her this chapter was complete. It was time to go home and begin a new one.

Molan's arms wrapped around his neck and he couldn't think clearly. Kashiyoru slowly set his love back down, if he couldn't think straight he may just fall backwards. Best not to bring Molan down with him. He laced his arms around Molan's waist and held him close. If this world was going to end now, he would be fine with it. He could hear the love in Molan's voice and feel it in his kisses. It was all Kashi needed. Right here. Right now. It would be just fine.

"I love you." Kashi gently nuzzled against his partners neck. It was the first time he'd ever said it. To anyone. He needed Molan to know. Not much time left and he'd be ashamed if Molan never knew just how he truly felt.

He slowly peered up and over Molan's shoulder to the young girl. He smiled. The first, real, smile he'd given her. She really was cute and it may of been threatening before, but now, it was just comforting.

Raja
This might be the only time Kashi ever says 'I love you'.

Despite being in his own world, Bastion heard the King, finally confessing to Lifen. He heard it, because his heart was the same as the King's, for each their own other half. And with that, he couldn't help but smile.

"What the King said." Bastion couldn't have put it better himself, so he just leaned in, and whispered that into Mjoll's ear. "Except for you."

He kissed the side of her head, and closed his eyes.
