Here is exactly our point though you realize? All of this commotion, and yet still no one has even thought to say "Hey, I wonder why they are upset". If you think that I have been disrespectful, then you an at least see how she was being so equally. That, is the point. A simple yes or no question was turned into an excuse to talk down on a new member. If you all are unwilling to at the very least acknowledge this, then I see no point in staying in this guild. I wish you all the best of luck in future situations and hope that Proto does not cost you this many members again. Good Bye.

No we understand why you are upset. The reason why I here is cause the manner you are acting is as I said DISRESPECTFUL and RUDE. Allow me to point out to you where you went wrong in the BOLDEST point I can make:

ele360
Hello Proto, my name is Ele.

I just want to say this in the most respectful way possible. For future reference, you have a very condescending nature about yourself. You seem to be under the impression that because of what ever status you hold in this guild that you are somehow better than anyone else that post here. Contrary to what you might believe, it is possible to speak to or reprimand someone without being insulting or offensive. If you care to read this post before the early stages of self defensive aggression kick in, I hope that you gain a better understanding of how your words are very often misleading and result in such break downs in communication.

Quote:
Sai: Sooooo, we are freely able to just not do it though, right? Especially if it would be against our character's personality?

You: Considering the point reward, it's quite generous. And also, I am not beyond failing someone for the Genin Exams.

In this statement you imply that the penalty for not turning in the homework assignment could be failing from the Genin exams all together. Sai simply asked you to clarify this and in the very first sentence of your response, you are already being condescending. You took a very simple yes or no question and turned it into another chance to show off just how highly you think of yourself. FYI: Irregardless is not a word

Quote:
Urban Dictionary (The only dictionary that would ever have this word)
1. irregardless 818 up, 244 down
A word used by uneducated people intending to sound intelligent. Often, the defendant will use this word in court in an attempt to impress the judge and jury. Educated people notice and those who use this word instantly identify themselves to educated people as being uneducated. Educated people rarely correct them because it helps educated people more easily identify them if they are well groomed.
Uh... yes your Honor.... Irregardless of the the evidence, I was not the young man in the security video.

Its fine to not agree with the crew, I too have butted head with Proto on many issues here relating from events to yes even the system itself. But all your post that's been bolded are things that were unessecary and again uncalled for. You don't have to agree with her on things but you are expected to show a bit of respect. And if you really don't like that, you can always leave. There the door. none of us are stopping you. But as a member of this guild, whether former crew or not, will not allow this attitude to slide. Proto may be patient and easygoing on this but not me. Nuh-uh HELL to the f**k no. So again as I said, show a little respect. Watch your tone, and have nice day. Final warning, don't f**king ruin your chances.

To answer the "it was just a yes or no question" bit... Most of us don't give a simple "yes" or "no" to answers anymore, because of the people we have dealt with over the past 6-7 years. Most people don't tend to understand and keep asking questions regarding similar situations, and blah, blah. blah... so we have made it a habit to give examples, emphasize, etc. in order to kill two birds with one stone.

As for Proto's vocabulary and how she words things... she does the same to crew in the crew forums, too. It's not a holier-than-thou thing, it's how she naturally talks. I have a room mate like it, too, and for both I sometimes have to ask for smaller words.

As for "irregardless," I hear college professors use it all the time... so, I think it's one of those words, like ain't, ginormous, and guesstimate that are slowly worming their way into day to day speech and "becoming" real words. I think ginormous actually made it into the dictionary recently...

^w^ Well, I learn something new every day... and here all I remember about ain't is the phrase "ain't ain't a word" growing up.

I'm sorry, maybe you didn't understand. Let me re-illiterate what my good friend was trying to tell you as kindly as possible in the most blunt of ways so even you may be able to wrap your minds around this... You guys have obviously warped yourselves into believing that because she talks down to you on a habitual basis that it is suddenly ok to talk to others in that manner. Please, I implore to STAHP. JUST STAHP. You are making her into no more than a self appeasing, holier-than-though, stuck up b***h and I for one will not just play nice with her. I am sorry that you expected me to get on my knees and beg her forgiveness and ask her to insult me in with her snide comments as though she's graciously giving me the best candy in the world.

Yeah, no. It's not happening. I asked her a simple question, she decided that it would be a wonderful time to talk to me in a condescending tone and expected me not to recognize it? Expected me not to respond in kind? You think to highly of her and yourselves. And so it becomes an issue when she catches feelings, oh well. This could have been a fun experience and we all could have been the most mightiest of pals but pardon my french when I say this but go ******** yourselves if any of us will stand to be patronized, degraded or harassed in any fashion and not retaliate.

So, my short lived friends, this was your final and last chance. Good bye. Good riddance. And peace out.

Being an a** does not help your case. If one instance is enough to make you this upset then go, we don't need your drama any more. If you're not even willing to get to know her, and beleive when you do she's a great person, then go.

For the record we did not tell you to appologize, we said to just move on. But no, you and Ele couldn't do that could you? You've decided to make noise and leave, childish in my opinion. You've could've tried a conversation with her in private, saying hey let's work this out, but you refuse to.

Well all I have to say on the manner is this: Respect is give and take, to get respect put into action things that are deserving of respect. I saw some major issues that arose from these little bouts of communication between proto, sai, and ele. It's not ok to direct someone to something when it's as simple as explaining it in a few words in your post.

I think that there should have been a stronger attempt on proto's part to sound a little more courteous to 'brand-new' members to this guild instead of assuming that they are absolutely ignorant as far as systems go. Instead all I really read was a person standing on a pedestal speaking down to what they thought were lesser beings.

Like you said, we are all young adults and ALL human. From what I saw was prejudice based upon past experiences you all had with some other members. I'm not sure if I can deal with this system that restricts the role play in light of a cut and paste D20. When did role plays get overwritten by a system that dictates their every action? I would have enjoyed making new friends and the like here but I'm not sure I'll be hanging around here, after all I was invited by Sai and Ele who both thought we could enjoy this as nice break and a potential to rebuild inspiration. So farewell to you guys and good luck with your endeavors for however long they can remain strung together.

TL;DR- Respect is something that is earned not given upon meeting based only on one's status. I'm not staying because Ele and Sai invited me here in the first place so I see no point in staying here. Good luck for as long as the guild can remain standing.

Well if you want to make friends and such you can certainly still do that here, if you go just because they did, aren't you restricting yourself because of them too? You are correct that it was a failure in communication, on both sides, and I would hate to see more new members be lost because of it.

As for the system it really only comes into play in combat, and other such missions. I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'dictates every action', could you enlighten me on that? I mean that in an entirely sincere way haha, I've certainly never felt restricted by it.

Well, that was.. interesting.

and don't forget the academy, its all over the academy.

So, I don't know if I have posted in here yet even once, I know my posts in chatter box were ignored, no I'm not putting that on anyone, I've just been feeling like that lately. Quite depressed.

Anyway I read what went down, and I am pretty sure nothing else needs said.

So, I want to ask a question if the dust has settled enough ^.^

I want a character with a focus on fire and explosives, kinda sorta like Deidara + Uchiha if that makes sense. I wanna make bombs and breathe fire.
Is there a bloodline that would be good for this? Also I'm not looking for doujutsu just fire only reason I said uchiha.

I think there was actually a Deidara clan, but I don't think it was ever updated to the current system.

It sure is grand to see the exact same conversations from new kids to old kids, despite the passing of years.

On that note... Pipe down so us geezers can sleep!
