Silver did the oddest thing. He quickly dropped to the ground as if he had been knocked over. Going into a backwards tumble, he dodged Reikos punch. He landed in a kneeling position, ready for Reiko's next move.

Discretly, he began to focus energy into his right hand.

"Stop running."

Reiko slowed down his attack pace and started weaving from left to right again. Then he slowly advanced forward to Silver, waiting for him to open himself up. Silver was using lots of magic so Reiko couldn't just run up on him.

So, we decided to capitalize on boxing...

((and Reiko... sorry I took so long to post. sweatdrop ))

Silver clenched his hands into fists. Putting them together, he pulled them apart. In each hand was a blade of burning green energy, that flickered slightly in the wind. Standing with his left side facing Reiko, he stood ready to attack Reiko.

"You'll forgive me if I don't relish in the thought of being given advice you gave my father. The man was an idiot. The only thing he did right was in siring me and my brother." He leaned back in the chair, and quite a opulate chair it was. Comfy too.

However, not quite comfortable as he would have liked it, when his guest leaned in.

"I'm not as bloodthirsty as my father was." His knuckles nearly whitened as he gripped a sheath of papers tightly, at the mention of his brother, but his face betrayed no emotions to suggest the repulsion that echoed through his body. "You'll forgive me if I'm not well educated on what exactly took place after I left. I had business to wrap up in Guldor." Yellowed eyes met with his guest, unwavering.

"Are you thirsty? A drink maybe?"

"You should probably relish that thought, you wouldn't be here now, were it not for advise....Never forget the stepladders, Victor, or why they became as such. Had he the mental capacity to go with that sheer force of will..." Henry waved his hand dismissivly. "But, I digress, of course. And no, thankyou, I've no need for it, though you musn't let me stop you, should you need refreshment."

He propped an elbow on the chair, running fingers against his lips as he seemed to formulate his next set of words.

"I imagine you are...aware, of your brothers whereabouts?"

Victor was no stranger to politics, and he knew very well that the both of them were choosing their words carefully, or at the very least he was. While the guest before him was indeed a very grand benefactor on his part, Victor remained wary of his intentions.

but likes with most other people under his employ: he knew they were using him to some degree, but as long as he got some use out of them as well, all was well.

"Suit yourself then." Victor let a finger play out over the desk, apparently pressing something; for only moments later did a sharply dressed female enter, carrying a tray with two glasses of water, placing it down atop the table, and giving the man seated in front of Victor a cusory glance, before exiting just as quietly.

"I've sent someone to track him down... Unless you have something else in mind? You never did tell me what you wanted with the boy bearing the markings of the sun."

Mrs. Adele Baker had fled the house after a terrible row with her husband, once again over children, and now she was walking around in Latent at night and feeling unnervingly out of place. She kept her head down and her arms crossed under her chest, avoiding eye contanct while frantically biting her lower lip to try and decide what would be the next logical step to take. It should have been going back home to Paul, but she knew that he would bring the topic back up again and she really felt too drained to have another row now.

Her thoughts went to Meryl, the girl she had met a few days previous while they were sharing a cab taxi. She had mentioned meeting up for a drink...

Before she could convince herself that it would be a foolish move, Adele found her mobile phone and hastily dialed Meryl's number from the card she still had in her purse, hoping that the blonde would not be busy.

If it rains, i'm so out of here... Meryl thought to herself as she sat aloft a ledge, looking over a small alleyway with some shady characters lurking within.

Tonight wasn't a skull-cracking night - tonight was recon. If Meryl went out every single day and night and slapped people around, she'd get tired very easily. So sometimes she took a little while to get to know the criminal underworld - and that meant observation.

She was happily watching the three men and their mules divviying up the cash of their last score - noting who got the most, as he was the leader - when her phone suddenly rang, the vibration making her armour rattle a little.

She growled at this. She should have thought of that before. Stealth was the name of the game - if she was sneaking up on someone and her armour made noise, stealth goes bye-bye.

Pulling the phone from it's pouch, she sat back on the ledge, wrapping her cloak around her to get a little warmer as she keyed the reply button. "Hello?"

"...Meryl? It's Adele...from the cab..."

Her voice was faltering, and she regreted having called at all, but she could not go back now. Taking a deep breath, she tried to find the correct words that sounded friendly and not too business-like, but still not desperate.

"You, uhm, mentioned going for a drink...?"

"So thats your name, huh? It's pretty. Got anywhere specific you'd like to go, or would you just like to meet me at my hotel?" Meryl asked as she stood. She needed a break anyways - the little 'holiday' she'd had had put her in a lazy mood. A few drinks and some socilising wouldn't be that bad - besides, this girl just might come in handy someday...

She leapt from her ledge, the WireDagger on her left hand doing it's thing and swinging her around the building and through the air, flying right over Adele and down the road, the 'whup-shik' of the mechanism deafened by the sound of the wind as Meryl swung.

"I'm in transit right now - where are you at the moment?"

"Uhm..."

Adele looked around and described her surroundings to Meryl, hoping that the other woman would know where she was because Adele sure had no clue. There was a large open space, and something she guessed was a library or some official building of some kind, no shops...and a statue of a man in the dead middle of the square.

"You pick the place."

'Because I wouldn't know a bar here even if it glared me straight in the face.'

Meryl chuckled under her breath as she quietly landed on the balcony of her hotel room, the wire of the WireDagger retracting into the mechanism with a 'shik' as she opened the sliding glass door and walked into her room.

"You're a ten minute walk from my hotel. Simply walk up to the man in the square, face the library, and look down the right-hand street - you'll see a big white hotel with a cresent moon on the top." She said as she undid the clasp of her cloak, the flowing garment hitting the floor as she continued to undo the straps of her armour, letting them fall noiselessly to the bed as she made her way to the bathroom.

"Just go to the counter and ask for Meryl Tomorrow, and they'll let you up. See ya in fifteen!" She said with a grin in her voice before shutting her phone and peeling off her suit, tossing it into the clothes-basket as she walked into the shower. She didn't want to be smelling of grease and leather when the girl got here.

"...see you..."

Adele hung up and took another deep breath, dropping her phone back into her bag and brushed invisible dust of her black skirt. Today, she looked like she was in mourning; black suit with a black shirt, and her hair pulled back with a black clip. Light grey stockings and black, high heeled pumps finished off the look; not the outfit one usually wore for an unformal drink or at home, but this was Adele.

With slow steps she began to walk up to the statue of the man, as Meryl had instructed, and faced the library. And indeed - she saw the moon, just as she was supposed to do. Relieved, the young woman began half-running toward the hotel, but not any faster than what was acceptable for a woman.

"I'm here to see Miss Tomorrow," she told the receptionist upon her arrival eight minutes later, and was given the room number and a spare key to let herself in. This worried Adele a little - was it this easy to gain access to someone's room or was it just a special arrangement for Meryl? Either way, she made her way up to the right floor and walked down the thick carpet in the hall, counting the doors until she found the right one.

Meryl had just finished putting the last piece of her armour away before looking up. The motion sensor she'd placed on the door had beeped once - meaning someone had stood in front of it for more then seven seconds without opening or knocking.

Adele had sounded nervous on the phone - judging by the way she had acted and spoken in the cab, Meryl guessed she didn't get out much.

So wearing a towel would be appropriate.

Walking naked to the bathroom, she wrapped her towel around her chest, her blond locks still dripping slightly as she took another and began to rub it. Her armour, weapons and cloak had all been shoved under the bed or placed in a closet - the only thing showing that she was in was the ruffled sheets, the unfinished burger she'd had for lunch sitting on the bedside table, and the balcony door left wide open, the cool air brisk within the warm room.

Adele had indeed been standing outside the door for a while, debating wether to knock or run. The latter would be the right thing, the former would be the polite thing. Strange, how the two things sometimes did not go well together. At last, she opted for the polite way out and knocked twice, lightly.

Still rubbing her hair gently, Meryl walked up to the door and opened it, smiling at the woman on the other side. "Hi there! Sorry about this, i literally just flew in through the door - come on in, i wont be a moment."

Gesturing for Adele to come in, Meryl walked over to the closet, opening it with her free hand whilst still idly rubbing her hair dry with her other towel. Her smooth long legs crossed themselves as she looked at the clothes hung up, her left toes curling slightly as she thought about what to wear - before stealing a small glance at Adele as she walked in. Noting the formal attire, she decided something like that would be nice, and pulled out a grey business suit.
