((First I'd just like to thank all of you for waiting for me, Koho cetainly does have a few things to say about this whole adventure... *giggles* she always does.))
The lioness's normally bright amber eyes clouded over with the tragic news. Certainly, in her own opinion, the world was better off without some of the more vicious Firekin, but the loss of nearly all of Mwali's family was unfortunate. The mighty lion had just recently recovered all of his previous vigor from his terrible wounds, and now this. Life certainly was testing the former prince. She understood fully his need to return to his former pride and check on the little ones, it was something that she might have recommended, however if any Prideland youth wished to go, the king and/or queen must be consulted. With this in mind, Koho leaped from the sitting position she had absentmindedly taken and moved her mass deftly in front of her son.

"Hold up hero," her voice was stern, no sign of the worry that hid in her mind for her friends, "You can't just go running off to hostile territory. Even you, Mwali, if you truly consider yourself a pridelander, have no right to just up an leave for what could be a very long journey without consulting your king or queen. Seeing as Sukutu is, without a doubt, a prideland youth I require that we speak to one of our rulers before he leaves. If Jasiri and you, Mwali, leave without notifying the king or queen, you will be accepting the title of rogue." Amber opticals pinned Mwali with a firm stare, was it not he who had wanted so badly to be part of this pride? Mufasa was a kind king and would no doubt allow them to go, but it was the principle of asking his permission that was a matter of extreme importance. He was entitled to know and have a say in such matters as members of his pride galloping off into Firekin land!

Mwali sunk a bit at Koho's words, his eyes trailing away from hers and to the ground. He couldn't say he was a pridelander- or a firekin anymore. Either way he stuck out in some way and there would always be a bit of bitterness towards him. It was something he had already have come to terms with and settled in his mind. It didn't seem to bother him so much but the mention of confronting the nobles on the matter was a scary one. Mufasa and his mate never seemed all that pleased with him in the lands, they didn't ever speak to him and he had made it a habbit to stay out of their sight when they came around. Not that he didn't like them- they both seemed like kind rulers but because of who he was- and the rank he held... it just didn't seem like they'd every really -want- him there at all. Approaching them with word that he was now the king of the firekin seemed almost like walking into a den of hungry wild dogs alone. "I don't think they like me...", he said quietly, a claw drawing little circles in the dirt below him, "I... I don't know Koho... won't they be angry? I mean.. if I go back.... I'll... I'll be ki-... steward of their enemy pride?"

King sounded too official, too regal, too..... not him. He was about as sharp as grass and just about as brave. A king was nothing like he could be and he knew it. Steward sounded better- he didn't want to stay at all, just long enough for the oldest cub to asend to his father's throne. Of course... they were halfbloods. He doubted any lived aside from him that knew that dirty little fact. The line of the gods depended on only him now- which with his love for Koho was pretty much left in the dirt. Not that Mwali cared all that much. The ways of the firekin weren't impressed upon him enough for him to have made them -his- ways in the least.

Sukutu looked at his mother and then his ears flattened against his head, he really didn't want to ask the king...what if he banished him...but he was a Pridelander...and it would just make the matter worse.

The adolescent sighed heavily, his head droooping slightly before he looked up at Koho smiling softly, his tail flicking.

"Will you ever stop being right all the time?" He asked playfully before starting to walk of to find the king, he then turned back to Mwali and Jasiri giving a small smirk to the red lion.

"Ya comin' to ask or what?"

((It's been a few weeks I'm guessing. Mwali's fully recovered and he's just gotten word of the death toll back at the Firekin, they're getting ready to go ask Mufasa's permission to leave so he can care for the cubs that his brother left behind long enough for one of them to take the throne 3nodding ))
Mwali sighed, hesitant to do much of anything but Koho was right... agian. He probibly should speak to the king if nothing else. It would be terribly rude to simply take off after the golden king had allowed him to stay in his lands even in knowing that he was the prince of an enemy pride. Perhaps he could explain the situation all the way through, clear the name of his pride just a bit. Surely the king here wouldn't condem the cubs to death... especially a slow and miserable one out in the heat of the desert. No one- not even most firekin -was that heartless. Perhaps he could even try to create a bond between the two prides. It was a terribly long shot but nothing was completely impossible. The only problem Mwali could think of was that there were sure to be a few adult lionesses about the pride that would hold to the old ways until their last breath. They'd listen and obey him simply because of who his father was- in respect of Makadari though they dispised him.

He got to all fours and followed along behind Sukutu, rolling his great shoulders back so he didn't look so miserable and pathetic. He didn't want to leave the pridelands looking like the great red coward that he was. Perhaps if he looked the part of his pride back home they'd buy it long enough... he could look just as a firekin should- behaving like one was his problem. He'd never fought before and the thought that he very well might have to fight haunted his mind perhaps a bit more than the death of his brother.

As he felt the presence of the red lion finaly approache him he turned his head and smiled comfortingly at the adult, moving down so he was by his side and then looked at him.

"Hey..." He said softly. "It'll be ok...once you explain...it'll be ok..."

He spoke with confidence in the Firekin prince, giving him a cocky sort of smile as his mane once more fell across half his face, this would be a downside to being an adolescent I suppose.

Mwali smiled just a bit, assured by Sukutu's words and overall presence. To think the cub seemed so against him being there in the first days in the pride lands. A lot of things changed since thing. Mwali wasn't so helpless... he had caught his first rat a few days ago when hunting- he was sure to show everyone what he had done. Of course the local cubs had a good laugh at the big "bad" firekin getting all excited over killing a rat but it was something at least. He paused and looked around- Mufasa was no where to be seen. Thinking for a moment he turned to Sukutu, "Do...does your pride roar to find the others? I'm not seeing the king anywhere..."

One of the young lions ears swivveled towards the lion before he looked around, sighing angrily as he strained to see the king of the Pride Lands anywhere.
He then gave Mwali a small glance before nodding to his question, he remebered when he was a juvenille, he had to roar to find Koho.

"Yeah we do...hang fire for a second..." The phrase was something he hadn't used as often as he did, he then quickly jumped ontop of the flat part of the rock, looking over the Pride Lands before he took a deep breath.

All of a sudden a burst of noise came from the young male, his first adolescent roar may have not summed up to one of Mufasa's, but it was still a force to be reconed with.
His yellowish fangs gleamed in the light of the day as he continued calling out for the King, pausing his roars to see if he would get a reply.

((wow i missed alot XD *chews herself*
thankee =3))

Wokovu yawned widely, just waking up in the middle of the day.. his "mother's" sleeping habits were starting to wear off on him. He and the fennec fox had bedded down a bit away from pride rock, enough to be close to the lions and their "family" but far enough to keep solitude. In the time they spent he had learned how to forrige, dig, hide, and all sorts of little fox like things.
His ears flicked as he stared at the sleeping fox.. hm.. She probably wouldn't be up for several more hours.. time for exploring! The cub hopped to his paws squeezing out of the den.. hm. Maybe Mwali, Tuele, or jasiri would want to play with him? Sadly he had no news of the firekin plauge.. and was quite clueless to the whole thing. But with fun in mind he took off towards pride rock, searching out his old friends.

-Mufasa's ears twitched softly as the roar echo'd from the distance. It was relitively far, either that or very weak, but reguardless he waited again, trying to find any tone of pain or worry in the roar. Unsure however, he cast an apologetic glance to his young companion.- "It looks like we might have to postpone the walkaround, my apologies."

-Turning his attention towards the direction of the call, he raised his own voice, a massive rumble of a roar filling the air around them, most hopefully, loud enough to be heard.

He waited anxiously, for a call back, or the apperance of anything upon the horizon, unsure whether or not he needed to search out the source himself.-

Mwali's ears rotated forward as an answering roar was heard- it was definately one from the king- loud and powerful. He sighed, walking towards the source slowly at first. Perhaps he was supposed to answer- let the king know that his buisness was with him. Taking a deep breath and pausing where the stood Mwali let out a roar of his own- it was obviously the roar of a decendant of the fire-kin, wild and powerful though it was probibly very odd to hear such a sound come from Mwali. His reply wasn't angry or anything, simply a reply to inform Mufasa who it was who was looking for him. After giving his roar he continued forward a it quicker than he had last time, taking a glance over his shoulder for Sukutu or any others who might follow after him.

-Another returned roar, this one however, caught a quick moment of worry in the kings mind, before he settled his nerves softly. It was the Firekin rouge, yes? Not some new threat?

Pushing himself up from his seated position Mufasa offered quickly to the young female before, almostly rudely, beginning forward, tempted to meet the caller halfway.- "This... I need to check this. You can follow if you want, but keep back a few strides Maawio, just until I know it's safe."
