Going to do some link dumping here....stay tuned. xd http://www.babyzone.com/pregnancy/trimesters/week/a698 < Babyzone http://community.vhi.ie/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/894103/m/79510231 http://www.pregnancywizard.com/signs-symptoms/brown-discharge.php http://www.midwivesonline.com/parents/parents.php?ttl=faqans&faq=261 I think I'll stop there. They all pretty much say the same thing: it's common most likely old blood, just watch it. 3nodding And at the stage you're at, it could also be implantation pains.

Thanks for the info. I've been so neurotic lately. I worry I'm not really pregnant, I worry that I am and I'm losing the baby. Worry worry worry.
I still have the gunk today but there is less of it. You don't get it from normal wiping either, you kinda have to dig for it a little (eww)

The cramping might just be normal. I know I cramped up in the first month or two of pregnancy with all 3 of mine--nothing major, but enough to be noticable.
I know what you mean about being a bit paranoid. I had a little spotting on this one early on, and I was paranoid for probably the first 4-5 months that I was going to miscarry or something. I imagine I'd be 10x worse in your shoes. My midwife told me several times that I was fine, but that never really helped settle my fears.

xd heart Once you get a positive, you can stop testing...they almost never get a "false" reading and when they do, you were preggo and started making the hormone.

the crazy ladies on the fertility board are trying to freak me out about this brown stuff.
I mean, I'm not in pain or anything so it shouldn't be a biggie right?

Brown usually means old blood, it's lots of fresh blood that you should worry about.
Also, when I was pregnant with Liam, I had problems with spotting, but it was due to bruising my cervix during sex.

If it's not red, it's not heavy, you aren't cramping (like OWCRAMPING), and it isn't worsening, there's no real reason to be worried about it. You can ask tomorrow at your appointment, if it will give you piece of mind. 3nodding
You may want to avoid the fertility board for the time being if it's going to cause you undue worry. It's hard enough being nervous without someone else feeding into that and exacerbating it. I find that rather cruel, even if they have good intentions. That and it seems to be putting you seriously on edge which you really don't need.
As the information I found earlier for you said, the main culprits for brown discharge at your stage of pregnancy are implantation, or old blood from sex clearing out. Many women have it off and on the first trimester.
Take a deep breath and say it with me now: I'm okay. heart
(And I truly do understand how nerve wrecking it is to finally be pregnant after a long period of TTC and worrying you might be infertile. I know I was extremely paranoid about miscarrying the first three months and I wish I could have focused on something else. It was so draining and took some of the joy out of the experience. I hope I'm not coming off as rude or not understanding, I'd just hate to see another person be as high strung as I was those first several months. ♥)

Sashanaru Thanks for the info. I've been so neurotic lately. I worry I'm not really pregnant, I worry that I am and I'm losing the baby. Worry worry worry. I still worry about it at almost 4 months. I'm sure you are okay. I never did congratulate you on your positive result: So congrats!

No baby. I'm so devastated right now, I can't even think.
I went to the health Dept and got a faint ++. She estimated me at 6 weeks and when I told her about the brown stuff she said it could be a miscarriage. I go to the ER and they examine my cervix and say it's nice and tight, no miscarriage but the brown was coming from some cervix irritation. They took a blood test/quantitive and it came back a 45. No way I can be 6 weeks with a 45. So they think I'm just not pregnant. I have to go back on Monday for another blood test but at this point, I fail to see the reason.
I obviously can't have a baby and was stupid to ever think I could. I even managed to get proof of pregnancy.. apparently a fake pregnancy.

No, if you got a positive, the hormone was there, that wasn't fake. sad
Don't give up just yet...I'm not sure what this buisness is with the blood work, but wait and see. Everyone is different, keep that in mind.
Not the same but I've had Mono--TWICE--and both times, they didn't think I had it because my white cell count never went through the roof but after the fact, they found antibodies for it. We all work differently and have different 'normals.'
We've had ladies in here who even at five months pregnant did not make enough hormone to be detected in urine tests, even though they were obviously pregnant. Blood work is more sensitive, but I'm sure it can also vary greatly.
It may be you're not six weeks pregnant. smile You may not have ovulated when you thought and even with all that charting have been wrong. You might not be so far along.
Wait until you see how things play out before giving up and declaring it over.
Can anything interfere with home pregnancy test results? Most medicines, over-the-counter and prescription, including birth control pills and antibiotics, should not affect the results of a home pregnancy test. Only medicines that have the pregnancy hormone hCG in them can give a false positive test result. A false positive is when a test says you are pregnant when you're not.
Sometimes medicines containing hCG are used to treat infertility (not being able to get pregnant). Alcohol and illegal drugs do not affect HPT results. But women who may become pregnant should not use these substances.

Are you talking about blood HCG levels when you mentioned the 45? As in 45 IU/L?
If so....taken from: http://www.birth.com.au/class.asp?class=6620&page=8
A beta HCG of at least 25 IU/L is definitely regarded as being a 'positive' pregnancy blood test.
.... Normal HCG blood levels vary widely between different women and in different pregnancies for the same woman. Be very careful when trying to 'interpret the numbers'. During the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, the level itself is NOT as important in how much it is rising every few days. Some normal pregnancies will have quite low HCG levels and still progress, ending in the birth of a healthy baby. The best way to confirm if a pregnancy is progressing is to repeat the blood test in 2 to 3 days time, and perhaps again 2 to 3 days after that. This is aimed at seeing if the HCG level is rising adequately.
There's not reason to believe you're not pregnant based on an HCG level of 45 IU/L. Anything starting at 5 IU/L indicates a pregnancy. And if I've been understanding what you're talking about in TTC correctly, you literally just missed your period, right? So wouldn't that actually put you in the 4-5 week range, not the six?

Yeah, the 45 is the blood HCG number. I have a long cycle about 36-38 days. So even though my last period was jan 18th, I'm not that far along and of course nobody listens when I say that.
So if I got a ++ on 3 different tests.. and my cervix is closed (nothing has come out) I just *have* to be pregnant, right?
I'm just terrified my numbers won't go up.
The lady at the ER was telling me that with a 45, I could ONLY be one week pregnant (which makes no sense to me at all)

As long as your HCG number goes up on your next test, you are SO TOTALLY pregnant. 3nodding
You aren't on fertility treatments to be getting HCG anywhere else. You have no signs of a miscarriage. You are getting positives from pee tests which means your levels are high enough. You are pregnant.
The number itself isn't so important as its relationship to that next test.
Quite frankly, the lady at the ER was an asshat and when you find out for sure, file a complaint. She had no right to be giving you incorrect information and scaring you like that. That was unprofessional of her.

Now I'm scared the numbers won't go up enough. I wish there was something I can do. I can't stop worrying. How can I *not* think about it?
