Having it on 3DS would have been nice.

Verily, I am looking forward to what the Platinum gift for Club Nintendo will be.
Oh! I'd better check what's available for download there too... which is still Mario Party 2. Hm.
Furthermore, why haven't I bothered to watch Sonic For Hire sooner? Funny stuff.

Two more reasons that occurred to me:
- Moving to a new system midway through the generation is unprecedented among the main games. R/B/Y are for Game Boy, G/S/C are for Game Boy Color, R/S/E/FR/LG are for Game Boy Advance, D/P/Pt/HG/SS are for the DS, and B/W are for the DSi (playable on DS, but no way to migrate from a GBA game, so...).
- There are a ton of older fans, but the series is still primarily targeted at kids. If the game came out in June for the 3DS, most of us could budget and come up with the $210 necessary to buy a 3DS and B2/W2 by then. Your average kid can't. The only way they're getting a 3DS is as a present, and $170 may still be too expensive for their parents.
I'd still expect sixth gen to be on 3DS, though. And then I'll have to upgrade, because Pokémon seems to always be responsible for making me get new handhelds. cat_xd

Frequenting the Pokemon thread in TVTropes like I do, I had caught wind to that upcoming Pokemon movie involving the Musketeer Mons.
With the obligatory Pikachu short before it featuring Meloetta, a distribution of that Mon doesn't seem like a far off shot anymore.

WylrPnufh Skaeryll WylrPnufh Heck, I don't even have a DSi anymore, so I'm farther from a 3DS than most people. I support the console choice. I'm not sure, however about the idea of B/W2. I'll have to wait around to see what it's like. I saw a 2012 date on the promo poster, though, so it's not too long a wait.. Not like waiting for the next Smash or anything. wink The 2012 date is for Japan... We'll likely get it in 2013. What I meant was, we'll still find out what it's like in 2012. Once it's released in Japan, we'll know more about it. Very true.

Zephyrkitty CarcharOdin Wow, direct sequels to Pokemon Games....hmm. Gold, Silver, and Crystal? Crystal was a remake that took place at the same time as Gold and Silver...wasn't it? I know that's how it went with Emerald and Platinum.

The difference is this one is still centered around Unova.

The Pokémon timeline isn't something I'm hugely worried about, though. When LoA says 'direct sequels', I assume that means a game that has a strong connection to another game. Second gen is pretty clearly set after the events of R/B/Y. On the other hand, third, fourth, and fifth gen are sequels, but they have very little connection with the previous generations.

What I'm trying to say, though, is that Black 2 and White 2 are direct sequels to Black and White, instead of being a retooled version of them, like Yellow was to Red and Blue, Crystal was to Gold and Silver, Emerald was to Ruby and Sapphire, and Platinum was to Diamond and Pearl. I'm not discussing the chronology of the generations themselves.
