Arcadian The Rally Point's simulator is pretty accurate. Nature is a harsh mistress. You might want to ask one of the big guys to send an army down and make one of the oases more managable for you. If you center the map on your city, all oases that you can see you can take. Balcerzak If you click on the oasis square you can see the defensive forces you'll need to overcome. Something like e.g. 44 rats, 38 spiders, 24 bats. Then as Arc says use combat sim to check your chances. Also as mentioned it has to be in your 7x7. As far as oasis types to consider, the types that give wheat in addition to another resource are always to be preferred, if you can get them. Also, boosting a resource that you have more production tiles in is generally more advantageous, e.g. if you have a 5 clay, 4 wood, 3 iron village, boosting your iron production by 25% will give you less net resources than boosting your clay production by 25%. Awesome. Thanks guys.

Settlers dispatched! I am claiming a 15-wheater, but I am not really going to heavily develop it yet. I intend it for my new cavalry center but I would like another traditional resource village, that will function just to pump out resources, to be developed first. I just didn't want to lose this spot. 3nodding

scream Damn you! I was hoping I could catch you. wink Edit: but I think your expansion has jumped us another spot on the alliance rank chart, despite now having two inactive villages.

And now that i'm no longer mass sending resources to the 15 wheater, I should be growing much faster as well. :3

Excellent. Swiftly growing comrades are a good thing!
I made a ginormous post IG in re: to majesticyeti's questions about expansions. If I left anything out, or you have corrections or alternate views to share, feel free.

Balcerzak Excellent. Swiftly growing comrades are a good thing! I made a ginormous post IG in re: to majesticyeti's questions about expansions. If I left anything out, or you have corrections or alternate views to share, feel free. It certainly covered all the bases. Because my military is primarily defensive, the balanced 6444 spots work out much better for me. I've got 2 of the 6444 variety, soon to be 3, and one of the 6543 (6 crop, 5 clay, 4 wood, 3 iron) that's been a royal pain in the a** to keep in a steady build pattern.

Congrats, guys. I'm upping my resources again (finally) so hopefully I'll be up with you guys in a bit.
As it is...I've got my forces at a happy level (That is, 50 above my city population, and 20 more than my wheat can handle.)

Silkara This is an IGM conversation I just had, and thought I should share: If nothing else, my hero will gain some experience, and the potential loss of a few men will definately build ties so that their alliance will actively reciprocate if one of our members need help. I haven't sent mine off yet, but when I do, anyone want to add a few troops timed to get there the same time as mine do so they have a slim chance of taking a bite out of the attack troops? Any word back on this? Did your defenders die, get attacked, anything? I sent ltima an IGM a couple days ago asking for follow-up but got nothing. Was wondering if you had more recent news. And Teri, wow, just wow.

I decided NOT to shove my nose into every conflict known to HME, and look what happened? confused Anyway, I'm comfortable now, and not spending nearly so much on soldiering. This means I'm expanding faster, which is fine.

My defenders were obliterated. xd But Ltima says, with all the defenders that were there, we took out most of the attacker's forces. I don't know whether it will help in the long run or if it just delayed the inevitable, but Ltima seemed very happy and thankful with the results, and our alliance got a 10/10 rating on their alliance's "how important is this alliance to us" ratings. She's not asking for any more men, so all in all I guess it was as good of a result as I expected.

Sorry to hear about your loss, but sounds like we may have just cemented some positive relations. If you need some defenders until you build back up to strength, say the word.
