Kiro gave a great long sigh in perhaps a way to establish what he was about to say was very important. "I'm hungry." Kiro then muttered shamelessly.

Mathias couldn't help it. His jaw dropped and he started laughing. He tried to suck in some breathes between his wheezing laughter and managed to stammer out,"But we just ate before our practice match!!"

"That's one thing you're going to have to get used to with Kiro." William said. "I don't know if it's a side effect of his abilities or if he just has a really high metabolism, but the guy can put away food like nobodies business." William just shook his head. "Come on. Let's go get Kiro something to eat, maybe I'll have a little snack also." William then led the way to the cafeteria.

Kiro was seated at a table with William and Mathias nearby. Empty plates were scattered about the table with just a few mere crumbs left. Kiro leaned back and stretched.
"Alright, now I'm good." Kiro announced to his party. Kiro stood up and rest his hands on the hilt of his right katana. "What was the plan now?" Kiro asked both of his partners.
It was a fair amount of time since Axis had sent assassins after Kiro, he was beginning to feel more at ease now. Though, Kiro knew that since the assassins failed, they would not stop until they killed him.

"I guess now the plan would be to either wait for the higher-ups to assign us a job, or to go through the archives and pick one out. I vote for checking the archives. Who knows how long it could take for the suits to pick out something for us. Besides, I'm feeling kinda antsy and we need to test out our new partner here." William said gesturing to Mathias. "What do ya say, kid, wanna come with me and help pick out a good one?"

Mathias' eyes brightened and his grin nearly split his face in two,"Oh by the God's yes!" he laughed and slapped William on the arm,"I've been waiting for a chance to show my stuff since I got back from my first mission with that snake!" He looked from William to Kiro then, and looked suddenly apprehensive,"Are you sure you're up to it though? I mean, you only just got back..."

(( CHRIS!!! The file that had all my information about Axis is corrupt so I don't remember all the Axis names and stuff I planned that were alphanumeric. Gahh By the way, I thought about making a new character... And I don't know what to post so just act like Kiro went with. Lol *lazy*))

"Don't worry about it. That's how Kiro and I operate. We'll do a bunch of jobs at once and then we'll take a break for a little while, and then we'll do more jobs." William said as he led his new partner into the Archives building, Kiro trailing lazily behind. "The missions that we receive here at the Corps. are organized as they come in. There are some, like the one that you went on with Gene, that require immediate attention. There are a lot of others, though, that aren't so much requests as they are tips, or reports, of a fiend in a given area. A lot of those get filed away when we have urgent missions, and only get pulled back out once we've caught up on requests, or when one of us goes searching for a job on our own time." William led the way through rows of filing cabinets as he spoke, checking dates as he went. He suddenly stopped and opened a drawer, and began rifling through the files within. "Here, these are more recent. This ones a ways off, but it sounds interesting. A mysterious cave. The file says that strange sounds and lights were witnessed coming from inside. A local warrior went in to investigate and never came back out." William held the file out to Mathias. "What do you think?"

Mathias took the file William offered and scanned in. After a moment he looked up, meeting William's eyes, and then Kyro's. A grin spread slowly on his lips before murmuring,"Race you to the stables..."

By the time Mathias had said 'to' William was already bolting for the door. "Hahahaha!" He laughed as he darted between filing cabinets and slammed his way out the door. Once outside he broke into a full sprint.

Mathias blinked and then laughed as William took off running. He had only been joking. William had said the cave was a long ways off, so preparation was needed,"C'mon Kiro. We'd best secure provisions and supplies before we head out," he grinned and clapped his new partner on the shoulder. They'd need food, camping supplies, their weapons and equipment of course... all the things they might need on the journey ahead. Mathias headed towards the requisition office to procure what they would need, and in enough amounts to see to all of them.

William quickly arrived at the stables where he leaned against a wall to catch his breath. "Ha! Beat you, Mathia..." He trailed off when he looked behind him and saw that his new partner was no where to be found. Only then did he stop to think that maybe the young warrior might have been joking. "Hahahaha. Oh well." William already had his sword and daggers on him, which was all the weaponry he intended to take with him this time around. But he thought he might need his pack, which contained the majority of his sealing gear, along with his camping equipment. He took a deep breath, let out a long slow exhalation, and set off back his room to get the remainder of his gear.

((If no one objects, I'll do a minor time skip))
Some time later, Mathias and his companions were leading their horses out of the Citadel before mounting up on the road. Mathias had the duty of leading the pack animal... "the newbie's job" they had said. They had checked their names out on the roster and had been given clearance for the mission, along with supplies that had been requested. Mathias wished they could set a faster pace from the outset, but that was just due to his eagerness and he knew it. "What do you think we'll find when we get to this cave?" he asked either of his friends. He fervently hoped he would get some real action this time. Patrolling the lands around the Citadel had grown quite boring, and now that he was part of a team again he was anxious to really show his stuff.

Kiro had been too lazy to follow after Mathias and William as they sprinted off. "I don't wanna run after eating again..." Kiro complained.
----
Kiro rode his horse in the rear of his party, but picked up on the conversation. "Well, I hope I find that big spider that got away last time." Kiro commented.

((I'm back, Baby!!! Finally got a new fan for my computer, so all's well and good. Let's get this show back on the road.))
"If we do find the spider we might have to beat a hasty retreat and come back later with reinforcements. That last encounter didn't exactly go in our favor, and I don't think we'd do much better with a repeat. I think we might need Matt, or maybe Tyrone for that thing. Anyways, with the description that was in the report I don't think it's likely to be the spider. I honestly have no idea what to expect, but we'll do our best to be prepared and we'll find out when we get there."
((Skip.))
A little over a week later the three Hunters arrived at their destination. A small village set at the merging point between a grassland and a region of rolling hills. The village was maybe about twenty structures total, most of them small one and two room homes, though there were a small number of larger buildings, including a modest inn, a mercantile, and a stables. William knew all of this from the original file, which had contained a note on the village and other points of interest in the area, which weren't many. "Well, here we are." William said. "Mathias, how about you take point with the locals."
