Congrats! Seeing your little bundle gets me even more excited for the arrival of my own. I probably won't be able to sleep tonight, just thinking that tomorrow is my baby shower. I'm so excited, I can't wait until I'm able to hold my son.

It was great! Nobody wanted to leave and it was already 3 in the morning. xd I was glad when the baby's grandfather from the father's side showed up. He's just as excited or even more so than I am I think! He's such a sweet heart. He went all out buying the baby clothes, and is now trying to convince me to name the baby after his father. ...That's not gonna happen though, he's name has already been decided... <.< ... >.> ...
It definitely made my weekend, not to mention a friend of mine threw a little get together as an eaarly birthday present yesterday since he wasn't able to come to the baby shower.

Now that my brain is starting to wrap itself around the probability that I am pregnant, I'm still so freaked out about miscarriages. It seems like almost everyone I meet on the internet has as least one.. sometimes more...

That's very normal even if you haven't had issues TTC or known people who have had one. If it helps at all, after week 14, the chances of spontaneous miscarriage go down something like 70%. wink So try not to sweat it and enjoy it.

Did anyone ever have high blood sugar for the gestational diabetest test and have to go in for the 3-hour glucose test? What happens if that is high too? "We may have to teach you to count your carbs" is all the midwife said.
Also, I've always believed and stressed to others that the amount of weight you gain and how fast you gain it during pregnancy is often right for you, even if the doctors complain. Well, it's their job to deal with numbers and say "12 pounds in a month is too high, so chill," but then when I actually get TOLD that, I can't keep it from bothering me! Maybe it's just because I'm hormonal and extra sensitive.

Sounds like they're trying to determine if you have/are developing Gestational Diabetes or not. Both of my blood screenings came back normal--lucky me got two as I was significantly overweight before getting pregnant--I'd imagine if the numbers for the 3 hour are off, then they'll start by trying to control it through your diet and see where to go from there.
I'd imagine if that's the case, they'll be trying to help you steer clear of the 'white stuff,' over processed sugars that cause spikes in your blood sugar and try to get you substitute in healthier alternatives to anything that may need to be changed. Whole grains vs. white flour products, limit potatoes, table sugar, all those nummy white starches.

I'm trying to avoid sugars today in hopes tomorrow's test will be nice and normal. This baby craves the sweets though, and now that Cadbury Creme Eggs are being stocked for Easter, that's going to be a tough temptation to avoid! stressed

I just had a WIC appointment the other day, and they had an absolute fit because I wasn't getting the standard version of the glucose test done--the one where they make you drink this nasty orange flavored sugar drink and then test your blood an hour later... My midwife gives me the option to have a test done, but she just has me eat a normal meal and then come in an hour later. She didn't even think I needed to have it done because there are no other signs of gestational diabetes, but then if I was going to get it with one of my kids it would be this one. I couldn't stomach chocolate or anything really sweet when I was pregnant before, but I've been craving ice cream almost constantly with this one. I'm going to get her version of the test at my next appointment probably.
omg... cadbury eggs... heart I'm really trying to cut the sugar intake but all these treat-filled holidays (Christmas, Valentines, and now Easter coming up)... it makes it really hard to resist the temptation. Man, what happened to the good broccoli cravings from earlier on in my pregnancy--at least that was healthy.

XD My preganancy went that way as well. First trimester, could not stomach excess sugar at all. Only craved healthy food. Second, started to be able to stomach chocolate and things again. Third, all I wanted were sweets.
Rai, yes, we do stock the mini eggs here. :33 However, no Cabury McFlurries which I've heard about. T__T

Have any of you guys ever had brown discharge in pregnancy? I've been bugging Nopen about it all day.
I called the health department and they said to watch for severe cramps, lots of red blood or worsening symptoms. I don't have that but I'm still scared.
I am cramping but it's really mild. It's low on the abdomen in the front, right above the area where the leg meets the torso.

I never had it, but I've heard of it. I think in the early stages of pregnancy, spotting is fairly normal. I know other women in here have described it. It can happen off and on throughout your pregnancy as well, particularly if your cervix gets bumped during intercourse.
As long as you aren't having any of the symptoms they listed, I wouldn't worry for now. Easier said then done, right? ^^;;
