I strode through the halls of the academy, Vanessa following in my wake. She was a sweet girl once you got to know her, and she clung on tightly, it was getting hard to just go to sleep! Suddenly I felt a chill run down my spine and knew something was happening to Scarlet, her emotions where....confused. Wariness, fear, and....a tight ball of determination, like she was about to walk through a wall. I nearly made a protal rightt hen and there, but something told me that would be a bad idea. "Is something wrong Drako?" Vanessa asked, tapping my shoulder, "Hmm? Oh, no just a feeling." She looked at me with an unreadable expression before walking off. Strange. Usualy she bugged me till I was ready to pass out, what was up?

Scalret nodded and felt the figure push her hard into the light.She woke up in aginizing pain.

Scarlet was in pain, and so was I. I ws walking to my bunk when I felt the agony, I dropped headfirst onto the bedpole, and blacked out. I woke a few minutes later with a bloody lump on my head an Vanessa sitting infront of me with concern on her face. "I'm.....fine Vanessa." She didn't move, "Vanessa I said I am fine!" Then she grew determined, "Drako your going to tell me what just happened and your going to say it now mister!" I nearly flinched under this youth's overbaring gaze, light she reminded me of Scarlet when she did that! 'Light Vanessa! You remind me of my fiansai when you act like this." I clicked my mouth shut when I was about to go on, oops, she didn't know anything about what I was going through at the moment, why did I have to go and blab?! "Your fiansai? Oh! You mean Scarlet?! The stories all said you two got married!" I blushed, hard, which made her giggle, which made me blush harder. "No um we never um got married." I pulled out the engagment ring to show her and she gasped at its beauty, "Drako its beautiful! Where did you get it?" I shrugged, "I made it." I said simply, she looked at me increduosly, "You....big brave strong Drako....make jewelry?" She laughed hysterically, falling over in her fit of laughter. I drew myself up indignatly, "Hey! I can be graceful if I want to....." She lost her breathe laughing.

Scarlet saw her life flash quickly and realized that it really wan't worth living anymore except for one reason,Drako!
She would do anything for him but they were becomeing more and more distant as time passed.She sighed and layed back on the covers of her bed.The swirling purple of the pentagram on the wall slight pulsing with life that was showing everything from the workd to teh netherworld it's self.

Not being able to sleep with a golfball sized bruise on my noggen Vanessa and I spent late ours warming ourselves by the fire and talking, she was an intellegent young women, though sadly she was orphaned soon after her coming of age, that made me feel sad, but after telling her my lifes story, which we somehow drifted to from the topic of advanced wards. Soon she was hugging me and trying to console me, which was way too akward for my taste. She was a nice, sweet girl. I stood up and ruffled her hair affectionately as I walked back to the boy's dormitory.I felt like I had to help Vanessa, like I owed her somehow.

"Scarlet,there is sonething of great importance that needs your attention."
Scarlet groned in defiance and covered her head with her pillow.
"Go away Scotts!Can't you see that I'm busy?"
"I sure can!You are moping over something arn't you?"
"Who asked you?"Scarlet sat up and through the pillow at the pentagtam and it flew right through the portal and hit Scotts in the face.
"I didn't mean to be pushy or anything,I just wondered if something was wrong?" Scotts continued.
"Scarlet we need to know what our army is goin to do right now!You have to lead it you know!"
Scarlet shouted loudly while she got up to walk out of the room,
"Tell them I upped and died."

I woke up with a knife in my ribs, man wards where always useful! My assailant got away and Vanessa showed up minutes later trying to tend the wond, though when I pulled the dagger, completely harmless to my body with my current ward, she fainted from the sight. I groaned and picked her up in my arms to take to the infirmary. She groaned and slowly opened her eyes, "Dad?" I blushed, she must have been haluscenating, but if I told her I wasn't she might freak out, so I just kept my mouth shut as I walked stoickly on to the infirmary, Vanessa murming about her family the whole time. Why where all the women in my life so confusing?!

Scarlet had fallen asleep outside under the shade of an oak tree.The sun was just coming up and the birds were begining to sing.Scarlet stirred but didn't wake up.
"Do you think we should wake her up?"
"I don't think that would be a good idea.Did you see what she did to Virgle?"
The crew member shook his head at the other one.
"You don't want to know!Just leve her be.She has very dark voodoo powers.I wouldn't test it if I were you."
They nodded at each other and left Scarlet be as the sun began to shine through the tree as Scarlet's face began to turn a slight pinkish color from the burning sun.

About as soon as I walked into the infirmary she came too, she looked up at my face pleasantly, then the shock of who I was made her franticly squirm to get on her own feet, and being me, I acidentally dropped her. "Woops! Sorry, your fault anyway." She slapped me upside the head, how did she manage to land it right where Scarlet had always hit me? I rubbed the side of my head, I swore that had become my soft spot after all the slapping. "Drako! You dropped me! Thats no way to handle a lady!" She placed her hands defiantly on her hips, like always, and put on her best pouting scowl. I made a flourishing bow with an invisible cape and kissed her hand, "I beg your forgivness my lady." The mockery could have been seen by a blind person. She quirked her mouth into a smile and shoock her head. "I was borne to rule, formalities are second nature, when I feel like it." At that her smile took on a sad offset, "Drako...when you hit your head and blacked out, well...you mumbled all of your problems to me. Just about every single one of your problems, your sister Kaie, your evil family blood, your destiney as the Lord of Cha-hmpff!" I had placed a hand over her mouth, my eyes wide I darted a look around us, so far no one had been taken to the infirmary that day, there was no one to hear. Light! All my problems! I couldn't even keep my mouth shut when I was unconscious! "Vanessa, listen, please....if you tell anyone about thi-." She had placed her own hand over my mouth, moving my hand away from her face she nodded smiling. I heaved a sigh, lights blessing she was even-minded.

Scarlet groaned in pain and slowly came back to the land of the living.She went to rub her eyes but screeched in pain and realised that the sun had burned part of her face.
"Ok?since when did the sun affect me?"
Scotts replyed in her mind in a smug voice.
"It comes with the territory Scarlet.You know that!"
"I thought I told you to stay out of my mind Scotts and out of my life for right now."
"Sorry I really can't!You are goin to have to take up the fight sooner or later Scarlet and I suggest taht you do soon."
Scarlet muttered under her breath.
"Why is it always me that has stuff happen?"

"So, Vanessa, now that you know my current predicament, you can come with me and I can get back to work." She nearly jumped but settled for cooly raising an eyebrow, "I have to teach you, but I have other duties too, plus, if your realy my biggest fan I think you should get to see what I usualy do." She smiled up at me and hugged me tight, like a daughter hugged a father. I hugged her back and walked her through a portal and into the airship, straight into my room. "Well I will have to get you a room, wont be hard though dont worry." She looked around the room and then looked at me, "Nope." I scrubed a hand through my hair, "What?" She shrugged, then grinned slyly, "I'm sleeping here." I jumped, "Where am I going to sleep then?!" HSe laughed and sat on the edge of the bed, "Oh, you can sleep on the floor I suppose." She laughed happily, I grumbled.

Scarlet took off her cloak and threw it over her head and raced for the ship.Once she got inside,she took it off and started walking to her room but instantlay heard a womans laugh in Drako's room.
"What have you been doing Drako?"Scarlet muttered under her breath and made every effert not to pounce on Drako as she walked past his room.She would deal with him later.
