Roman just chuckled faintly. "Definitely. It's beyond time that we go eat," he agreed. "You hungry? We sort of skipped lunch." He hadn't missed her slight blush, and wondered if she was embarrassed. If so, about what? Being hungry? A natural function?
Well, some girls were like that. Ez had been like that when she was younger, but she was over it now. Shrugging mentally to himself and shoving his hair out of his eyes, he decided he might as well take the lead. Assuage the female ego. "Come on," he said cheerfully. "Let's go hunt down some real food."
Esmeralda stood in the barn, stroking Sahara's neck as the mare inspected her, whickering softly as she ensured that Esmeralda's withers and flanks were all in order, much to the girl's amusement. "S'OK, girl," she murmured. "It was just a little tumble. I'm fine now."
She could hear murmured voices from somewhere in the barn, but had no interest in them. Sahara was her only interest right now - even though she'd heard Roman's comment about a 'surprise' and intended to go check that out later.

Xavier nodded. "Sure, lets see." He replied in a calm voice. "Now if only we could find out where it is." He added laughingly. He took her hand very gently, smiling, and began to walk towards the stables. At the moment, he was unaware that Nanina had snuck into the foal's stable, because once again, he was oblivious to the current situation of Nanina, Summer, and himself. However, if he was to be informed of it, he probably would either still be confused or react in some strange, Xavier-like way. He was Xavier like that.
Kahlilia obediently followed, and willed her face to return to its normal colors as she walked. She was thinking about little Ariel, and those thoughts made her happy. She knew Kelly and Phoenix would make good parents, or so she hoped with all her heart. It was still surprising, after this time, that Phoenix had so quickly become amiable. It was wonderful.
"Oh, there it is." Kahlilia said, looking up at the mess hall. It wasn't a very far walk away from the kitchen, of course, and was by now thirty feet away from them.

"I think it's in one of the stalls in the barn," Summer said happily well aware of the tension between herself and Nanina, but she refused to let it sole her good mood. She clasped her hand to Xaiver's and walked beside him.

Nanina's head snapped up when the voices drew closer. Oh, dang. She thought, shifting to look for a way to bale out of the stall before Summer and Xavier got closer.

Summer walked into the barn and went over to a stall and saw the foal, "Oh it's so cute," she then spotted Nanina and said wearily, "Hi Nanina I didn't know you were in here."

Nanina practically jumped out of her skin when Summer entered the stall. Standing quickly, she stumbled and had to ketch her balance using the wall. Gazing flickering to the hay loft, Nanina smiled crookedly. Hey, you two.

"Sorry if I scared you," Summer said not missing her gaze up at the hayloft and wondered how long she had been there and if she had heard what Summer had said to Xaiver.

It's fine. I was, uhh. . . just thinking. Nanina shifted her stance and tugged on the sleeves of her shirt. She looked at the colt, and kept her eyes there.

Esmeralda heard a burst of chatter coming from down a few stalls. Frowning, she came out of Sahara's stall. "What's with--" Then she blinked, looking at Xavier. "Oh. Hey. What's going on out here, some kind of party?"
Roman grinned a little. "Yeah, it is. Thinking about the horses again?" he asked kindly, pretty sure she was. He thought of something just then, that made him pause a little. "Hey, Kahlilia," he began uncertainly. He wasn't sure this was a good idea, but what else could he do? He had to know if Phoenix would be safe for other people once he left, or if the horse would just go back to the little monster he'd been. "Once we've started training Phoenix for jumping...or maybe even before..." He hesitated briefly, and then blurted it out. "Wouldyouliketotryridinghim? I mean, you know, it's just that I want to know if he'll be okay with other riders, because, well, training him is sort of pointless if he'll never be ridden again after this summer, so I was just wondering..."

Esmeralda's eyes lit up. "There's a new foal?" Then she shook herself. "Sorry. Hi, Summer. I'm Esmeralda. I went to town with Shannon earlier - probably why we didn't meet." That taken care of, she stuck her head into the stall and tilted it, looking to see if she could tell the foal's sex.
Colt, Summer had called it. But had she looked?
"It's a girl," she announced with a smile. Then she noted a little bit of paper folded and tucked into the side of the nameplate that read Kelly. She tugged it out.
"Hey, someone's even named her. Check this out," she said, showing the other three the paper.
In her brother's distinctive handwriting, it read neatly, And the new addition, Ariel.

Xavier smiled at Nanina when he saw her in the stall. "Hey, are you a horse whisperer now?" He joked to her, sensing the tension immediatly. He remembered how Summer had told him Nanina was mad about something, and that anger had made her leave the kitchen and bring the girls to their defeat in the wet paper towel war earlier. Oh well, he thought, its probably some girl stuff. He wasn't sure what exactly that was though...
Xavier chuckled when Esmeralda mentioned a 'party', and smiled at her. Luckily, even though he was standing by three girls, he didn't puff up his chest. Instead, he stayed quiet, listening to the conversation and holding Summer's hand.
Kahlilia smiled. "Yeah," She admitted. "I am." She tucked a strand of loose hair behind her ear and looked up at Roman curiously. She hesitated, thinking, and a person could swear with their life that steam came out of her ears. Then, she looked back up, nodded, and said, "Yeah. Thats actually a really good idea." She wondered what it was like riding Phoenix. She already felt up high riding Benvolio, and Phoenix was two or three feet taller. But, what was the harm in trying?
