::Sasamie walked over to Tanpopo until her face was inches away from Popo~Chans. She began to speak and as she spoke she clapsed her hands together for a moment then seperated them. Sasamis hands glided across Popo~Chans neck then around it as she fastened a chain that had a single crystal dangling from it around Tanpopos neck.:: Forever from my heart to yours we are linked. Not by mere words or objects but by our souls. Never forget this my sister. ::Sasami then moved back slightly as a smile crossed her face. Sasami then reached in her clothing she was wearing and pulled out her necklace, that she was wearing that was identicle to the one she just gave to Tanpopo, and held it up so Popo~Chan could see it.::

Popo smiled. A few tears escaped her eyes. "For me?" Popo leaped towards Sasami and hugged her tight. "Thank you, Sasami! Thank you!" Popo had nothing to give her, but instead decided to one day repay Sasami for her kindness. She had no money and nothing to sell, but she would...someday..

::Sasami fell back onto the ground as Tanpopo practically tackled her. Laughing a bit as she hugged Tanpopo. Sasami looked at her newly acquired sister and for that moment she was content.::

Popo, hearing Sasami and sensing her own silliness, giggled a bit, too. She hugged for another moment and then rose. She asked, "Do you have any chores I can help you with? I don't know what to do with my time anymore. I could help you! I would love to help you!" Popo's eyes gleamed at the chance to help Sasami out with her chores. She waited for Sasami's response.

Popo, curious to see what it was, look intently and listeningly upon Sasami waiting to hear what she had to say. She did not understand what Sasami meant and was anxious to find out. In the deep recesses of her mind, she imagined what Sasami would tell her and that news would kill her. But this was not a prominant thought in her mind. Popo was hardly conscious of its existence. She concentrated instead upon listening and being a good friend to her best friend, Sasami.

::Sasami refocused her gaze upon Tanpopo their eyes locking as she began to speak.:: I have been made a Maiko in this Okiya. ::Sasamis words barely made it past her lips flowing into the air and echoed, shattering the deafening silence in the empty room in which they both stood. Her heart pounded and her mind was a blur, though Sasami's outter appearence seemed calm and collective as Sasami hardly ever showed anytype of emotion, as she waited for Tanpopo's response.::

Popo eyes filled with tears. She ran out of her room and outside. She hid to where no one could find her and silently wept. Popo thought to herself, '...tondemonai--this can't be..what do I do now..? what can I do now..? oh god! this is a sign, isn't it, papa? you don't want me to be happy,..do you? i should just go home...i must leave this place...papa--you were right..this is not the life for me and i have failed.. i am not good enough for this life...i am not good enough for anything.' Thoughts of what she would do next raced through Popo's mind. The most prominant thought was to run away, but she knew not how...she was too afraid. Popo could not understand why she was not good enough and felt as though she had to leave--leave any way she could.. This is now Popo's dilema.

::Quite upset with herself Sasami walked out of the room in search of Tanpopo. Standing in the middle of the hall she looked left then right. Sasami then closed her eyes as she concentrated on her necklace. She then opened her eyes and walked outside. Once in the clean crisp air she turned around looking for her 'sister'. Sasami then began to speak.:: Popo~Chan why do you hide from me come here. Why do you cry so? This changes nothing between us you know this. We are still here together. As we we will always be. Has our promise of the heart left you so soon? Do you not believe what I have told you? Do you no longer desire my company? ::Sasami stood there talking as she knew Tanpopo would hear her. Sasami just stood there waiting for a response.::

Popo replied, ' 'tis not you--just leave me alone..' She did not want to speak to Sasami. She was too upset and distraught. Popo knew in her heart that her relationship with Sasami would not last much longer because Sasami and her could not really be friends. Popo was saddenned and could not be comforted. She felt as though she had failed in some way because she was not yet a maiko. In her dreams, she and Sasami were together as they moved up in rank from maid to maiko to geisha. Popo never foresaw Sasami moving ahead without her and it hurt. Popo was there slightly before Sasami, she was best friends with Sasami--Popo could not understand why they would not move ahead as maiko together, especially have the same older sister since they were so close. All the dreams Popo had of this were shot down, ripped to shreads, nothing more than a chiild's fantasy. Popo felt as though she had no more reason to stay...would she?

::Sasami sighed at bit at Tanpopo's request for her to leave. Sasami was not happy not one bit and walked to the steps of the Okiya and sat down. Here she would wait.::

Popo began to weep. Sorrow overcame her soul and her being. She did not understand why she was not good enough and why she was perpetually waiting to become a maiko. Popo continued to think of her dreams in which Sasami and her grew up together like real sisters. She was saddenned that this dream would never come to pass. Popo missed her two sisters dearly and Sasami was her hope at having that relationship once more. But never could it come to pass, Popo thought. Popo rose and walked to Sasami and collapsed upon her and wept. She could no longer suffer alone and needed her 'sister' even more now than ever. Popo simply wept.

::Sasami gathered up Tanpopo into her arms and held her close as Popo~chan cried. Sasami knew no words would comfort her at this time so Sasami spoke none. She simply waited as she knew only time would make things better.::

Overtime, Popo's weeping subsided. She grew tired and ran out of tears to weep. She held onto Sasami tightly until her body gave out. Popo collapsed into sleep, her energy drained by her emotional strain. She did not dream this sleep--there were no more dreams for Popo.. the dreamer had nothing to dream of...

"Ah, I see. I wish you much luck with the Maiko. She is to become a Geisha soon then?" Sadayakko refilled Luna's cup with a graceful flourish she hoped one day to impress an audience with. Her only luck within the world of geishas seemed to be her unusual emerald eyes, but apart from that, she knew she was little more than any other maiko. She'd resigned herself long ago to the fact that she would never be a great geisha, though she still couldn't quite let go of those midnight dreams that played through her mind when sleep eluded me. "Perhaps someday you and your father will be allowed to see each other once more." She did not add that it was highly unusual for that to happen; the maiko looked so happy and hopeful. Of course, Sadayakko was also somewhat embittered by life.
((ooc: Luna, as a maiko, you no longer need to leave up post numbers))
