Tails groaned. He hadn't told Telia yet because she'd have snatched them up too soon and Blizz wouldn't get to watch the Torchic try the boy's nerves. That was clearly the reason, and no amount of dancing around the topic would convince him otherwise. "How about Tristen?" he asked.

"Mudkip maybe felt some electricity coming off him," Tails offered. "When they're young, they don't actually have that insulation, right? Not until they're about to evolve."

He took another bite, but never took his eyes off the Torchic at roost in his lap. This Pokemon needed something to inspire some chickspicion, and he couldn't decide what it could be.

"Torchic usually get distracted at anything that looks like it doesn't belong," Tails said, in such a tone that suggested he spoke from experience. "Some people keep things like clods of dirt and clay or compost or something so they can be...I dunno. Suspicious at. And bars for them to stand on and make that peeping noise."

"Your mouth says sixteen, but your body says twelve," Chaos sneered, referring to that one time she was in the bathroom naked with the door wide open. Dan was there, he could verify. Maybe.

"Well, as long as you don't push yourself too-

"Huh. Now that's a theory I'd love to te-"

"No."

Chaos and I exchanged glares. "She just got here, man. At least let the poor girl get settled in before you start waving your unmentionables all over the place."

Chaos said nothing for a long moment, and we proceeded to exchange glares. "The waiting game it is, then," he said finally with an unhealthy smirk as he leaned back into his seat.

Lykas smirked at Freya. "Oh, of course. It's too bad my shirt always lands on it when Odd tears it off me." He teased before looking to Alice. "That's right, a hidden camera. Your big sister's a big pervert that likes to spy on me and my boyfriend when we're alone." He told her, sounding every bit like someone offended by such an indecent thing.

Odd would walk through the door about this time, smirking at Lykas. He already knew what the boy was up to. "Ya, sorry about that, Freya. I just like to keep you guessing at what we're up to." He stated as he walked over and gave Lykas a light kiss on the cheek. "You're not being evil are you?"

"Of course not!" Lykas countered. "Chaos is the evil one. I'm just an unemployed minion. You ought to know that by now." He was smiling from ear to ear when he said it, of course. "I can only be an annoyance on my own." This was entirely a lie but it was fun to pretend, sometimes.

Alice's face got bright red and she looked to her sister, hiding most of her face in her hands. Freya sighed, looking to the blonde sister.

"You don't actually believe them, do you? It's a joke. I don't actually have a hidden camera in their room." She explained, watching Alice's expression turn from embarrassed horror to confusion to relief.
"O-oh ..." All the sisters continued to ignore Chaos.

"Now don't be like that, Tails. Who knows. Torchic may end up helping you out someday." I said to him. "Heck, you could probably teach him a thing or two."

"Huh. I don't think I've ever heard that name on a Pokemon before. It's barely a name, but..."

"I think it's nice..."

Al would see Keiko and me as we walked into the main lobby, both of us contemplating the new name Al bestowed on his Togetic.

"Sorry about that, we heard you on our way over here," I explained.

Once we returned from the contest, Keiko let her Ledian out, so it could stretch out and rest. "I really have no idea what to name him," Keiko admitted finally.

"Just take some time to think about it," I told her. "A name will come to you eventually."
