If I may, in my experience, group leadership works better than a single leader. For one thing, the responsibility is split up, which reduces stress for everyone.
The size of this group really depends on the size of the guild. I think that having one person added to this think tank for every 50 or so members is a pretty good number. It's kind of like how in the government there are a number of representatives in relation to the population of the state.
I don't know any of you very well, so I can't say who would be ideal for a role in the group, but I think that it would be the best option.
Edit: Members of the group would need to decide decisions based on what is best for the guild, and put aside their personal opinions. So you'd have to choose leaders that would be able to do that.

Sunny doesn't show up often BECAUSE of all this drama, maybe once things return to a semblance of normalcy she'll come back, but she wouldn't want to be leader and I don't blame her

Caring is thinking with your heart  I don't think we should leave the entire guild to one person. A group of people could share responsibility, can't be influenced by a girlfriend or anything, and, if if the majority of the "council" agrees on something, it's safe to say that the majority of the guild would agree. Think hard.

I agree with Des. Also, Sunny and Arc isn't happening, so it's either LF or council. ALso, just putting this out there, the E4 and champion would make the best council, and if the guild gets big enough, the entire league.

Like you're less than f*cking perfect.  Personally I'm sick to death of this drama too. I love almost everyone involved and I'm just tired of feeling like I'm always walking on eggshells. Here's my idea, if you'll even think to consider it.
One person is the guild Captain. He's the one who makes sure the guild doesn't start to fall apart like it is now. Makes sure there's no cracks in the wall. The Vice Captains are like the Captain, they can carry out some jobs that the Captain does, but all in all, the Captain is the head honcho. Then there's the Mods, who advise the Vice Captains and Captain and carry out some other jobs. And I think it's stupid that we promote anyone who becomes a gym leader or Elite Four member to the crew just because they're good at competitive battling. The Leaders and Elites can be candidates to be in the crew though. Lastly, any decisions made by the crew, such as advice, new plans, or even the idea of a new plan, MUST be announced. It keeps the guild up-to-date, without any fluctuations.
This started with a joke, and ended with a nightmare. Both sides are wrong, but both sides must make it right.

so then the E4 is all about power in the guild?
I think the league and guild consil should be seperate, your ranking in the league should be based purely on battle ability.
Where the council should be comprised of the most trusted members...
