Kozo, the way to turn them down is to erase their memories about anything related to your art skillz. THat's what I do! Or just keep your abilities on the low, hidden as trump cards, so whenever they need such talents, and no one seems worthy, you can step from the shadows and yell with fervor: "I am the man for the job! I shall save the day with my uber-art! From this day on, call me Mediumboy!"
Or something like that, your choice. You could also imagine they were asking something really nasty and unethical and downright say "NO YOU FREAK" and run away screaming incoherently in the tubes. Works just as well!
Woo! RPs! And Val, it's better having a few profiles and a decent quantity of people post than the profiles of almost everyone in the guild and one person post! Imma check it out, since I need to get ways more active 'round here.
Edit: Okay, so how can we give histories to people we know nothing about? If we're all to be Drifters, we should know what a Drifter is, shouldn't we? Or can we just write a vague enough character and have his/her outlines get clearer as the story goes? And what kind of enhancements are there?

Maph Necathys Edit: Okay, so how can we give histories to people we know nothing about? If we're all to be Drifters, we should know what a Drifter is, shouldn't we? Or can we just write a vague enough character and have his/her outlines get clearer as the story goes? And what kind of enhancements are there? I knew that it was somewhat paradoxical. Well, we aren't all going to be Drifters immediately, but most are. As for histories, just keep in mind that the Drifters are a nomadic people and are raised like normal people are (only in a nomadic way, if that makes sense). Plus, there is just about any kind of enhancement you can dream of (just don't go crazy with 'em, and limit yourself to one or two). I'm not looking for much in the history section, keep it nice and vague. Piques interest that way, and surprises are always fun.

Then I just need to think about those tribes that wander the desert in literature and history? That's fair enough.
And about enhancements, I was just wondering if it was anything like cyberpunk, where you get those android prosthetics and the like. Is it nanites, automated limbs, genetic manipulation or can it be something granted through that Drifter mutation, if there is indeed one?
Sorry I'm asking so many questions though. The idea is very interesting, and I just want to get it right and not screw it up >.>

YAY! NEW RP! Oh and the return of LOTD! Oy Bonkers, how's FLCL workin' for yeah?
I'll go take a look at that new RP.
I also think I found a way to speed up art production. What used to take me a week now takes about a day. ^_^ I've learned that sometimes, fewer layers is really more. blaugh ...bad news too though, it looks liek I'm not gonna get to go to AI after all. $35,000 for tuition and other expences is just too much for me. This is kind of a drag, but that's just how things are I guess. *shrugs* I guess I'll jsut have to find another school and work twice as hard just to show 'em eh? ^_^

Maph Necathys And about enhancements, I was just wondering if it was anything like cyberpunk, where you get those android prosthetics and the like. The idea is very interesting, and I just want to get it right and not screw it up >.> All of the above, as far as the first paragraph goes (except for the mutations). Sometimes it's even a combination of nanites and automated limbs, in case of damage to said limb, the nanites can repair it (depending on the quality of the nanites, it could actually do it rather quickly).

It doesn't work that way! The system will never let you go! You will feel the illusion of freedom, but one day, ONE DAY you shall feel the pull, feel the skin of your back stretch as an intangible force grows stronger and takes you back to this world! There is no escape! I once tried, I once felt the cool wind in my hair, but the smell of colitas rising always followed me, and lured me back to this HELL! YOU CAN RUN, BUT THE GAIA WILL ALWAYS HAVE YOU! ALWAYYYS!
Eh, too much? Well I'm sad to say I haven't gotten around to know you better, and now you're leaving. sad Well, if you've got to leave, can't say anything, can I? Hope you'll not lose your poise as the Real World hits in in your tender parts! Though of course, you might not be as far gone into this place as, let's say, the shapeless drone that once was the man behind Maph Necathys. Like whoa, this blows my mind. I should lay off the cold medicine >.>
Cookies! Tis a great parting gift indeed. Fare thee well, Goobie! Please, do visit your kindred! Remember your blood brothers and sisters!
And Val, thanks for the answers, I'll have a profile up shortly enough!
