Ceon put a finger to her lips as she spoke, "We'll talk later, let's just get you three settled in first." Ceon picked up Gabriel and put him on his shoulders and headed off to Gabriel's old room. The room was spotless when he walked in, all the toys put away, not a single bullet hole or drop of blood was on the walls or floor.

Layna followed them, her fingers brushing the black hair from her daughter's forehead. She was overly exhausted after they had left the airport, entering New York, feeling the tense air, seeing none of her kind wandering as they once had. She watched Gabriel's face light up as he looked at his old crib with the stuffed animals still laying in haphazard piles. "Teddy!" He squeaked. It had been over a year since he had had childish things, learning the way of how it was to live among a pack, growing among others who learned as he did.

Ceon chuckled as Gabriel hugged his teddy bear tight against him. "I thought you'd miss your room." He walked out of Gabriel's room and sat down on the bed in his room, the pain in his rib still coursing through him.

Layna followed him aimlessly. She wasn't sure what to say or do. "Ceon...I'm truly sorry for what I have done...I hope you understand that..." She murmured. "I...Didn't want to return here...I wanted to stay away..." She buried her face into her sleeping child's hair, smelling the comforting scent of cedar and grass.

Ceon kept his head hung low, hurt by these words, "I know, love, and I understand, but we'll fix up the place. We'll make it look nice again, and we'll be a family once more."

Layna nodded slowly. "Please forgive me for all that I've done... Everything is wrong. I'm bad...horrible and messed up. I chose to find another, because....because I lost all hope. And then...I gained truth and happiness once more. You think Razu was the only one who mended me. He wasn't." She murmured, her mind full of peace at the thought of the Angel who had taken care of her.

Completely forgetting all that Layna had told him about the angel in the past years, his fists clench, but he held a calm gaze at the floor. "W....who?"

Layna blinked and set Maria upon the bed, covering her lightly with the blankets. "No one really. I guess you could call him a good friend. He's kind and thoughtful and loves those who are warm." She said with a small laugh. At lest that was her impression. She could still remember the phantom embrace, the comfort that went through her body. And yet, it had been so horribly dark, and she had been unable to see a thing. She remembered feeling strong, so strong, strange cold filling her, and yet, she relished it.

Ceon put a finger to Layna's lips, "Layna........shut the hell up. Nobody wants to hear about your real/imaginary friend, especially me. I've heard enough of people comforting you to write a friggin' novel." Ceon's brow furrowed, the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. He was infuriated at the fact that Layna was so bold to talk about this to him, especially after he had caught Layna kissing Razu in Central Park.

Layna quickly silenced herself, her skin cold as Ceon once again told her to be quiet. She found it irksome as he spoke, that he treated her like a little child. "Sorry..." She muttered. She set down the bag of small belongings that she had brought with her, and pulled out a tube of lotion. She sighed quietly, and went into the bathroom, flicking on the light. She lifted her shirt to expose her sore stomach again, the scar still a puckered line of red. It hadn't been that long since Maria was born. She pulled the cap off the tube and rubbed some of the lotion on the scar. It was regular lotion, just to help the scar become less visible, no mater how terrifying the memories were that caused her the phantom pain. She hummed quietly, trying to tune out all that had occurred, and was occurring inevitably.

The moment Layna left the room, Ceon darted forward to the wall, and tore down the shot up picture of Razu and discarded it in the trash. Seeing that picture would either piss her off again, or make her feel compelled to visit that arrogant son of a b***h (pun intended xd ). Ceon then walked into Gabriel's room to find his son trying to race tiny toy cars with his sister. Ceon chuckled as Maria simply picked up the car and dropped it on the carpet, then giggling as it hit the floor.

Layna dropped her shirt back into place, and walked from the bathroom with a huff. She was exhausted, but felt too alert to leave her small daughter alone with Ceon yet. She didn't care whether it was his daughter or not. She wouldn't let her child be put through what Gabriel was growing up. She slowly walked toward her son's room, hearing the soft giggling of her children reaching her. She loved that noise. Her son's happy laughter, ad her daughter's soft trill. She stared into the room at them, keeping a fair distance away from Ceon, a nervous feeling passing through her.

Ceon looked at Layna, thinking to himself all of the emotional and physical damage he caused her. It was because of him that Maria gave Layna that scar. It was because of his fury and lust that he took Layna that night. But he had also done so many good things for the family. He provided Layna with two beautiful children, protected Layna when she was pregnant withe Gabriel, and always brought food to the table. He was taken out of his thoughts as Maria pinched her finger on the wheel and plastic of the tiny car. She began to cry loudly, and Ceon instantly scooped her up in his arms, kissing her pinched finger.

Layna felt her body stiffen as Ceon picked up Maria, even Gabriel was dumbstruck. She watched her daughter especially, who's face held shock, surprise, fear, even dislike. She pulled her finger backwards to hold against herself, blinking dark grey eyes. She looked over at her mother, questioning as to why this rather unknown person had picked her up. "Ceon..." Layna muttered as Maria looked at her. "She doesn't know you enough. She's scared..." She said softly.

Ceon didn't want to believe it, but what Layna said was true. Maria didn't even know her own father, and who's to blame Layna for not wanting Maria to know the truth. After all, Layna surely wanted to kill him after the way Maria had been conceived. He handed Maria over to Layna slowly and gently. "Then maybe she should start knowing about me," He said in a serene voice.
