Arcadian Can he get an NAP set up between our Alliances? I'm not sure. He says the members of his alliance don't talk or coordinate much, so I don't think he pays much attention to them. He is the fourth largest member currently in his alliance, so that might help if I can get him to ask. I prepaid for his ticket so we can go see Harry Potter later today, so maybe I can hold that over his head. wink (Sadly not really. He's one of those "difficult" people who flat out refuses to do something if he senses the slightest whiff of emotional blackmail... *sigh* No fun at all!) Balc: Talk about giving the rest of us a massive inferiority complex!

I need to post an update too; I'll get on that today or tomorrow.
Also, my hero's mansion is at level 6 and I'm considering going for an oasis in the next few days. Anything I should know? About how many troops should I prepare? What type of oasis should I look for? How far away from my village can an oasis be in order to be claimed?

Nature is a harsh mistress. You might want to ask one of the big guys to send an army down and make one of the oases more managable for you. If you center the map on your city, all oases that you can see you can take.

If you click on the oasis square you can see the defensive forces you'll need to overcome. Something like e.g. 44 rats, 38 spiders, 24 bats. Then as Arc says use combat sim to check your chances. Also as mentioned it has to be in your 7x7. As far as oasis types to consider, the types that give wheat in addition to another resource are always to be preferred, if you can get them. Also, boosting a resource that you have more production tiles in is generally more advantageous, e.g. if you have a 5 clay, 4 wood, 3 iron village, boosting your iron production by 25% will give you less net resources than boosting your clay production by 25%.

I like what you've done with the "In Progress"/"Maxed" distinctions, to be perfectly honest. Though, in that case Cranny1 should be removed from the Progress column. Out of curiousity, how crowded for space is your second city, are all slots filled up? I've been holding off on building my Iron Foundry in mine for fear of wanting the space later and having to demolish it. Or is it only the Capital that gets so ridiculously cramped because you can't afford not to build a Stonemason in the only place that can have one? I'm also kind of dreading needing to build a second warehouse for some of the expensive buildings' final stages, and trying to make sure I'll have room for it when I need it.

I had to make the distinction when I started getting confused myself. Yes, the L10 cranny needs to be snipped. At one point that city had 2 crannies... one was demolished and replaced with a Stable. Both Rising Phoenix and Phoenix Haven are filled. Firebird Rising is sparsely settled indeed... infrastructure has been put on hold while I try to crank up the Residence to get Settlers. Given the 'demolish' option that becomes available at Main Building L10, I quit trying to save space. When I get to that point I'll pick something redundant and nuke it.

I'm not sure I like this whole splitting into quadrants in the forum yet. I feel so left out, like no one cares about whether someone in a different quadrant knows what's going on with them, or is given the same information or advice. *sniffle* Maybe it's just that I was sick today and am still inclined to mope and feel unloved. Balc, since you're quadrant leader, I demand attantion and focus and strategizing! emo
