Sukutu looked at Mwali and raised an eyebrow before getting up, stretching his long limbs before he shook his pale mane and walked over to the nearest puddle of murky water that there was to Pride Rock, still speaking as he did.
"No Mwa'...it dosen't matter....he left the Pride Lands never to return...he went in the direction of the Elephant grave yard anyway...poor guy...."
As he reached the puddle he then leaned down, lapping at the cool refreshing water before sighing as it hit his rough dry tongue and throat, it had been a really long time.
But as he looked into the puddle, he saw that half his face was covered by his mane, strange, it must've grown longer, he hadn't looked at himself in a while now so-...wait a minute...his body had grown too...so had his paws, his maw, his tail, everything had grown!!!
His head shot up and he looked at himself, his pale violet eyes looking at his huge paws...oh no...he couldn't be? But he knew he was...HE WAS AN ADOLESCENT ALREADY!!!!
He looked up and then suddenly yelled loudly, almost roaring as he ran around, looking at himself in disbelief.
"Oh no!" He kept saying over and over again. "Oh no oh no oh no oh no OH NO!!!!!"

((Ok, im gonna make a little messenger bird to bring the news k?)
Jasiri shaunterd in lazily, heaving a loud sigh. It had been a long day. She turned her head and stared out a the sunset. All seemed peaceful...wait..what was that? She could see a small dark shape moving towards pride rock. The looked back to Sukutu and the others, wondering for a moment what he was so excited about. Then she spun around and ran towards the black figure. When she got close, she found that the figure was a young, tired look black bird. The bird was flying slowly, and it looked like it was about to drop out of the air, but it still persisted. "Hey, you!" Jasi yelled towards the bird. The bird eyed her warily before droping towards a low branch above Jasiri's head, and panting heavily. "W-what...do..you w-want? I h-havent m-uch t-time. M-must d-deliver a m-messege to the p-prince." Mwali? This bird was sending news from the Firekin? Jasiri's stomach churned. "Please sir, let me deliver the messege the rest of the way, I know Mwali, and will be abile to bring it to him." The bird hesitated and finnaly caught his breath, but he was still extremely tired. It wasnt long before it gave in. "Tell the Prince there has been a plauge in his lands that has killed the King and the leading heir. If he wishes to come and claim the throne, he may do so." Kiu dead!? Jasiri's heart skipped two beats. But what about the cubs and Kimondo?
Jasi thanked the bird, and raced off towards the cave to give news to Mwali. How would Mwali take that his father and only brother were dead...? The sickening feeling in her stomach worsend as she reached the cave. She slowly made her way past Sukutu, giving him a small uneasy grin. She stopped infront of Mwali, her eyes grave. "I have bad news Mwali..." She hesitated for a moment. "You father and brother have died in a plauge..." She choked on the last words barley getting them out.

Mwali had been lounging about, perfectally content in the warm sun along his great firey body and the cool of the grass along his sides. Fully recovered the prince was back to the more comfortable things in life- that is when he wasn't trying to impress Koho with more hunting attempts which ultamately resulted in hunting -lessons- from her. Not that he minded. It was more time to be with her, more to learn about her and how to court her later on if he ever grew the nerve to do so. An ear rotated back at the approaching sound of another, turning he smiled to his "little sister", his emerald eyes watching her as she moved closer. They were getting to big... his little ones.
Bad news?, for a moment he looked more confused than anything, rolling himself forward to listen to her announcement. As she informed him of the situation with his family his mouth slowly fell open, his ears drooping and his eyes began to glass over. It seemed everything around him slowed and came to a complete stop as his heart leapt into his throat, choking him and robbing him of the ability to speak.
Kui.... he had died? He had expected his father to have died, in fact he fled the firekin lands in hopes that his father would pass while he was gone.... only to return when his brother was king. Kui was the chosen of the two heirs to the pride. He was strong and proud, he would have been a magnificant leader and more likely than not he might have been the one to listen to reason and perhaps end the feud between the firekin and the others so they could live in peace. But now... he was dead. Mwali had left Kui without any sort of farewell... any sort of anything really. Guilt stabbed at the lion's every emotion. The tears fell freely from his eyes as he forced himself to a stand.
He looked around himself, almost wishing there would be someone to tell him what to do, "... n...not dead...." he said through a choking voice, closhing his eyes and lowering his head, "Kui....." He had been kind, Mwali could recall the days in the desert playing with his brother. They both pretended for so long to be gods themselves, ruling over the desert side by side. "...no...."

Doomi [[Sorreh for being dead-like. The hiatus gave me a chance to catch up with some RL stuff, anyway, Jasiri will probably want to go with Mwali, cause there all somewhat of a family, and Jasi wouldn't want to leave Mwali (Unless Mwali and Koho want some...alone time wink ) And she could be a big help with the kids.]] (( eek Uh oh xd )) MidnyghtIce *flops* I'm gonna be poor when this bidding war is over.... anyone wishing to help me with winning my first lineart so I can hopefully start a shop is welcome to contact me over pms, we're at 132k at the moment, and she doesn't show signs of stopping.... The now adolescent lion whacked his head against a stone, this could not be happening to him...not now! Thing's could not get any worse then thi-...however, his heart seemed to stop as he saw Jasiri walk past...was that Jasiri? Little juvenile Jasiri??? It couldn't be!! She was so...beautiful!!
His eyes watched her, listening to her before his heart thudded back to life at the sudden news, completely forgetting about the thoughts that had now been flushed out of his mine.
He looked at Mwali and then hung his head, a sort of show of respect before he slowly trotted over and placed his paw on the red lions back, looking at him sorrofully.
"Mwali..." He said in a low tone of voice. "I'm so sorry..."
His pale violet eye's then turned to Koho before going back to the blubbering prince, he didn't mind if he cried, let him, it'll be good for him to just let him cry out his pain.

[[Ooh, auction. Im also gonna participate in a auction. Im very bad at auctions though, so im probably gonna lose xp heart ]]
Jasiri's eyes where now also filled with tears for Mwali. She knew what it was like to lose a loved one. She brushed against Mwali's side, her tears mixing with his bright red coat. "What will we do Mwali? The Firekin will be looking for a new king, and the only other heir is one of Kiu's cubs. We must go to the Mwali, and help take care of the cubs." She hoped this news would not add to much more to Mwali's already heavy burden. She loved Mwali very much, and it was extremly hard to see him like this, but it was also hard to think of the cubs without a father. She sat next to Mwali, uttering soothing words to him. Oh the devestaion...

He sat himself down again, his great head lowering down to the point where he very nearly got it inbetween his massive forepaws, tears pouring freely from his eyes to the ground. It had grown suddenly cold all around him. Feeling the comforting paws and nuzzles of the two caused him to look up just slightly, his tear-glassed eyes moving from one to the other. They had grown... if the circomstances were different he would congradulate them both but he could hardly choke out any words reguarding his own fix. He buried his face into a shoulder, trying in vain to rid his face of the tears. King... he wans't a king. No one in his pride expected him to ever have to suit the throne. He knew nothing of their old ways, nothing of how to rule over anyone. He knew how to boss them around, he did a good deal of that in his bratty youth but now he couldn't dare face them. They'd probibly kill him if it weren't for his pure royal blood. He'd fallen in love with a pridelander- just like Kui had. What would they think of that? Surely Kui died with that secret to protect his cubs...
The cubs! He got to his feet quickly again, his legs shaking- it seemed he couldn't make up his mind on anything. They were out there... all alone in the desert. There was no grown male after him. He shook his head and slowly began pacing, muttering things to himself, "I'm not a king... I'm not... what to do.. Oh Kui you fool, damn you for leaving me here... of all the luck... the cubs... I can't- but I... no ... but...."

Jasi got up an followed Mwali. This must have been so stressful for him. Jasiri knew in her heart that Mwali couldnt be a king...especially of a pride that kills there own just because they leave. "Mwali, lets atleast go and tend to the cubs, they are probably older now, but still might need our help. Then we will sort out this thing about a king." Her voice was calm, but her eyes were uneasy. Her tears became a slow trickle, but the pain still remained.

He paused in his pacing, letting himself simply fall to the ground and cover his face with his paws. They'd never accept him... he had left, that was trechery- and when they most needed him. Kui probibly died with spite in his heart for his brother, shame in being his brother, and anger that he had left. If anything he wished to see him one last time... to say a farewell of some sort. His cubs were left behind through, Mwali knew he couldn't turn his back on them. Firekin or not they were cubs.... they'd need him there. But he coudln't think of leaving the pridelands. He had found peace, he'd found acceptiance, and he'd found love- at least on his side. What would Koho say? Would she leave with him? Gods he coudln't think of living without seeing her, hearing her laughter at his latest attempt to impress her, or feeling her warm body laying beside his as they watched the sky and she told him of all the stories passed down in her pride.
"I'm scared, Jasiri....", was about all he could choke out. Somehow the great lion had managed to curl himself up and give himself the appearence of a massive cub- helpess and defenseless as to what to do.

Jasiri slumped next to Mwali. "I know Mwali...so am I." And it was the truth. She swore she would never go back to those terrible lands. She would probably become a slave for real this time, and there would be no means of escape. She licked the salty tears off Mwali's cheeks, and gave him the biggist grin she could muster. "But think of your neices and newphews! They must miss there big softy of an uncle! And who will raise them if not there father? Mwali, we can help them. I know its hard, but what would Kiu want you to do? Stay here and fester in this cave while his cubs starve alone in the desert? No! Plus, ill be there to protect you." She nuzzled into his big soft red coat.

He nuzzled her softly, trying to compose himself if nothing else. She had more of a reason to fear reaturning than he did. When they left she was to be a slave- going back they were faced with the same posibility. I won't let it happen..., he thought to himself, a bit of strength rousing somewhere inside of him, If I'm to return to them they'll learn to do things for themselves. Slavery only creates weaklings like me... I'll be their example of why they have to learn on their own. He took a deep breath, using the back of his paw to clear the rest of the tears from his face, "No Jasiri... I have to protect myself... and you if you're to come with me. I can't hide forever from what I... I... have to be...", his ears drew back against his mane again, "I can't promise you that I can keep even myself safe- but I can promise that there will be no slavery in that pride anymore. If they kill me over the matter than I've died for a far more noble cause than Kui.... at lest I can best him at that."

"And so will I..."
A male voice said, Sukutu standing next to Mwali and looking at him, his pale violet eyes looking at the both of them as he didn't hear what the red lion seemed to say.
"I'm coming with you two..." He said abruptly, his change of age must've changed his way of seeing things, right now if Mwali was scared and Jasiri was scared then Koho would worry, he didn't like Koho being worried...so with him being an adolescent what was to stop him from protecting them?

Mwali turned up towards Sukutu, a soft grateful smile coming to his maw. Glancing between the two brown lions he laughed a bit, it was a pathetic sound really but considering the circomstances he was allowed to it at least once in his life, "You two are fools..." he laughed, obviously trying to sound like his old self, "But bless you both..." He reached his paw up to push aside a bit of the mane that had fallen into his face, clinging to his damp cheeks, "Very well... you can come along." He drew in a long, deep breath, turning to face pride rock, "... I would be lying if I were to say I won't miss this place..."
