Perhaps he was after information on who was trying to save the kings daughter. That would put the king into a blind truth.

"I could see him going after information," Cy says, "but then the King would likely suggest we place some kind of spell on you to prevent you from saying anything you shouldn't. That doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I'm not really sure why there'd be a break-in if the intruder wanted to save the king's daughter. Couldn't they just save her alone?"

Who says they want to save her, all we know is he was after information about it so he could have been one of the kidnappers for all we know.
