(Edit: If I may make a suggestion, でしょう may have been more suitable for you there than ね; it implies more that you're making a guess.)

Mini-lesson smile でしょう (or its plain form, だろう) is a more tentative version of です. For example, you might say あかいでしょうか？ to say "it's red, right?" or あおいでしょう。for "I think it's probably blue."
