Astaroth nodded, it made sense. The more exposure to such things the more it would effect you. Jotting down the ideas and accompanying questions, the melancholic pursed his lips, it seemed Karma was a very thin line to walk - too much in either direction and you faced great consequences. Up by where he'd put in a title break for Karma, he added 'double edged sword'. It was fascinating how there seemed to be a web of intangible energy that linked very literally everything but tapping into that was a tricky business.
Raising his gaze to Eleuthero, his expression held new found respect. If this Empyrean taught Philosophy, he must be truly in tune with the karmic cycles. --- Daggart shook his head, quickly growing bored. How you lived your life determined what the outcome of a situation would be. It made a great deal of sense to him. Sigh a sigh, he scribbled on his paper and cast his gaze around, catching the bored expressions of a few of the others. Good, it wasn't just him then. ---
Outside in the hallyways, Kallisto sat with Yambati, hanging close and making sure he was getting a bit of air. Several moments later, she smile and patted his knee, "Feeling better? I'll catch the end of class so we don't miss all the notes. I'll be just inside the door." She stood, lingering a moment to see if wanted to join her or not.

Gala listened to Eleuthero with a great intensity, rapt with attention. Her hands trembled as she attempted to take notes. It wasn't helping that she could sense their professor was just as uncomfortable with the subject as she was. Monsters. They lived in a world filled with dreadful monsters and violent, hateful people who lived and waited just outside their walls. There was a chance she could become one. And if she ran into any of them, the chance of this grew. Not that she ever had any intention of seeking out monsters or Outsiders, but now she felt that she would avoid such things like the plague.
Suspiciously, she cast a few glances around the room and wondered. Had any of these Empyrs been exposed? Were any of her classmates marked? Feeling extraordinarily concerned, Gala anxiously lifted a shaking and and inquired, "But professor, how can we tell for sure if an Empyr is Cursed? Do we have to know their past to be able to tell? Or are there any particular traits they will always display?" She hated to prolong discussion of this subject, but for her own reasons she needed to know.

Eleuthero fixed Galadrae with his glowing stare and inclined his head. "There are signs for those who are Broken. They have a very distinct behavioural pattern. They tend to speak in disjointed sentances, easily become lost in their own thoughts, hallucinate, talk to themselves or someone only they can see. Sometimes they suffer from sudden or violent mood changes, which are usually triggered by key words or circumstances. Your Mathematics Professor is a good example." Eleuthero sucked at his teeth for a long moment and then exhaled. "But there is no sign of the Cursed. Both the Cursed and Broken statii must be recorded in the Registry so that these things are common knowledge." Eleuthero slowly pulled himself to his bird-like feet and stretched out his feathered serpent's tail. "And that, my young ones, is an overview of Philosophy. I do hope that at least a few of you will persue it with some conviction. There are many texts in the Library which can further your understanding of the Pantheons, should you be interested. And if you develope any further questions, please feel free to come find me in the Teacher's Lounge." He gathered his pipe and box and began fastidiously cleaning the pipe bowl in preparation of putting it away.

The youth quickly penned down the Professor's last words with a curious arch of her brow. Their math teacher was a Broken? Ah, she would make heads or tails of that later; there was too much other information pressing around for dominance in her mind. Methodically putting her belongings away and tucking them in her arms, Arwen stood and made her way to the Professor's desk. There, she gave a polite curtsey, intoning softly, "Thank you, Professor. You've given me - if not all of us - a substantial amount to think about. I will look up references in the library at my earliest convenience."
That earliest convenience happend to be right now, and with another wistful smile, Arwen departed the classroom in a swirl of ebon and garnet skirts.

Broken...it was a frightening thought...And the truth of things was, he knew how easy a person could be broken, twisted, shredded and ripped apart without ever once touching them physically. Or at least he thought he did...could feel a taste of it, feared it, like some great looming creature bearing inexorably down on him.
Zethyr shook his head. All right, enough of that...it was time to find...and talk to Lior, another piece of the puzzle. Indigo eyes glanced about as he arose, began to gather his things and leave the room.

Aysel shivered lightly, unnerved. Paxar had frightened her like little else was able to, although she wasn't sure why that was..and she still didn't quite understand what it meant to be Broken, even with Eleuthero's explanation, but she was certain nevertheless that it was a truly terrifying thing.
Eyes darting for a final time toward her friends, Aysel sighed softly, shook her head, and began to slowly gather her things. This class had been interesting, to say the least, although her excitement over the subject matter had dimmed a bit by the end of it...at the mention of the Broken, and the Cursed. But...not one of those dear to her had come to even say hello. The only time even Antigone had said something to her was in response to a class-related comment that she had made. But...she wouldn't notice, she told herself sternly, her hand trembling slightly as she reached for her inkwell. It wouldn't do to show hurt, after all.

Abacus slowly stood up and began gathering his things, placing them into his bag except for his quill and parchment. His quill was given a quick wipe clean before being swiftly disappearing into the bag (hopefully without breaking it in the process), whereas his parchment received a quick fanning before another piece was carefully placed over it, then wedged between a couple books in his bag.
He had his few questions that he would like to investigate... But considering how many questions were asked earlier, he figured that it would be best to wait a bit before going to the library. It wouldn't do good to discover that the books he wanted to look into were taken, nor would it help him to become distracted by overhearing things he wasn't meant to hear, and taking a picture. Were cameras even allowed inside the library? He gave a shrug to himself and swung his bag upon his back, then left the classroom without a word.

Nadyrr listened to the professor's last words, frowning in thought he reached to gather up his things. Something about Philosophy struck him as the sort of class or study in which one had their own beliefs and shared them with others. Taking a moment he jotted down that idea down in his notebook, sharing of thoughts and ideas. Glancing over to Gala out of the corner of his eye he gave her a small shy smile. Leaning slightly he speaks softly now that the class was winding down. "Maybe we can talk a bit about the classes later on..."
He spoke very quietly and there was a strange fluttering of uneasiness from his heart as he whispered. But then he calmly collected himself from shying away and finished putting his few things together ready to throw them into his patchwork bag and head off to the next class.
Tapping her lip slightly Belwen sat considering for several long moments. The professor seemed deeply bothered by all the monster talk. Personally Belwen wanted to know a bit more about it; curiousity springing to her mind. Afterall knowing why or how someone became a monster sounded like a pretty good way of making sure that you didn't allow yourself or someone else fall down that same road.
A chilling thought came to Belwen as she mused, it would be horrible to have to destroy a monster that was created from someone that you had once cared for. For a moment she stares at her notebook her brilliant blue eyes wide. Then she takes a moment and writes a few notes down, she'd go and see if she could find a book or something about monsters and maybe what type of Empyrean becomes different types. Scrunching her nose slightly she wondered about those that kept monsters as pets...what if their pet had once been an Empyrean.
With a quick glance around, Belwen rather messily tossed her notebook a pen in her bag. She'd need to find someone to discuss the disturbing thoughts she was having with...later though.

Astaroth nodded and decisively shut his note book after jotting down the symptoms of Broken and the need for common knowledge for those who are cursed. Standing as he tucked the book into his bag, he glanced at Danna, wondering if she were finished yet. The next class would probably start up soon...
----
Daggart, thankful for the end, packed his things away and started for the door. While it was an interesting topic, Philosophy interested him very little. Too much abstract and not enough down to earth, in your hands learning. Smiling at Torrid, he gave a slight nod before starting off down the aisle.
---
Kallisto was glad she'd ducked in after all. Writing down the information, she nodded and slipped out once more, looking for Yambati. If she was correct, Botany would be next and that, she was certain, would do a world of good in cheering him up.

As Jaenelle packed up her parchment, ink and quill she contemplated all she had learned in Philosophy. From the very start she had been skeptical once realizing exactly what they were to learn about in this class. She had never before considered the pressense of ...omni-beings before and had never felt their touch or heard their voice.
Now, however, with valid proof of their existance and the knowledge given to her by the Professor, she couldn't just ignore it all. Resolute to dig further into the dilema in her mind Jaenelle decided she would absolutely have to research more in the Library. While she wasn't at a stage in her life where she could pray and mean it, the class had given her pause and something to consider.

Writing down the last of her notes, Yalitza looks over the paper shaking her head. When she thought about it, everything made sense. But at the same time she didn't know what to think anymore. Closing her notebook she stood grabbing her bag. Pulling the bag over her neck she place the notebook into her bag.
She was hoping the next class wouldn't leave her as confused as this one did. Tugging on the strap of the bag she slips away from her chair glancing around the other students. With a small bite of her lip she turns away making her way towards the door of the classroom.

Danna scribbled in her notebook a last few thoughts and ideas. As those around her began packing their things, Danna stood up and blew hastily over her page, inserting her blotter and hoping her notes didn't come out too smudged. She looked up to Astaroth with a weary smile. "Ready to go?" Cyphr gave the borrowed quill back to Blayk. "Thanks...I dinna really use it though..." Cyphr grinned and stood, pushing in his chair. "Canna I's walk with you to next class?" Cyphr asked, cocking his head to one side.

A chill went down Gala's spine as Eleuthero answered her inquiry. It was disturbing business, these Cursed and Brokens. She now found herself dreading her impending Mathematics class simply by the nature of it's professor. With lingering unease she slid out of her seat and hastily tossed her belongings back into her bag.
However, hearing Nadyrr speak to her once again put her jittery heart at ease, and she looked to him with as bright a smile as she could manage. "Yes, I think I'd like that." At least this class had done her one service for all the tension it brought to her; it had gotten her a new friend.
Once her things were stashed away, Gala scurried along after the rest of the departing crowd to get to their next class, almost tripping over her own feet along the way.

Ubel snapped out of a learning daze to gather up his things, blinking owlishly as he tried to focus once more. He hurriedly put his things in a bag, getting to his feet and heading for the door. For a moment, he turned to wait for Grave, only to laugh softly and a bit weakly as he recalled the other wasn't there. And so he went on alone to their next class.
Lior had been idly doodling during the last portion of class, sighing softly and looking quite bored. But he suddenly noticed everyone leaving and sat up straight before grinning and bouncing out of his seat, quickly packing his things up.

Nadyrr leaned slightly dropping his books into his bag, seeling Kallisto out of the corner of his eye he offered her a quick wave. With a quiet thought to himself that he should take some time soon to catch up with her. Turning toward the door he sees Gala heading for it; he had thought he saw Yalitza go out that way too. With a thought that both the girls were rather quiet and shy he decided he would introduce them to each other.
Spotting Ubel, he offers the other boy a smile and wave. Another person he promised himself he would catch up with. Though he had only been able to speak to Ubel for a short amount of time; that time had been helpful to getting him out of his shell. He knew that Ubel had something with Grave but thoughts of him gave him a pause to blush at times anyways. Shaking his head he went to the door to find Gala.
Moving along the hall he tried to catch up with Gala, lowering his voice he gestures ahead of them. "I don't know if you have met her yet. But that is Yalitza...I think you might like her if we can catch up."
Belwen took a moment to adjust her hair, then she took her bag up and looked over the room. The thought that there didn't appear to be any unattractive people in the room struck her; then again she believed that everyone could be beautiful. There were lots of people for her to meet...but her eyes fell to Danna.
She remembered the girl from the library, Danna seemed to have a few around her already but she hoped the girl had time to show her the way to the next class...and perhaps to introduce her to those around her. Moving over slowly Belwen offers Danna a quick wave and smile, "Hello again." Belwen then smiles to the two boys that were nearby.
