Raizel King $100 in wallet/$900 in bank Location: Bookworm's/Company: Everyone inside/Mood: Annoyed It had been rough morning for Raizel. First he hit his head in the shower when the tub tripped him up and now he was soaked from head to toe from the storm. Opening the door to the bookstore Raizel closed it fast behind him, he sighed and looked down at himself running his hand through his hair trying to get any excess water off of him. For some reason he didn't take his umbrella with him even though he watched the news and heard the rain when he woke up. "Seriously who just forgets their umbrella in something like this? Looking around he wondered if there was a bathroom or something the he could use to dry off so he didn't drip on any books when he started looking. Spotting an blonde-haired employee he made his way over to him and tapped his shoulder. "Ah pardon me, but do you have a restroom or something I could possibly dry off in? I don't want to drip on anything else."

The blond let go of the shelves, about to greet the newcomer, only to take in the sight of the brunet being drenched because of the rain. In response to the question, Ben was contemplating; there was no restroom available in Bookworm's, sadly, but should the access of the employee area be granted to the man? Considering that there was no other choice, he relented, "I'll let you have the access to the employees area, but under close supervision. Gotta make sure that there would be no thieves around." With that, he called his co-worker to take care of the task he had to leave behind for the sake of attending to the stranger. Nothing would be much worse than to let the person get sick.
The employee area was mostly empty except for the lockers, chairs and the area reserved for coffee and tea. Unfortunately, Benjamin would not allow the person to touch that area, as it was mostly reserved for the employees for their short breaks. Since there was the chance that the person may have to divest, he would still be close without having to stare at the person, mainly for privacy reasons. "Just let me know if you are done changing. I'll be outside," that was what he said before exiting the area, his back turned, but still close to the door.

After helping Raizel, the newcomer he met yesterday, with drying up, the brunette ended up ordering something, the interior designing manual that was actually on sale, and even stayed at the bookstore until the rain had calmed down temporarily. There was the casual banter going on about interesting topics, like sports, the food places, as well as the question about whether the umbrellas were sold in the store. Unfortunately, there were no actual umbrellas sold in the bookstore, but Ben decided to give Rai one of them as a freebie, which was actually part of the limited promo whenever a customer would purchase a certain amount of money's worth of products in a single receipt. Nothing too grand, but at least that would help in keeping clients safe from the rainy weather. At the end, numbers were exchanged, a promise of future meetings when time would permit soon enough.
Right now, the place was empty of customers, but Benjamin's day off would not start until tomorrow for this week, and then on Sunday. The half-demon was just done checking in the inventory and was now looking at the window. The rain splattered against the glass surface hard, and vehicles passed by with water splashing down on the asphalt road. All in all, most people would feel pissed off at the weather, but not Benjamin. He wouldn't mind the rain as long as there was water, the catalyst necessary for his magic. After an hour of being just with his co-workers, he ended resorting to having some tea, so he ended up departing to the employee area to fix a cup of it for himself.

{{{Strange situations, I get anxious >> Maybe I'll smile a bit, maybe the opposite >> But pray that they don't call me thankless}}} ☆═━┈┈┈┈Money: $1200┈┈┈┈━═☆With the rain coming down as hard as it was, Erin somewhat regretted leaving his apartment. Nothing would feel better in this weather than cozying up on the small bed he had with a good book and a cup of tea. Cliche. The petite bookworm who loves tea. But if there was anything Erin could describe himself as it would be cliche. Aside from his choice of clothing, the young man was seen as having very basic tastes. However, if one were to curl up with said book, then one would actually need to have a book worth reading. This was his purpose for braving the storm. Though Erin had only been swept up in the back end of it. When he had left his simple abode by the beach in the Etoile district, there was no more than a mere drizzle. He had expected the weather to be like it was yesterday, but it seems to have gotten worse. Luckily he had decided to take an umbrella if only to save his hair, but that was only moderately useful in preventing getting wet. Now, walking into the bookstore, the rain had gotten much heavier and soaked Erin nearly to the bone before he was able to make it into Bookworm's.
The size of the store was quite impressive, but what amazed Erin the most was the immediate selection available. He had doubts about the book he was looking for being here, but now he was hopeful that there was a chance. The small psychic immediately wandered over to the fantasy section of the store and began to browse the selection. While he had been drenched in the storm, Erin had done what he could to wring most of the water out of his clothing. His hair was an absolute mess and was sticking to his forehead. This was very frustrating considering that he had spent nearly thirty minutes getting it ready to go out. Had he known the weather was going to get worse he would have worn a hat! Luckily his outfit wasn't too bad. The dark violet dress was barely wrinkled, and there wasn't enough water to make the pantyhose feel uncomfortable inside the short heels he wore. The umbrella had been a good idea indeed, but the rain had won this round for sure.
After a few minutes of looking, Erin had still not seen the book he was searching for. Either they didn't carry it, or it wasn't on the shelves. Feeling mildly defeated, he made his way up to the front desk to ask for assistance. "H-hello? I'm sorry for troubling you, but if there's anybody back there I was hoping that you had a copy of a book I need to help finish this series?" Every word sounded as if it were part of a question. Erin had never really been too sure of himself, especially with strangers, but this trip was about trying new things. And one of them would be to assert himself more...soon. Perhaps not now.*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥Status: Single*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥ {{{This is my roaring, roaring 20's >> I don't even know me >> Roll me like a blunt cause I wanna go home!}}}

It was a shame that the Earl Grey tea was unavailable at the workplace, but he still has a box of the stuff at home. He emerged from the employee area, about to attend back to his duties while still holding the cup cautiously, only to notice someone at the front desk. At the sight of the familiar figure, that was when shock, mixed with a dash of guilt, washed over him. Memories of their time together in England caught up to him all at once, all up to the time in which Ben wasn't able to say goodbye to him before the departure because of an emergency.
The emergency being the fact that Ben's adoptive mother had a sprain in her ankle and he had to help her out. Because of having to watch over her, the plan for Ben to meet up with him didn't occur as the other had hoped. The half-demon's lips pursued into a thin line after his mouth parted with the astonished expression.
"Erin... is that you?" his voiced lowered in volume as he was once again face to face with an old friend. Why, of all the times, he had to show up at this rainy morning? That would not be good at all.

{{{Strange situations, I get anxious >> Maybe I'll smile a bit, maybe the opposite >> But pray that they don't call me thankless}}} ☆═━┈┈┈┈Money: $1200┈┈┈┈━═☆ Erin stared wide-eyed at the man in front of him now. Benjamin Harris. The half-demon from England. With his charming smile, bright blue eyes, and gentle touch--no. That was not the memory he was having right now. Teary-eyed, disappointed, and sad. Those were the feelings best attributed to him. Erin gripped the edges of the counter. The dolled-up psychic had half a mind to forcefield the man through the wall. Yet this desire was only half-baked as the young man was feeling more sadness than anger. The sudden flood of memories had almost distracted him away from the words that Benjamin had spoken. A few tears had started to well up, which made him even more embarrassed, and he was hoping that the blonde shop assistant wouldn't notice. "Of all the people I run into...here of all places..." Erin's high pitched voice was broken up as he tried to fight back collapsing into a puddle of pity. He quickly sucked some air into his lungs and let out a slow ragged breath before continuing. "Ben..." He couldn't keep it together.
Erin was about to turn and walk away. To hide the feelings that he had buried for months after that plane ride back to Washington. It had been just three years ago. Why did it feel so fresh all of a sudden? He held his ground and wiped his face quickly. It was time for him to muster up some courage. "You left me standing at that gate, waiting until the last minute before the plane leaves. After the months we spent together in London...and you have the nerve to ask if it's me? It's been three years! Did you forget that quickly?" The poor man on the other end of the counter was not even given a word in edgewise to the petite, feminine figure's sudden emotional outburst. A few of the other store guests might have started to look their way, and the nervousness of possibly causing a scene had gotten to Erin.
He calmed down a bit and lowered his voice before continuing. "I would search your thoughts for an excuse, but I wanna hear you say it..." Despite how unhappy he was, Erin had wished that he could take those words back. What if there was a legitimate reason? Maybe something happened...but sadly, his head was not clear enough for any of that to matter. He simply crossed his arms and waited for Ben to speak. *̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥Status: Single*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥ {{{This is my roaring, roaring 20's >> I don't even know me >> Roll me like a blunt cause I wanna go home!}}}

The hand that was grasping the paper cup loosened, and the concoction would have fallen down to the floor if it wasn't for himself catching his own reaction and gripped the cup again. It was a bit harder that the cup was close to being bent. He sighed, having no other choice but to come clean. "My mom.. She was sprained the day before I was supposed to meet you at the airport. Unfortunately, my dad was busy at that time with his work and I couldn't leave her, so I had to stay at the hospital for a few more days and help her out in what she needed." He then cast her gaze to the floor, "I'm sorry. You have the right to be angry at me, but that reason is true and it was something that couldn't be helped."
After that, he should go back to having that usual professional demeanor, but Erin may be pissed off even more, so instead, he sipped the tea from the paper cup, even though it was still a bit too hot for his liking. In his experience it would be best if Erin would be okay with what he had insinuated before the topic would be changed, hopefully to calm down the tension between them. And if there would be any way he could do to make up for that mistake, Ben was willing to do so whole-heartedly.

{{{Strange situations, I get anxious >> Maybe I'll smile a bit, maybe the opposite >> But pray that they don't call me thankless}}} ☆═━┈┈┈┈Money: $1200┈┈┈┈━═☆ A sprain? Ben left him waiting because of a sprain?! Of all the half-baked excuses he's ever heard from past lovers, this really...was admittedly one of the more reasonable ones. Erin's face went from anger to being only mildly upset. If that were true, then that would mean he had overreacted. Obviously he had. He always did. He let a tear roll down his cheek before turning away for a moment. Had he been in that same situation Erin would have likely stayed behind as well. Regardless, Ben could have at least reached out to him. Now he was more upset at himself for being upset at Ben without at least questioning why he had been denied a final goodbye. Though, it seems that it would not have been so final. Yet another bump in the road on Erin's journey to branch out from his usual personality flaws.
Erin turned back to face the counter after composing himself, careful to make sure his face didn't look like one of those cheesy, drama messes you would usually see in an emotional reunion. "I guess that's fair...sorry for blowing up on you...but I'm still mad at you!" Erin understood his reason, but years of strong emotions weren't just going to fade so quickly. Especially after being bottled up for so long. A few of the books on the shelves next to the duo started to slide out of place and onto the floor. Erin stood, practically on his toes, leaning over the counter with his palms pressed down on the smooth surface. "I spent three years thinking you just wanted to be rid of me. You could have called! Or written a letter at least..." His voice went into a low whisper at the end of his sentence, not wanting to draw more unnecessary attention towards himself. He needed to calm down before he unconsciously started throwing things around the shop.
Erin pushed away from the service desk and put his feet flat on the floor again before crossing his arms. He looked at Benjamin out of the side of his eyes and gave a pouting face. With the rain the way it was, there was no chance he was going to make it home any time soon. He had planned on waiting out the storm, but now that his ex was standing in front of him it was looking more appealing to just run out into the chaos brewing outside. Still...he had been a tad dramatic. It had been three years. After all that time how could he not forgive him? And he did have a good reason. Rubbing the front of his dress to straighten out any wrinkles, Erin turned his head to speak again. "I guess...if you help me find this book I'll forget about it.." the young telepath had always been too forgiving. He chided himself mentally for not being able to hold onto grudges very well. *̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥Status: Single*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥ {{{This is my roaring, roaring 20's >> I don't even know me >> Roll me like a blunt cause I wanna go home!}}}

He was in no mood for further discussion about the past right now, considering that there were a lot of going on in his life that he didn't have the heart to explain, at least not yet. At the cross-dresser's request, the small smile returned since that could be easily arranged. "That, I can do. There will be a long story behind what happened after you left England, but... that will be for another time," he explained, hoping that it would be enough to clear some, if not all, of the misunderstandings. Perhaps, starting over would be so bad.
"Care to explain what book you are looking for exactly? The title, as well as the series that book is from. Perhaps, there may be a few copies of what you are looking for," he went on. It may be anything, except the several classical titles that were out of stock, mainly because some students wanted to snatch a copy for their book reports as part of the school work before the summer break.

{{{Strange situations, I get anxious >> Maybe I'll smile a bit, maybe the opposite >> But pray that they don't call me thankless}}} ☆═━┈┈┈┈Money: $1200┈┈┈┈━═☆ Erin sighed and leaned against the counter. He felt a little defeated, and mostly embarrassed, at his lack of follow through. Though, honestly, it was deserved. "Reaper's Gale by Steven Erikson. It's the seventh installment to Tales of the Malazan." He looked up at the blonde demon and gave a slight grin. Seeing him smile brought back the pleasant memories of the times they had together. Realizing that he was probably staring for too long, Erin cleared his throat and looked away. "I tried over in the fantasy section, but all I could find were three copies of the first book and two copies each of the second and last book." Erin glanced over to the shelves and pointed with a lazy hand. It was here that he noticed the books that had been knocked off their shelves by his uncontrolled outburst.
He immediately went to gather them up and do the best he could to put them back where they belonged. "I'm really sorry...I shouldn't have gotten that upset." It wasn't that hard to figure out their organization system, and there were only a handful of books so it took less than a minute to get everything back into order. The last book, however, managed to catch Erin's attention more than the rest. It looked like a standard history book, but it was about the city of Soleil. Curious as ever, Erin held onto it with the intent to buy it later. Realistically he could just run down to the library and check something like this out for free, but there was something to owning a book that made him feel good. And besides, it could be a little memento when he eventually returned to Washington. *̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥Status: Single*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥ {{{This is my roaring, roaring 20's >> I don't even know me >> Roll me like a blunt cause I wanna go home!}}}

"Oh, that one... something I'm not that familiar with," he confessed. After Erin apologized for the mess he made, the blond waved a hand, a sign that it wasn't much if a big deal. "It's fine, really. I'll see if that book's available," he spoke, and went on with the task of asking if that specific title was available. Luckily, there was only one copy left, and after snatching it from the other restricted area that was reserved for stocks that were yet to be put on the shelves, minus the discs, he approached the other male, though Erin was immersed in the history book that he recently checked.
"Here's the one, right? It's actually the last copy and I forgot to put that on the shelf because of lack of space," he spoke, feeling a bit too embarrassed. Nonetheless, he handed the book over to Erin. Now that the task was done, there were a few people who fell in line at the counter near the cashier to pay for their wares, fetching their umbrellas and rain gear before leaving the store altogether. "Anything else that you need?" Ben questioned once again, in case the cross-dresser may need something more.

{{{Strange situations, I get anxious >> Maybe I'll smile a bit, maybe the opposite >> But pray that they don't call me thankless}}} ☆═━┈┈┈┈Money: $1200┈┈┈┈━═☆ When Benjamin came back with the book, Erin smiled and took it from him gently. He looked over the cover a few times before placing it atop the history book and holding them to his chest. "This is the one! Thank you." Erin had forgotten about Ben's sincerity. It was one of the things that had attracted him in the first place. The thought of them meeting for the first time brought a blush to Erin's face, which caused him to quickly stammer through his next sentence. The psychic didn't want the demon to think he still had feelings for him. While it was true that there were still some remnants, Erin had sort of moved on from their summer fling. Especially with the feelings he had due to the conclusions he had jumped to when he believed himself to have been abandoned by the blonde all that time ago. None the less, the shopkeep's kindness was still a bit alluring to him.
"Uhm...n-no. I think I'm going to look around some more. See if anything else catches my eye until the storm dies down." Erin looked over at the line that had formed at the counter. Not wanting to keep Benjamin busy for too much longer, the young man turned to walk down the other sections of the store. The soft click of his heels barely making a noise against the floor as he moved rather quickly. Just before getting too far off, however, Erin turned back around and called out to Ben one final time. "If you get slow again, I'll be here somewhere...if you wanted to talk that is." With a curt nod, he gave a tense smile and then walked over toward the comic book section of the store.
Erin had planned to do some looking at the clothing stores as well, and decided that he would make his way over to that shopping district if the rain ever lightened up. Surely before needing to head home if it began to get too late in the day. He needed a new swimsuit, in addition to wanting something local to wear around for checking out the nightlife. *̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥Status: Single*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥⌣̣̣̣̥*̣̣̣̥ {{{This is my roaring, roaring 20's >> I don't even know me >> Roll me like a blunt cause I wanna go home!}}}

The rain was still strong, with no chance of stopping for a long while. "Okay, I'll let you know," he replied, before he went back to his duties. Around two hours later, the bookstore was empty of customers, the perfect timing for Ben to have the important talk with Erin. He felt guilty for forgetting him after all that happened, like moving into Soleil, and even having a past romantic relationship with Yosuke and the fling with Night before Erin popped out once again in his life. With that, he made a cup of hot tea for Erin to drink, to warm him up a little in case the other was feeling thirsty.
"I'm all here, now, set and ready to have the heart-to-heart talk with you," he spoke as he handed to him the paper cup. If anything, he was hoping that the questions wouldn't be anything related to his past moments with Yosuke or Night. That would be something he would like to avoid.

{{{Strange situations, I get anxious >> Maybe I'll smile a bit, maybe the opposite >> But pray that they don't call me thankless}}} ☆═━┈┈┈┈Money: $1200┈┈┈┈━═☆ Erin had browsed the shelves for about an hour or two. It felt shorter than that, after reading the backs of other novels and flipping through a few pages of the opened comic books. He was particularly fond of superheroes and his favorite by far was Doctor Strange. Knowing that other races existed and that not only psionics but magic too, was very real, he often wondered why he never took to actually learning any kind of spellcraft. Perhaps it was due to the fact that he would like to focus on perfecting control of his own powers first. While he was deep in thought about his current position in life, Benjamin surprised him when he approached with the cup of tea. Erin jumped a little bit but calmed down quickly when he realized who it was. he had not noticed that the store was practically empty now.
When Ben handed him the cup, Erin set down his books on an empty space in the shelves next to him. He gripped the paper with both hands and sipped from it slowly. He stared at the warm liquid for a while, waiting in the still silence until he could gather his thoughts. "You know, I'm not sure what to say now. After yelling at you like that...I guess..h-how have you been these past few years?" Resorting to small talk. Nervously.
