Kasumi exhaled as she slid to a stop, not all that surprised to see the young ones and the elder squirrelmaid and otter several feet away. -_-_-_-_-_- Merrick sighed. He cocked his head before he sighed. "Maybe it's wise to stick with Horty and the others, if only to make sure they don't get themselves killed," he sighed as shifted before jogging after them. -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán tilted his head, his gaze shifting back towards the Abbey as a slight frown crossed his face. "Seems those vermin that attacked Merrick earlier are outside of Redwall now talking about some 'magic sword'," he said with a soft sigh, unaware he was referring to Martin's sword or that Cassandra would know what he referred to. -_-_-_-_-_- Brag cocked his head as he saw Kasumi. "I haven't seen a fox with more'n one tail before, so what's with yours?" he said wryly, his expression thoughtful.

Constance followed silently after Merrick, her stride graceful and fluid. She hardly seemed to notice that she was different now, nor had she thought about how she was going to change back to her human form. She was just glad they had managed to help the others out. Even though she and Merrick had been interrupted. Cassandra frowned as Lorcan spoke about the rats and the 'magic sword.' She had an idea to what they were referring to. "Well let's hurry back, keep up with the others." She hurried her steps. Merida heard Brag ask Kasumi his question and she grinned a little. "She's a special kind of fox. The more tails she has, the more powerful. She is more powerful than you, me and probably several others combined."

Kasumi snorted, rolling her eyes at Merida's words. "Strength doesn't necessarily mean everything. In my experience, flexibility and forethought can be just as powerful, if not more so," she said with a wry tone of amusement. -_-_-_-_-_- Merrick shifted his weight, his gaze unconsciously scanning around due to habit. "Shifting between human and our more... animalistic forms... is just a matter of concentration... though sometimes a pulse of power can help," he said softly, knowing Constance could hear him. -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán nodded as he shifted into a loping jog that ate ground quickly, the movement surprisingly agile for his outer 'bookworm' appearance. "Right," he said softly. -_-_-_-_-_- Brag tilted his head thoughtfully. "Heard of 'em, but never saw 'em before... supposedly they're related to some 'god'," he said thoughtfully. He missed the faint blush that stained Kasumi's cheeks at the mention of her father. "That would be Inari... or Ōinari, depending on your translation... and my father," Kasumi sighed, her tone a bit lower on the last few words though she realized afterward that Merida and Amelia were close enough to hear her.

"I didn't say it meant everything," Merida said with a shrug. She had been looking around when she heard Kasumi talking to Brag, something about her father being a god. She raised an eyebrow as she looked back to her friend. If she was surprised at all, she didn't show it. Constance glanced at Merrick from the corner of her eye as he spoke. She smiled and nodded. It seemed that he was able to read her mind. "Well, I will have to concentrate then. Although I must admit that I like this form." She winked at him. Cassandra watched for a moment as Lorcan jogged ahead of her. She enjoyed the view with a smirk before hurrying to catch up with him. Hopefully those kids wouldn't be too traumatized by this.

Kasumi tilted her head, glancing to Merida. "What did you expect? It's likely part of the reason Merrick's so strong... my father being Ōinari and his grandmother on his father's side... well... is the Mórrígan," she said quietly. -_-_-_-_-_- Merrick tilted his head with a half smile. "I know what you're thinking mainly because I've been there, so I figured out the easiest ways to shift back and forth between forms," he said softly, knowing Constance could hear him as he slowed, hearing Lorcan's words that made his eyes widen. He didn't notice faint flickers of pale teal-blue energy materializing and fading just inches from his fur. -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán slowed with Cassandra behind him in time to hear Kasumi's words. "You mean you're related to the Shinto god of fertility, while your husband was related to the Celtic goddess of battle? Damn," he said with amusement. He noticed that Horty hung unconscious over the large otter's shoulder with a sizeable lump on his head. -_-_-_-_-_-

Kaosujin Ryu man..the number of times I respond in a day have gone way down! My little girl is constantly getting up and walking around. Until she's steady on her feet I need to keep an eye on her...she's napping at the moment thank goodness. "Well I certainly didn't expect you to be related to two Gods." Merida teased as she lightly punched Kasumi's arm. It really didn't bother her in the least. It just made her more aware of how strong Kasumi and all her family members must be. Constance smiled at Merrick and nodded. She looked over at Kasumi when she heard who Merrick's grandparents were. Her eyes had widened slightly and then she shook her head. His relatives didn't matter to her. It was who he was that mattered to her. "Here, let me try to change back." She said softly to Merrick as she closed her eyes, concentrating. It didn't take her long to change back to her human form. "Ah, there we go."Cassandra looked over at Kasumi, her head tilted to the side slightly. She had known that her friend was related to those two Gods. They had talked about it before her capture. She hadn't realized that Kasumi hadn't told the others. Although she was sure that Amelia must know. She had kept walking, seemingly not finding the news shocking.

Kasumi shrugged. "It doesn't matter that much... our family for the most part remains hidden away," she said with a sigh. -_-_-_-_-_- Merrick chuckled, tilting his head as he concentrated, feeling his animalistic side growl in the depths of his subconscious, but it retreated as he shifted to his human form. "I'm just glad that though my uncle did rub off of me a bit... I can control my... well, strange humor," he sighed. -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán tilted his head idly, somewhat surprised yet not that surprised. He cocked his head wryly, his gaze shifting around. "I think the wise thing would be to put some distance between us and those cannibalistic rats, though in all likelihood they'll turn on one another rather than chase us," he said thoughtfully. -_-_-_-_-_-

Constance ran her hands through her hair, getting out the tangles. She watched as Merrick changed back to his human form before stepping closer to him and holding onto his hand. Her gaze went over to Lorcan and she chuckled. "Yeah, I think I would agree with you there. They are in a world of hurt right now. They'll turn on themselves before coming after us. They still need to heal.""Well we are almost to the Abbey," Cassandra said in response to Lorcan. "We get inside and shut the doors. And make sure those youngsters don't go out again for a little while. Although after today I am sure they will be more careful."Merida nodded in agreement to what Cassandra said. "And even if they do decide to follow us, we'll take care of the rest of them." She shrugged a little.

Kasumi frowned slightly, her eyes narrowing as her pupils widened until her irises were thin rings before they flickered and shifted into several thin silvery lavender rings that took up her irises fully. "Then we can't go to the Abbey... there's a large group of vermin between us and them, and by large, I mean close to a hundred and eighty of them," she said quietly, her tone grim. -_-_-_-_-_- Merrick shifted his weight. "Then we need to find a way to draw them off so we can take them out... but if they're anything like Mad-Eyes.... then they will likely already be within the Abbey," he sighed as his fist clenched. Naruto dropped from the trees, landing in a crouch. "We've got around eighty vermin in the walls, under some... Raga Bol; that's one big damned rat.... easily eight feet tall," he sighed; his clothes were heavily torn, showing the rats were keenly alert and very unfriendly. -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán gritted his teeth at Naruto's report before the duplicate dispelled in a burst of dust and steam. Very bad odds, he thought grimly, not liking the fact that they were, for lack of a better term, blocked from the Abbey. -_-_-_-_-_-

"Well, that is a problem," Cassandra muttered as Kasumi spoke. She looked over to Naruto when he appeared and sighed. "So let's make a distraction, try to get as many as we can away from the Abbey and take care of them." She looked to Naruto. "The Abbey dwellers...are they somewhere safe?"Merida's eyes narrowed as she looked towards the Abbey. So rats had gotten past them and to the Abbey. This was not good, not good at all. Her hands clenched and unclenched as she tried to formulate a plan. Amelia's head snapped to the side as a loud boom could be hear coming from the Abbey. It seemed nobody had noticed that Nala had taken off already for the abbey and was there in a short amount of time. "That sound...it was Carolyn. She's still in the Abbey and trying to hold of the rats as best she can." "Then we had better go and help her," Constance growled as she instantly transformed back into her vixen form. Just the thought that one of the coven leaders was still in there and fighting off those filthy rats really got her blood boiling.

Kasumi cocked her head slightly, a faint smirk flickering over her face. "They're holed up in the Abbey itself..." she said, a snort of laughter the only warning that she'd seen something amusing. -_-_-_-_-_- Merrick shifted into his fox form, though surprisingly, this time it was quite a bit larger, easily eight and a half feet in height as all eleven of his tails swayed behind him. -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán blinked as he felt the pulse of power from Merrick and saw his full vulpine form. "Impressive form," he said with some surprise. -_-_-_-_-_-

"Hmm, impressive indeed," Constance said in response to Lorcan's comment at Merrick's form. She grinned a little and took off towards the Abbey. She wanted to get there before anything happened to Carolyn. "No need to let her go by herself," Amelia said as the ground shifted underneath her and she took off after Constance. She could see through Nala's eyes that Carolyn was okay for the moment. The two of them were fighting side by side. "Ah, the rolls are reversed for once. Amelia takes off before I do," Merida laughed as she jumped forward and ran after the two.

Kasumi giggled before she leaped after the others, her hand snapping to the side as a flickering tendril of brilliant bluish white flame ignited before revealing the katana held just below its tsuba in her hand so the sheath was pointed towards her. -_-_-_-_-_- Merrick tilted his head before he pushed off, a trail of dust the only sign he'd even moved. As his foot struck the ground near the tree line short of the Abbey, the ground cracked slightly before a naginata shot up into his hand, the entire weapon made of amber and dark gray stone with what seemed to be bluish spheres through the weapon as he pushed off, clearing the wall with ease before landing lightly atop it as he darted towards the main doors; he was barely a blur of movement in the darkening evening as he cleared the wall and somersaulted down into the gathered horde of searats, ferrets, wildcats, stoats, and foxes. -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán shot after all of the other witches, glancing back at Brag. -_-_-_-_-_-

Constance landed next to Merrick, a growl rumbling deep in her throat. She looked around to see Nala lashing out at any who came near them and Carolyn was blasting them with what looked like balls of light. Carolyn glanced over at them and grinned. "About time you guys showed up. I was beginning to think you had gone home without me."Cassandra made it to the Abbey and her eyes widened when she saw all the beasts that were around. "Holy crap," she murmured under her breath. She had never seen so many gathered like this before. What had made them decide to attack the Abbey now?

Kasumi blinked as she paused, balancing on the wall as she watched the battle begin, cocking her head as several small pouches of some sort of reddish powder flew over the wall into the horde as she saw chains erupt from the ground as a plume of dust imploded as she covered her eyes with one hand. So, Lorcan at least unlocked the initial release of his soul weapon, she thought. -_-_-_-_-_- Merrick shifted his weight before several of the stoats and ferrets leaped at him with spears and long sea knives, which he deflected with the haft of his naginata before he twisted it, swatting two ferrets across the head with a crunch before he shifted his weight, almost idly ducking a cutlass slash from a short fox before he hurled the naginata into the horde, grabbing the fox by the throat with one hand. "You and yours were the ones that attacked me earlier... I warned you that if we met again, you wouldn't walk away," he growled before a deep voice from within the abbey roared two words with such hatred and rage that it made his fur stand on end. "Raga Bol!!" was what it roared in a deep masculine voice as a plume of dust and wind blasted several stoats and rats into the air as the naginata detonated like a bomb. Easily eight or ten vermin didn't even rise again from the impact of the slicing and concussive winds as a dozen others staggered around, apparently deafened. Merrick's grip tightened as he caught the fox's slim arm as the fox choked before he punted the little short fox-vermin high into the air, disarming the vermin in the process. -_-_-_-_-_- Lorcán pushed off, leaping off the wall as he spun the kusari-gama before inhaling and hurling it downward with explosive force, though he saw a stoat duck as the weighted end slammed into the ground with a crunch. "Hah, ya missed, foolishbeast," the stoat gloated as a flicker of golden light flickered down the chain, unnoticed before Lorcan chuckled and murmured two words before a sudden blast of pressure from him made nearly twenty vermin crumple to their knees. "Senkō, Inazu-hime," he murmured as a half dozen spearing bolts of lightning erupted at odd angles from the ground at high speed, each bolt fading to reveal more chains with bladed weights. Each chain had either incapacitated or flat out slaughtered four or five rats a piece. -_-_-_-_-_-
