hide move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) He wasn't hidden well enough. Fine. The things he was worst at now would be the things he's best at soon enough. No matter how much he struggled with a principle, it would be much better for him to have it difficult rather than breezing through an easy assignment. In the end. But then, this wasn't the end. He wasn't professional. He needed solid, across-the-board skill, otherwise he'd never prove himself to be a good enough shinobi to be hired. He could live with that, actually. He did what he did for himself, and himself alone. The village could burn down for all he cared. He wouldn't be caught in it. Another darting step, to carry him to another tree. He almost had this down, all he needed was a little more experience. The art of the ninja.

hide move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) Another failure. It was fine. He wasn't stalking a person, he was stalking... Nothing, really, but that's beside the point. His mistakes weren't fatal, as might be noticed by the fact that he was still alive. Of course, it wouldn't really matter if he was stalking something real, he would just have to step out to meet it. He took a breath, keeping himself silent and stepping towards a new hiding place, hoping that this time he would have the right motions down. He needed a proper technique. The art of the ninja.

Sneak attack move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) Perfect. Nothing. No sound at all. He amazed even himself with that. He was positive that the area he was in was perfect for hiding. All directions were blocked by foliage, and even above was too cluttered to see him. He grinned smugly. He knew he'd get it. And it wasn't any the worse that it had taken him a while to get there. If he'd gotten it on the first try, who knows? He might not have gotten this perfect hiding spot. He checked around the tree and saw his target. Well... Picked his target. A knot on a tree, about where an average man's throat would be. But it wasn't the front of the throat that the boy would be slashing at. It was the back. The spinal cord, between the sixth and seventh cervical vertebrae. It was better for his opponents to not even know what he looks like. Being ghosted by a ghost was much more intimidating than being ghosted by a man. Even if that man appeared to be more of an animal.
Calculations. The boy did the math for the attack. A quick, silent leap would carry him out of his cover, his aian nakkuru primed and at the ready. The art of the ninja.

hide move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) He lashed his blade out naturally as he raced by the tree, feeling it bite into the bark and slide easily through. He marveled at how natural the attack felt, but he didn't have time to stop and think about it. He was coming back down, and he needed to take the best course of action possible for the moment. And that was to hide again. But he couldn't help looking to the side, seeing the white scar he'd made straight through the knot. FOCUS! He was aiming down at some bushes, and he would roll to the side when he landed, planting his back to a tree. The moment of truth: would he make it quickly and quietly enough that his opponent wouldn't see him?The art of the ninja.

The others would be able to tell by the blood splatter and the cut which direction the boy had gone. Now it was time for some more stalking. He figured he was taking out a cell of shinobi. Three people. One was currently flopping around on the ground like a fish out of water, due to having its spinal cord severed. Two more to go. He was going to take a couple steps away and hide again, so that he would be able to ambush them when they looked in the wrong direction. He spotted a place that was a couple steps away. But he needed to be quiet. The art of the ninja.

move silently move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) Not quiet enough. Perhaps quiet enough to hide from some people, but not these shinobi. He is going to have to be quieter if he's ever going to get out of this alive. He took a silent breath and moved forward even more slowly, hoping for a more silent approach to his hiding place. Which has had to change now that he's made noise. He was going to have to work on that. Otherwise, he'd just be going nowhere, and they'd find him.The art of the ninja.

move silently move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) And again, he's made too much noise and compromised his hiding place. He sighed mentally. He wasn't going to get anywhere like this, but they weren't going to be going anywhere, either. The questions of just how their friend had been turned into a bleeding twitch and just how they would be able to save his sorry hide were more pressing on their minds just now. Another smug grin. He'd gotten the attack out of the way with little to no problems, and that had been his biggest worry. Unfortunately, his stalking skills seemed to have waned during his time in the academy. So he'd have to work them back up to par. Another step, hoping for silence. The art of the ninja.

move silently move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) Rustling leaves, cracking twigs. NOT acceptable. He closed his eyes for a second and opened them, already focused, crisply viewing the world around him. He once again sighed within the silent confines of his mind. Again. Silent steps to carry him to yet another hiding place. Focus. Focus. Focus. His dilated pupils took the world in for what it was, not what it appeared to be. Hopefully he could get it this time. He'd need a couple of steps, though, so he had to hope his luck would hold out.The art of the ninja.

move silently move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) Damn it. They'd be checking on him anytime now. One of them would stay with their fallen comrade, the other would come to look. That was what the boy wanted, but if he couldn't get to a damned hiding spot quick, he wouldn't be able to do anything but die when they found him. FOCUS! Silent steps. Triangles. Remember your training. A deep silent breath, and a long blink. He needed to do this right. A silent exhalation. He was going to do this right. A (hopefully) silent step. The art of the ninja.

move silently move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) Again. A slight quieter this time, but not quiet enough. He grit his teeth, but didn't push himself too hard. He needed to be relaxed, or he couldn't stay quiet and hidden if he was two miles from the target. Calm. He was a ghost. He was a spirit, on a different plane. He was on a completely different level than these punks. He was the essence of death himself, reincarnated in a body with no name and sight of the world with no shadows. Life was his to take. The art of the ninja.

move silently move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) Silent as the grave. As he should be. They were his to fill. The boy's all-seeing eyes took the world in as his ears failed their test of hearing his body. He needed another step to put him back into ambushing range. Just one more silent, death-bringing step. Blades were coming on the wind like a plague over Egypt, bringing death to all those who stood in the boy's way.. No matter why he decided that he wanted past. His eyes ignored the ground, fixed on his location as opposed to the means of getting there. The art of the ninja.

An internal sigh as he heard the sound of his body moving. He could still do this, though. He could still salvage this. A silent breath as he steeled himself to take another step, putting him in a safer location. He wasn't going to have this many chances in the real world. But he wasn't in the real world. He was in the training world. Nothing was out of his reach here. And he was glad of that, as it meant he could keep rewinding the tape when he failed. The art of the ninja.

hide move silently sad (Roll = 1d20 + 5)) hide: ((Roll = 1d20 + 5)) Sneak attack: ((Roll = 1d20 + 3)) And he had it. He had silently moved out of the target's eventual sight pattern, and now he needed to buckle down for the wait. His eyes darted around him, taking in all that they could in order to find the absolute best hiding place. There wasn't going to be any interference, of course, but he wanted to keep the time frame real if he could. He wanted to keep this as close to real as he could, otherwise he'd just not live up to the challenge when he needed to.The art of the ninja.

The opponent would step out beside him... A quick step out, a turn, and a slash back at the tree the boy had had his back to, where the enemy's throat would have been. But would the boy have the attack? He certainly hoped so. Without an actual person here, it was hard to tell exactly what his target was... Deathly silent... But would it be the last silence this one heard? The art of the ninja.
