((Of what smexiness do you speak? biggrin Glad to finally see some action again- d'jou see how much time there was between the last two posts?))

Siber was pleased to finally find the object of two of his spiritual hangers'-on hatred. He was less than pleased that he no longer had a floor to stand on, but that was peripheral. The Rusalka caught his hand and he stood, floating in the air as the concrete fell away. The room was slightly heated and Joe was careening into a wall. Dropping off Rusalka briefly, he instantiated Sapphra between the wall and Joe. Before Siber could drop too far, he juggled the Rusalka back in and had her catch him; Joe could take a stabilized fall of ten feet on his own, he thought.
Finally, he locked eyes with Samuel, keeping his third eye vaguely open to watch for anyone behind him and try to avoid the battling juggernauts below. "Samuel! Good to see you again!" He grinned wickedly at the pyromaniac before him. "Last time I tried anything mano a mano, one of your own scorned me. Are you up for it? You wanna take this outside?"
Keldan was barely concealing his anger and the Rusalka's eyes were blazing. And so the two of them, Siber and Samuel, were left facing each other, floating above a clash of titans.

((Good to have you back, Devath. And yeah, I try to keep away from character control. xd
Random: I just got back from my prom. It was fun. I should be able to step up activity again once I'm no longer sick and caught up in Calculus...))

At this immensely inopportune moment, Aurelie struck Siber on the back of the head with a charred rubble chunk of indeterminate structure, propelled by her shadowlings. She glanced at Joe and saw him charging at her, wreathed in an aura of flame, rage and betrayal etched on his face.

"Of all the-" BAM.
Joe lost focus on...well, everything, when he was hit with a veritable "SHORIYUKIN!" from Samuel. He flew back a bit, but before he could make contact with the wall, Siber came to his rescue.
Roland muttered.
However, the favor was returned when Joe saw Siber get clocked in the head with a brick. He caught Siber's unconscious body before it could hit the ground, hurriedly pumping healing energy into the back of his head to stop the bleeding and prevent concussion. Joe set him down gently and gave him enough energy to wake up and fight if he needed it.
Joe stood back up slowly, flames wreathing his arms and his eyes literally flaring. "Sam. I thought you would have learned your lesson the first time. And Aurelie...no. Never again."
He held out his arm, pointing one flaming finger at her. "You. Me. Now."
He threw a glance over at Sindhlot. "You don't mind, right? I can handle you too, but it'll have to wait. Besides, I'm not even affecting those anchors." Joe took a stance between the fallen Siber and their enemies, his power flaring higher and higher as his rage grew.
Roland began.
Joe mentally shoved him aside, finally giving in to Crossover. His power had no limits now; he was going past humanity.

((Just a random brick to the back of the head? Where did that come from? Especially when I'm just getting into things. No worries, though.))

Again.
He popped himself off the ground and gave his eyes time to focus. A throbbing, concussive headache threw off his senses for a few seconds and the scene came back into ******** was silent for a while.

"Joe, I told you not to be stupid with her. Thanks, though."
How frustrating. Finally in a good situation, and it's ruined by a stupid girl and an errant hand.

Siber focused on the electricity of his cerebral cortex. There, he found the dæmon, near the surface. My name is Siber. I'm a human in need of your help. Will you grant it?
A whisper sounded in the depths of his mind, glittering like starfire. I revel in an open mind. Summon me.
"ARE YOU READY FOR ME, GURUL?!" He still kept a vague hold on the others, just enough to call them if he absolutely needed them. As he spoke, the dæmon named Centauri grew like a cocoon around Siber's frame. A skeleton framework of blackened tree limbs sprouted from his back as an emerald exoskeleton surrounded his flesh like a suit of armor and his face was shielded save for his bright blue eyes in a smooth plate of green. His fingers extended out into points; likewise his toes; and a sword of diamond appeared in one hand. With a flap of his wings, he was brought face to face with Samuel again. All this, and the energy cost was as nothing. Not bothering to hesitate this time, he let the dæmon charge in to aim a deadly, slashing blow across Samuel's chest.

Sindhlot stepped back from Joe to observe the fight of Siber and Gurul.

Joe was startled a bit by Siber's uncharacteristic charge, his power fluctuating a bit as he felt a sudden human emotion. However, Crossover soon took control as he felt the rage bubble up again and he launched himself at Aurelie, following Siber's lead.
He dashed across the room at her, drawing back his arm. As he did, a long blade of white-hot flame appeared. He swung it around in front of him, leapign at Aurelie and swinging it down at her.

The blow passed right through the flames, and cruel laughter echoed through the flames as they encircled the rashly acting Siber and his "cocoon."

"Fool! Do you not know that to attack something you cannot clearly see is tantamount to throwing yourself into its hands for nothing?"
The words echoed from all sides, no true source obvious within the raging inferno that moved as one entity.
"Perhaps... this deception surprises you... perhaps not..." The voice, very different from that of either form of Samuel, let forth a mocking laugh. "It is of no matter. You will not find me in this haze, just as you cannot escape this... sphere of flames..." The laughter faded away, and there was silence in the flames.

<...Right...>

The mysterious sphere of flame sat for but a few moments, then flames spewed forth from it like a geyser, enveloping the room and disorienting all those within it.

Lines of wind linked with those following Legion in the area, and a whispered message touched their ears... "This is our opening, we are getting out of this building. I hope you guys can navigate while falling, cause I'm selectively blowing hole in the floor so that we can escape faster... Now we'd better get moving. The power of Crossover only extends so much... and Gurul wants to start working the big ones, but I have him on hold until we are fully clear of the battle between Legion, Abbadon, and the whore with Titan's Fists. Anyways, get moving... As in, start falling, cause you're already en route. See ya at the bottom."

A small globe of flames burst from the lowest floor of the building moments later, and Samuel/Gurul sat on a bench as he engineered the method by which the others were to escape... Aw, ******** it... we'll clean an elevator and throw 'em down the shaft with a wind cushion at the bottom... Course, since I'm not too good with non-fire elements yet, their asses will hurt, after, but I guess it's better than lives... What sucks is that in Crossover, we're the only ones with the layout to do quick evac... He rolled his eyes and waited.

((As clarification, while Gurul is not the deceptive type, Samuel likes to hit from a safe distance. As a result, a wind projection of a fist was used on our poor Joe. I may not have been as clear as I needed to be on the obscuring aspect, though. Curse my need for the dramatic... As for the lack of clarity before this... Well, people seem to know more than they should know a lot of the time, including me. As a result, post what people see, and maybe a side note about thoughts or some such... And the problem is feexed. Anyways, cleanup may be needed... Venom?))

Joe roared in anger as Aurelie began to sink into the floor. With a burst of speed, he tackled her over the hole that was forming and onto the solid ground near the wall.
He nodded over his shoulder at Siber as he prepared to fight her. "Go, get the flaming freak," he called, his voice inhuman and fluctuating in pitch as he spoke. He turned back to Aurelie and raised his hand, gesturing her to come and get him.

((Hey Joe... umm... I said a HOLE was BLOWN in the floor, and VISION was OBSCURED... Also, Siber cant see you... In addition... no one knows where Samuel is. (Not even Samuel! O_O lol.)))
((I just thought of another minor detail... Everyone is prolly a little blind... Fire is kinda bright. Huh... That even gives me a toned down version of the same thing... Flashbang FTW.))

((right. and as said hole was being allegedly blown, i tackled aurelie out of the way of it. i'd like to point out that your fire would hardly concern my vision, being that i was already engulfed in my own white-hot fire.
but i totally support your flashbang. FTW! xp ))

((My main concern was your word choice, actually... I mean... "sinking"? Sure, if you could detect s**t while not being able to see it, you could grab someone who is falling. My point is that explosions are a bit... instant. Thus, your wording needs adjustment for lack of conflict... Of course there is the fact that it foils my plan, but that's rather irrelevant. Some assumptions were made at deployment that may not have been true. The objective was to homogenize the appearance of everything so that just bout everything could move without fear of detection, even if any movement would be relatively unpurposeful. But hey, some detection other than sight, sound, smell, touch... Go ahead, surprise us. It'll be fun. *Grins evilly*))

((aye, i see what you mean by word choice...i suppose it would be a bit of a stretch to say that in my current avatar-esque state, i had a premonition? regardless, i think we can agree that:
a: i tackled aurelie
b: aurelie and i are now about to fight
and
c: no one can really see anything, save for about several feet in front of them.
good?))

((Actually, between smoke and flame, anyone without their third eye going can't see much of anything.

Can't breathe much of anything either.))

((Wait... so the glowy eyes were also an illusion? Is that what I'm understanding? And no sight, and no oxygen... interesting.))

It's hot...
No matter. As the flames enveloped Siber's body, they tore off bits of his ligneous "wings." The wings absorbed the magic signature as they spun through the sphere and locked onto Samuel as he plummeted through the floors of the building. With a sound like a trees splintering in winter, they broke free into dozens of foot-long, razor-sharp bits, each of which followed the pyromaniac down to the first floor like a flock of crows.
Siber fell heavily, curled into a shell until he hit ground, holding his breath all the while. The first impact crunched beneath his augmented weight, sending debris flying. Realizing that the less-empowered of those still present may need oxygen sooner or later, he felt his way to a wall and opened a hole with his fist, then swung himself out of the way to let the pressure stabilize. "Damn old office buildings and their lack of windows," he sighed, then let in a breath of fresh air.
"So Centauri, how are things in Hell?" He began picking out magic signatures with his open Ajna and trying to devise a plan.
Centauri didn't answer for a moment, clearly not used to any form of levity in this kind of situation. Well... ah... it's all right, I guess. The war with Heaven goes on, but it's more of a peripheral thing by now.
"Really? You on the front lines much?"
Um. No, I'd... rather not talk about it right now. Maybe when things are less hectic, I'll let you know.
"Psh, that's fine, I'm not in a position to push anything. Those splinters have hit Gurul by now, haven't they?"
They should have, but they're on their own route; check it out. With that, the charred wings grew back to full length. Siber felt it as a kind of pleasant tugging in his scapula and pectoral muscles; like stretching out a cramp.
Looking up, Siber saw a ceiling and heard the sounds of a colossal battle as residual fires burned themselves out. So that's where the titans had ended up; they probably hadn't really felt anything of it. Joe and Aurelie were up a level too, then, Samuel down several, and Chaos and Erik peering down the edge of the hole Samuel had made.
Siber remembered he still had a sword in his hand. He also noticed that smoke was still rising from his body. I'm going to need new clothes after this.

not assume it was an illusion just because he's purely an elemental evoker?>
Keldan asked caustically.

Gliding silently upwards, Siber prepared a slash for Chaos where she stood.
