Esio walked into the Snagem HQ with a solemn look on his face. He stopped to run his fingers through his hair and take a deep breath while his Charmander caught up to him.
"Home sweet home," he muttered, walking into the common room. He appeared to have had very little sleep in the last few days. He released Sandshrew from its ball. The ground Pokémon scurried up onto Esio's lap and promptly fell asleep.

Before I could make it to the kitchen, however, I saw someone unfamiliar in the main lobby.
"Hey, there," I said calmly. "Don't think I recognize you. Are you trying to join or are you one of us already?"

Esio looked over his shoulder at the new arrival.
"Let's just say, it's been awhile since I last sat in this couch," he said. "I presume you are somewhat newer than I?"
Charmander timidly peeked over the back of the couch, ready to duck out of sight.

"Sounds like it," I said with a smirk, before sitting down myself. "Terashi Toumei," I offered, extending my hand should he want to shake it.

Al nodded in agreement to with Terashi. "I'm afraid, it's getting quite late, Miss Keiko. I should probably turn in for the night." He finally decided, as Terashi left. It wasn't so much that he wanted her to leave as the fact that he wanted to give some serious thought to what had just transpired. Should he become a trainer proper? Would it be for the better if he did? He didn't like the thought of lieing but, in all reality, he wasn't exactly lieing. He really did feel like turning in for the night. He just wanted to have a bit to think on these events beforehand.
Back inside HQ, those in the mainroom might be surprised by Odd popping in, simply phasing through the chair he sat down in rather than going around it. "Oi vey! Why can I do that so easily when I'm not trying?" He asked of no one in particular.

"Esio," Esio smiled as Charmander scrambled out of sight. He shook Terashi's hand professionally. "Esio da Risei. A pleasure. These are my partners, Sandshrew and..."
He trailed off, unable to see Charmander anywhere.

"Maybe it's the effort that's holding you back?" I offered. "Not that I would know..."
"Nice to meet you, Esio. And Sandshrew, as well. I'd introduce you to my partners, but they'd crowd the room quite a bit," I boasted.

"Perhaps," Esio mused. "I am sure you have had more... time, shall we say, to catch Pokémon. I fear that I have missed more than I should have. One moment I am exploring Ilex Forest, the next, I am stumbling through the woods outside Mt. Silver."

"I understand. Good night, Al. See you tomorrow?"
With that, Keiko left Al's secret lair and was on her way to bed when she saw the three of us in the main lobby. "Hello, everyone!" she said with a wave.
"Huh, that's one hell of an exploration. Didn't know that the Ilex reached all the way here."
Once Keiko was in, I waved to her and tapped Odd. "By the way, meet my sister." I said.

Al nodded to Keiko's question, quite liking the prospect of spending more time with her. It seemed like the more time he spent around her, the less he was stuttering. "Definitely. I'll see you tomorrow." He said as he made like a gentleman and saw her out the door.
Odd shrugged at Terashi's suggestion. "I dunno. Maybe. I've heard trying too hard can make the simple impossible." He commented back, deciding he should consult Cadenza for advice as well before they began their next training session.
When Keiko entered, he waved at her from his chair. "Hey! You and that Al guy getting cozy with each other?" He asked with a little snicker, though that was quickly interrupted by Terashi's introduction. "Your sister? Well I'm be damned. If Lykas and I hadn't found her out by the waterfall that day, huh?" He asked, positive Lykas had told him the story of how Keiko had come to be here.

"It doesn't," Esio commented. He saw the trainer's sister.
"A pleasure to meet you, madam," he greeted with a bow.

Keiko blushed at Odd's comment, but chose not to dignify it with a response. "It's nice to meet you, too," she said kindly to Esio.
"I know, right?" I said calmly. "I only found out yesterd- wait, what? What do you mean 'found her'?"

"Still... I hear that it has been a few months to you all. Little more than a few hours to me," Esio thought aloud.

Odd blanched at Terashi's question. This couldn't go well. "Nobody told you?" He asked as he stood back up again. "Well......Right before Kei joined up, Lykas and I found her out by the waterfall. She got attacked by one of the local Pokemon but, thankfully, all it managed to do was hit were with some kind of a paralyzing neurotoxin. Lykas knew how to neutralize it, thankfully." He explained. "Anyhow, she said she'd gotten lost while making a delivery of some sort and that was when she got attacked and found us by accident."
He stopped for a moment, rubbing the back of his head a bit sheepishly before going on ."It's not like we didn't try to discourage her from trying to join, though. Neither of us expected her to have what it takes to do our kind of work but she was stubborn and wanted in anyway, despite everything we tried to tell her." He neglected to mention that "everything" was little more than that they were an international "policing" group that did a few unsavory things from time to time and it was dangerous.

"We can talk about it later, Ter," Keiko offered, "Just as long as you don't ask me to quit the team."
My fingers slipped underneath my glasses as I rubbed the bridge of my nose. "Alright." I said finally.
I had no idea how to respond to Esio's claim, so I said nothing more.
