"It's not my concern...simply my curriousity." Slowly he began to walk towards Vice, a sickened smile crossing his lips. Archon was starting to delude his mind again...and Lorn wasn't helping the matter any. Akeel, was struggling against them both, but unfortunatly Archon could have crushed Akeel, Lukien, and Lorn all at the same time. "Now...why would you drop your weapon in the midst of an enemy? Like I said before...only the dead are allowed here." There was a quick silver slash as Lukien swung his sword at nothing, still slowly drudging towards Vice.

"Why?
Why bring weapons of steel to disturb the dead?
Why build weapns of steel when they can be fashioned of raw elements...
Or pain..."

The pools of blood littering the battle simply seem to burst into flame, creating patches of burning ground around where Lukien walks.
He brings his left arm back from behind his back, the wound still there, but the bleeding had stopped.

"You say it so again...
Though you are here...
And you still draw breath...

"I am neither the living, nor the dead...I am beyond the point of the undead...I am their master! I hold their existance in the palm of my hands!" Lukien continued walking, ignoreing the flames sprouting up all over the place. Small creatures began to scurry out of no where, small...very small! No more then a foot and a half tall, these little creatures scampered along on all fours with tiny little claws used to claw at the earth. There was something else as well...creatures of this earth brought back from their eternal rests. Madness was one of the draw backs to obtaining that power he spoke of earlier, and because Archon was forcing his control over Lukien, it was all the more powerful and crazier! Figures began to lumber towards Vice and Lukien, flesh hanging from bits of muscles and snapped bones. Dried old blood with dirt, mud, and dust all over it's body. Some wore armor, but most looked to be simple peasant atires. "Pain is the strongest weapon at my disposal...and it's something you do not want to experience at my hands, warrior."

"Is it?
I am not sure you understand pain...
To writhe in agony within it's grasp...
Yet feed off it at the same time..."

The creatures appearance make no impact on Vice, as he straightens himself, regaining some of his composure.
The flames erupt into a small inferno, springing upward in strang spiral-like fashion, while small whirling windstorms pick up and pass through the area, dissapearing as fast as they came.

"No...
I doubt you could have experienced enough to fully appreciate it's pleasures...
Or to despise it entirely, and cling to it for sustainance..."

Lukien paused, Vice thought he didn't know of pain?!? Vice didn't know what he had to live with every day! Every last little- Lukien cut himself there, making another quick slash at nothing the creatures began to draw themselves back into the shadows. Pausing he just stared at Vice for a while before he started walking again, completely silent. Vice was trying to nudge him off balance, and it almost worked...but Lukien wasn't some pent up ball of emotions. He's learned how to harness his rage and turn it into strength, take his sorrow and hatred and mangle it into speed...he would not be thrown off balance...

The red energy began to arc around Vice again, growing much larger than when they were simply present on his arm.
The snakes of energy whip around him, striking at the ground and arcing back in toward Vice, leaving trains of blackened earth in their wake.
The flames intensify yet again, lighting everything ablaze.
The flames seemingly beaten back by the red energy.
Vice cringes in pain as the energy leaps around him, falling to his knees before he regains his center.
Rising back to his feet he focuses his gaze on Lukien.

"Then take consolation in your victory..."

With that, he collapses to the ground, melting into a puddle of black goop, whish seeps into the dirt and dissapears.

((Goodnight.))

((Forgive me, I do not know if it was my computer or Gaia that screwed up, but one of the two would not let me on gaia to finish our fight.))
Lukien paused, watching as Vice and the flames began to die away. The small Zurkien creatures began to scurry around again, driven to obey Lukien through the dark lord. A sence of rage quickly passed through him, but by the time he opened his mouth to speak it had crested. "We are going to rebuild..." That was all he said as he started off towards the far end of town. Enid would be a place for the dead...the Black Company killed them, so why should they be allowed to roam freely on the graves of his kin.

Lines of undead monstrosities roamed the ruined town of Enid, some carring axes and others carring picks. Zombies were walking back and forth from the small fortress building on the hill. They didn't speak, only releasing sorrow filled, pain woven, moans and screams. They would march down, through the town, and to the large forest encampment that they used to get the lumber they needed to build Lukien's fortress.

Lukien's boots crumbled the dirt under them as he strolled through the once beautiful town of Enid...before the Black Company destroyed it! They knew of the actions they were commiting, and they knew that because of their actions there would be consequenses! And he was that consequence! He would find every last member of the Black Company and run them through! Suddenly his hands itched for his blades, wanting so desperately to strike out with his uncresting anger. He was bigger then that, he told himself, beyond the worry of simple revenge and rage...he was the Dark Lord's most trusted champion, even if there were out there stronger then himself. He won the Dark Lord's trust, so he won the position of governor of the Enid Fortress...he won it by right. Lukien didn't really realize he was so far away from the town until he almost ran into a tree. He was heading straight into the forest, which he didn't really mind so much.

So this was death? Ha! Not likely. These were the thoughts of Verge Zenith. The man who had previously been Irvine Gray stood atop a large beech tree, overlooking the large bare patch of dirt that had once been Enid. The town he had destroyed. The town in which had happened to be rebuilt. He smirked and pushed up his shades which had slipped down the bridge of his nose again. He inhaled deeply on the cigarette which hung out of the corner of his mouth. He took the deathstick between his finger and thumb and parted it from his lips just as he blew the smoke in a wide arc before him. He placed the cig back in his mouth after the smoke had disappated into the air around him. Verge's appearance had hardly changed since his last visit to the Black Company and it's surrounding areas. Same old black trench coat, same old leather boots, same old black ripped jeans, same old, same old. Verge leaped from the tree and flipped once into the air as he landed in the center of the town.

"Ah, how the times haven't changed. Enid your still the same patch of dry a** land course now ya got a town built on ya...Hmmm, wonder who built this hell hole of a town? That is if you could call it a town..."

Verge looked around him. Several hundred undead creatures were building and constructing different things. Verge quirked a brow then shrugged as he inhaled some more smoke. He cared not of the happenings of the dead nor of their master. Whomever their master was they were obviously a creepy b*****d for having so much of the dead around him. Though come to think of it many of the BC members were strange like that...Verge himself was now a full demonic vampire. Blessed with...or cursed was more like with unholy power and a bloodlust that would drive even the sanest of men to kill. Ofcourse, Verge with his soul, didn't feel the need to kill. Infact Verge had become the master of his own bloodlust and could now go several days without ever having to feed. Verge looked around him again and now saw that several of the zombies and what not had spotted him. Verge sighed.

"A guy can't remenisce for more then two seconds before a horde of monsters interrupts him...Screw this...."

Verge leaped into the air and flipped backwards. He landed on the tip of a tree and bound away over the tree tops. It was several minutes later before Verge stopped and realized he was now over a deep section of the forest. Verge jumped through the dense canopy and fell to the floor below. He landed in a crouched posistion without a sound and stood up slowly, looking around him as he did. This place seemd familiar and Verge swore he knew where he was. A couple minutes passed before it came to him and he hit his forehead out of stupidity. He was close to his old waterfall home. Verge turned eastward and started off to where his old home was. He walked at a slow pace and looked around him in, taking in the familiar sights and sounds. And although he walked slowly it wasn't long before Verge was at the old stream that ran up to his old waterfall home. He crouched down and put his gloved hands in the water. The leather fingerless gloves were cupped and full of water as Verge brought his hands up to his lips to drink. The cool refreshing stream was just as good as he remembered and this brought a slight smile to his face. Verge stood up again and walked along the stream, following as he had done countless times before. It was not long before he spotted his old waterfall abode. His gold and silver eyes glinted in the dark as he peered at the sealed cave.

"What memories are stirred by seeing this old place. Some good ones...and some painful ones. But, enough with remeniscing...Memories will do me no good now...."

It was then that Verge had noticed he had smoked his cigarette to the butt and that a cigarette length of ash was now all that he was smoking. Verge tossed the butt into the river and pulled out another deathstick. He stuck it into the same corner of his mouth and lit it with a blue flame from his thumb. He moved over to a tree and stood their with his back up against it, staring into the glimmering water. He blew smoke from his mouth as he mused over several thoughts. He was back. He was finally back but for how long? And now that he was back, what was he going to do? Verge's sense of purpose had always been missing while he was in this area and knew that it would remain that way unless he was thrown into a pitch of Light Vs Dark. Thats how it always was at the Black Company. A battle of Light Vs Dark. No one ever saw anything the way Verge did. Through shades of gray. If they had though, perhaps things here would be different. They might be better off in this land although they could be worse off. All Verge knew was that it would be different.

"Huh...I wonder what they're doin at the BC...Perhaps plannin an attack on Mastema...or maybe Xol's become evil again...Ah, who cares. I certainly don't...Not anymore anyway. God damn I hate this place...."

Verge slid down into a sitting posistion. He could finally taste the ash in his mouth and smooshed the cigarette against the root of the tree he was sitting against. He took Fury from off his back and set it beside him. He kept Innocence and Impurity holstered in the back of his coat as he sat there staring into the cool, calm, clear water. It's tranquility astonished Verge. How somthing so peaceful could be in such a war torn place. This forest had burned once. He remembered it all to well because he was here when it happened. Yet, this little stream had remained. And it had managed a look of peaceful tranquility that it had astonished Verge. He sighed again and turned his gaze away from the stream. Peace and tranquility were two things constantly out of his reach. He closed his eyes and slowed his breathing until stopped. Verge didn't need to breathe because he was already dead but thats not why he stoppped breathing. He shut off his ears until everything was perfectly silent. Silence. That was what he desperately wanted. Verge went into a deep state of meditation.

Verge had learned meditation while being away from the BC and found that it helped to calm himself and help him think. Or it was just a place to go and relax when this world became to much of a b***h to be in. He went to his place of power, the mountains. Verge stood at the edge of a cliff face, looking down. There was a valley full of trees and a large lake in the center with the trees on all sides. Verge stood there, at the edge of all things. And it was the edge of all things. It was the edge of all things Verge found he actually could stand in this world. Verge turned away from the valley and looked away. Before him stood a great, big, gaping void of nothingness. Verge's black and white hair blew in a slight breeze and his coat billowed around his legs. He bared his fangs at the void but knew it was beckoning him forward. And he knew he would go forward. He knew he would embrace the darkness. He knew he would, because he'd done it all. Verge stepped forward and suddenly the cliff dissolved beneath him and Verge found himself falling into the abyss. Into the very depths of hell he plummeted...

Verge stood up, rage coursing through his entire body like blood. Fury was unsheathed and the blue flames had already been ignited. Verge himself was already engulfed in blue flames. He snarled fiercely and bared his fangs at....nothing. It was seconds before he realized there was nothing here to fight. The flames disappated and Verge sheathed Fury. He let out a breath and leaned back against the tree. He put a hand to his face and wiped away cold sweat from his forehead. Verge looked up at the forest canopy and sighed.

"No matter what I do...no matter where I go...the darkness is always around me....always inside me..."

Xol appeared in the streets of Enid, scanning the area before leaping up onto the rooftops for a better vantage point. His aura masking was at it's peak and his senses were highly elert. It was time to eavesdrop.

"C'mon... hurry it up you two..."

*Twi entered the desolate town, not really deterred by its destroyed appearance. Still, it seemed that something had disturbed it more recently. No matter. Twi keeps walking deeper into the town, searching for Nana's aura* Oh great.... doesn't look like she's here. >< Should've asked Xol how old that message was..... it could be weeks old for all I know. Hope I'm not late >>; Doesn't look like the message was old.... it was too new.

*Nana was still a few minutes away from Enid, she could just make out the lines of a giant pile of rubble. Her aura wouldn't be detectable yet, as it was natually somewhat masked. Witnesses were given that ability, so that they could go on about their duty, without being noticed or seen. About five minutes later, Nana had decended to about thirty feet above the ground. She was coasting in towards Enid, and once there would allow her aura to flare just enough to be picked up on, hopefully by Twilight if he was there. Once she was about one hundred meters out, Nana lands and starts toward the edge of Enid. As she moves along her wings fade, making her look..... human more or less. There were pleanty of loose stones to slip on, so Nana had to watch her step. She was late as she had feared, but hopefully not too late. She'd almost have to kick herself if Twilight had already been there and gone. Still watching her step, she looks up from time to time, left and right, hoping to spot Twilight if he was around*

I hope he didn't leave already...

*Twi looked around some more. Indeed he hadn't sensed Nana because she was shielding herself.... and half because he wasn't paying attention* Hmm..... *While he thought, he moved over to a pile of rubble to sit down* Might as well wait a while to see if she shows up. *Twi took a seat and crossed one leg over the other. While doing so, Twi formed a small, bright blue aura ball in his palm. He tossed it upwards and let it float about 30 feet in the air. It would serve as a sort of visual beacon if Nana was around*

*Nana spots the glowing blue orb of aura after a minute or two. She was lookng down at her feet, as so not to trip. This Enid was hell on the footing if anything. After spotting the aura ball, Nana wonders if she should take a chance and call out. In all likely hood it was Twilight, but just in case it wasn't... Nana stalks closer to the sourse. Finally spotting someone sitting down, Nana picks up her pace a little bit. The person sitting down was either Twilight as she hoped, or someone else, though the hair seemed right this time around*
