(Well, he was actually talking about the bathroom bit - I've read a few fanfics that claim house-elves can vanish waste from one's bowels - but that works too. xd )

Harry nodded and complied, the Slythergriffin (Slythindor? Grifferin?) deciding to sleep in the Griffindor dorms just this once; hopefully if he was there to keep an eye on Hermione (sort of like a bodyguard), Phobius wouldn't try some no doubt disturbingly effective plan to "steal" Hermione.
Phobius actually looked slightly disgruntled for once at the idea of not having his beloved close; still, he was adaptable, so he managed to calm himself by the time Katherine got him. "I am," Phobius stated in his usual monotone, following the other Slytherins to their dorm... though judging from his occasional glance in Hermione's direction, he was clearly considering his "steal Hermione" plan from earlier due to having gotten used to having her close. Besides, he was going to marry her eventually, even if the keyword there was "eventually" - ergo, they would be perfectly within their rights to use the marriage dorms, right?

(It's Gryffindor, not Gryffendor. Just letting you know xd )

"No problem, 'Mione; if nothing else, it'll help keep Phobius from trying to 'steal' you," Harry noted with a small grin.
Cue slight but abrupt drop in temperature, followed by Phobius turning to fix his sister figure with a warning stare, his expression quite clearly indicating that he did not find her lack of faith in any way amusing at the moment. "I said I'm fine; if I was not, I would tell you," he noted in that deceptively mild tone that indicated provoking him at the moment would lead to copious amounts of Doom.
...Apparently being abruptly separated from Hermione after becoming so used to her presence had made Phobius slightly more prone to aggressiveness than usual. Or maybe he was just agitated because he hadn't fed his creature side in a while. Actually, it was probably a little of both.
Meanwhile, the other pets similarly headed to their owners or the respective dorms, Hedwig settling on a perch, Confusa slipping over to Phobius and rubbing against his legs in an attempt to help him calm down, and Diego slithering alongside his human's side and unwittingly causing mild panic and/or staring among the Gryffindors.

Harry grinned sheepishly. "Well, the same thing happened when he escaped from the zoo, so... maybe?"
Immediately the intimidating aura vanished and Phobius cursed, hastily grabbing Katherine's head and silently hoping he wouldn't make things worse like he sometimes did.

(And now, because I'm sticking with what he told Hermione a while back about his feeding habits (I'm a sadist like that xd ), I did a coin flip - heads the fear vanishes, tails he accidentally amplifies it and turns her into a paranoid wreck. Fortunately for Katherine, it came up heads. mrgreen )

The fear immediately vanished, and Katherine came face to face with Phobius. The boy in question looked her over, simultaneously concerned, touched that she'd do that for him, and irritated by her self-sacrificial stupidity. After making sure she was all right, he recalled that he hadn't told her about the flaw in his feeding methods like he had Hermione. As such, he sighed, his expression softening slightly. "Thanks. However, that had a good chance of leaving you a paranoid wreck or putting you in a fear-induced coma, and that's not including whatever side effects that pill has - don't do it again. Understood?"

Harry just looked even more sheepish and hurriedly collected Diego, heading to his own dorm room.
Phobius sighed. "I appreciate that you want to help; that does not change the fact that I am confiscating those pills. If you want to slip one to someone, ask me first," he informed her briskly; he may not have been quite as protective of her as he was of Hermione, but he still wasn't going to let her risk her sanity just so he could have a meal.

Harry similarly went to sleep, smiling softly as he dreamed of Katherine.
Phobius nodded, pocketing the offered pills. "I won't tell him, but if you use them on yourself again without a VERY good reason, all bets are off. And feeding me doesn't count as a good enough reason," he added, just to make sure she understood that. Of course, he didn't say anything about using them on anyone else, but then he wasn't terribly concerned about the morality of the pills, just their possible effects on her.

Phobius quirked an eyebrow at being used as a glorified transport, but nevertheless humored her, bringing her to the entrance of the girls' dorms and stopping. "The girls' dorms are warded against boys, so I'm afraid you'll have to walk the rest of the way... or slither, if you prefer."

(Did not realize I'd forgotten to quote you on this...)

Phobius quirked an eyebrow at the lick, but after a moment simply rolled his eyes and headed to bed, dreaming twisted dreams of a dead Dumbledore and a Hermione who, er... well, let's just say her part in his dreams involved a lot of moaning and adult-rated things.

The next morning, Phobius came down to the Great Hall, early as usual, and got himself some coffee; as per usual, he took it black as his name. However, despite his calm exterior, his mind was currently calculating Dumbledore's game. It was clear that the old man was planning something; he knew that the man had been behind that one set of suddenly shifting stairs, and he suspected the old coot had something to do with that mirror they'd seen before break. Come to think of it, Mitis had said something about the Philosopher's Stone over the Christmas break, hadn't he? He paused as a thought struck him, a suspicion slowly but surely taking root. '...He wouldn't.'Of course, this WAS the man who'd snuck a boggart into a girl's room in an attempt to make her leave her House...'...He would. And because Harry is Harry, he'd walk right into it.' He sighed, starting to make plans to deal with the issue.

Phobius let the slight against his coffee pass, instead saying bluntly, "I think I know what that Cerberus we saw before was guarding... and I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that Dumbledore intends for Harry to help protect it." Yeah, that summed it up pretty well.
