DaMetaEX no comments on my 1500 list? is it that bad? No, we're just at a quiet moment right now, so replies may take some time to materialize. wink I wouldn't say your army is bad, however.. Your army is pretty low on everything really! Not a lot of anti-vehicle weapons, not a lot of anti-personal weapons, not a lot of bodies to soak up the incoming fire with either! Personally I'd drop the Officer of the Fleet in favour of a Master of Ordnance, drop the carapace armour, as this squad is not meant to fight anyway and give it a vox caster. No, scratch that last thought, no use really as only the veterans can take such an upgrade and they are probably one of the two squads being tossed into one of the two Chimeras. About those, do they pack two heavy flamers? If so, I'd suggest giving one of them, preferably the HQ transport longer ranged weapons, so it can hang back a tad more and provide fire support where needed. Regarding your Punisher, I'd drop the lascannon if favour of a heavy bolter and heavy bolter sponsons, it is far better to maximize the anti-personal output than to mix and match weapons. Same with the vanilla LEMAN RUSS really, while the heavy vehicle designation allows it to fire its ordnance weapon and any other weapon aside, the other weapons sadly count as snap-fire when that happens, which is a sad waste of a lascannon and multi-melta sponson shots. All in all, you'll be outnumbered and outgunned a lot. gonk

Not a lot to add to what has already been said. It's not your regular Guard army and if used around here, wouldn't stand up to other armies of that point amount. The army misses manpower, mobility and fire power to be blunt.
Having a veterans squad with three meltas and carapace armour in a Chimera is a nice anti-tank deterrent, but it will most likely only work once before being blasted into a crater or be assaulted into oblivion. Granted, at 1.5K there aren't many tanks out there and the 6th has made vehicle spam a little less likely. Heh.
But yeah, long ranged fire power is missing! If going up against horde armies, such as Orks or Tyranids, you'll be unable to dish out enough hurt to really dent them before they hit your lines. Not just that, but you are also out-gunned, something you do not want when playing as the Imperial Guard. Of course, out-gunning the enemy is a bit of a stereotype, but it is the main strength of the army.

so to recap redo command squad by droping carpass armor and change the officer of the fleet to master of ordanance (tryed him in 5th didn't help a hole lot)
im going to leave the punisher as is since pask is in that tank and the Command squad can give this unit scout special ruling which is a free 12" extra movement or an outflanking move
alter my vets from melta to a mixed army? like melta, grenade launcher, and flamers? and keep the carpass? or take one of the other docturns?
my chimeras seem to fine though
nothing about the ratlings?
ordanance rules state NON-Vehiles that fire ordnance receive the negative penilty so my battle tank take no penelty...though i might drops the mulit melta spintons since i use it for more long range engagments

commisar yarric is an eternal warrior very rare in the IG list he get the aura of discipline which is handy he has the effet inspirational hero which help IG charge in he has iron will which is like the reanimation protocal on a 3+ and he has 3 attacks base in combat all of which is Power Klaw so it would instant kill most units his WS and BS are 5 really rare trait for IG and has a fore field making you re-roll all sucessful wounds

So you have him because he is dead hard? He is a pretty big point sink, might be a good candidate to exchange for a small infantry platoon with an attached heavy weapons squad.

DaMetaEX so to recap redo command squad by droping carpass armor and change the officer of the fleet to master of ordanance (tryed him in 5th didn't help a hole lot) It takes some practice, but the Master of Ordnance can earn his points back many times over, as long as you have LOS for that crucial -4" on the scatter or just aim where the enemy formations are the thickest. 3nodding DaMetaEX im going to leave the punisher as is since pask is in that tank and the Command squad can give this unit scout special ruling which is a free 12" extra movement or an outflanking move I'd still advise on giving the Punisher a hull-mounted heavy bolter and heavy bolter sponsons for those nine extra shots at BS 4. DaMetaEX alter my vets from melta to a mixed army? like melta, grenade launcher, and flamers? and keep the carpass? or take one of the other docturns? The veterans are fine as is, weapons diversity will only weaken them and make them a waste of points. They are however an expensive one-shot weapon. DaMetaEX my chimeras seem to fine though Yes, about those: Two flamers? Also, one for your veterans and one for your HQ? DaMetaEX nothing about the ratlings? Snipers are fine and dandy against choice targets such as MEQ squads and smaller units of expensive models. They are quite useless against hordes however, as you need to take out a lot of models before Pinning comes into play with most horde armies, see: Orks as the primary example. DaMetaEX ordanance rules state NON-Vehiles that fire ordnance receive the negative penilty so my battle tank take no penelty...though i might drops the mulit melta spintons since i use it for more long range engagments Page 71 of the rulebook, bottom right snippet with " Vehicles & Ordnance Weapons." I also find myself agreeing with Vikki regarding Yarrick, strange. Haha, what is this world coming to? About Yarrick: Who does he join?

DaMetaEX so its crap and i need to re think it...alright FYI my stratogy is not to go out there and fight its to sit back and drop as many shots into the enemy before they get close it has worked quite well with this list Never say never. I've got some experience with the Imperial Guard, if I may tinker with your list a bit? HQ Company command squad - Creed, Master of Ordnance and Astropath (200 pts) Chimera - Turret-mounted multi-laser and hull-mounted heavy bolter (55 pts) Elites Ratlings - 7 (70 pts) Troops Infantry platoon (325 pts) Platoon command - Grenade launcher and autocannon Infantry squad - Grenade launcher and autocannon Infantry squad - Grenade launcher and autocannon Heavy weapons squad - 3x autocannon Heavy weapons squad - 3x heavy bolter Veterans - Grenadiers, 3x meltagun (130 pts) Chimera - Turret-mounted heavy flamer, hull-mounted heavy bolter and pintle-mounted heavy stubber (65 pts) Penal squad (80 pts) Penal squad (80 pts) Heavy Support. Leman Russ - Lascannon (165 pts) Leman Russ Punisher - Pask, hull-mounted heavy bolter and sponson-mounted heavy bolters (250 pts) Aegis Defence Line (50 pts) Total: 1470 points. Tactics: The company HQ and infantry platoon hold the line, using the Agis to the best of their capacity with a little help from the vanilla Russ and the HQ Chimera. The veterans, in Chimera, are the AT squad / fast objective nabbers, though the Penal squads are also ideal for the latter, given their expendable nature and their random effects in play. Ratlings can either hang back or better yet, infiltrate and set up shop somewhere else. Pask can still outflank and is now more than ever, equipped for the task at hand: Whittling down or outright destroying enemy infantry formations. There's still thirty points left to be spent on upgrades, or maybe a pair of bodyguards for Creed, should his spot behind the wall not be as safe as it turned out to be.
