Kohaku blinked as he looked away and watched him turn. She wondered a little what he was looking for. She looked back for a moment at her brothers grave and then back at him. Her business was finished here and there was no reason to stay. She quietly followed him, doing her best to watch where she stepped.

Al's eyes were still fixed on the grave, although he had already figured Kohaku might be following him. As he got closer the ground beneath him became more rough and less green. It was obvious the ground here was only tended by those payed by the government and not family reletives.
That made him smirk, family reletives for her? As far as he knew there had been no one of that kind for her in years. Then again her grave was not meant to be one of great importance. He stopped now, just in front of the grave. Small plaque on a cement slab,no epitah. Tira Ceeb, born 1963-1999. That was it,words rusting and going brass.
Al sat down on the grss cross legged, starring at the grave. So she had been here, possibly still here. It made him smile to think so yet he remained where he was, just staring at the words and reading them over and over again. "Interesting..." He murmmered, eyes flicking towards the name then to the appraoching Kohaku. "This twas the grave I was talking about before."

Kohaku followed him to the grave and stood right next to him, looking at the grave and tilting her head slightly. She wondered exactly who they were, and how he knew them. She looked around at the rest of the graveyard, seeing how this small place differed from the rest of it. She then looked back at the grave again and read it a few more times, still very curious.

"We were close." Al said quietly, more to himself than anyone. It was as if the entire place had heard and immediantly a flutter of wings was heard and a flock of crows flew over their head, leaving only the hushed voices of the winds. his eyes seemed dazed, obviously thinking of other times and people,no doubt people and places that lead to this woman and his meeting.
"This grave is as empty as yours though. No dead woman sleeps here at night." He spoke softly, his voice obvious with his affection for whoever the woman was. He smiled again, this time even chuckiling. "It was a surprise how easily she gave away her name. Beatrice was always like that though. Was never good at playing cards, always smiled whenever she got a good hand." He chuckled again, she'd taught him alot since they met yet she had so easily fled from him in the shadows of the night, maybe that was why it was his choce of transport. a last hope that he may see her in the shadows halls, only a few feet ahead.

Kohaku stared at the grave as he spoke, suprised at hearing the affection in his voice. She must've meant a lot to him.. And it seemed like she still did. Kohaku let out a soft sigh and looked over at him. Now most of her questions had been answered, except one. If she wasn't dead, why was there a grave for her?

Al sighed, shifting his body to face Kohaku. "She was a vampire as well. I don't know how old, older than me for sure. But she taught me everything I needed to know to survive. I was barely able to talk to women back then, other than those that were introduced to me." He sighed remembering how it had all panned out. It had been going around like a normal person and the he died, just like that. Refused to drink blood and starving on the streets in a poor condition. THen she came, slapping a hard one on his face, neck and back until he at last had to get up and tell her to quit it. Al pulled out a small obviously worn book from his pocket, handing it to Kohaku. "That's my journal from when I first became a vampire. I document everday of my life into one of those, there are about a thousand more of those hidden in a chest."
The first few pages were of normal everday life and it was only at the 5th page it began to get odd. Tales of craving and new senses came into play and how eventually he tried to stop himself drinking at all.

Kohaku sat down next to him as he spoke, listening to everything he said. She was a little suprised that someone like him had ever been shy around women.. But sometimes people changed dramatically when they met someone else. She knew that very well. She gently took the small book from him and opened it carefully, reading it and blinking at a few parts. She frowned a little as she looked at the 5th page and the others after it. She hadn't realized how hard the change was when people became vampires.

Al took another fleeting glance at the grave as if expecting someone to be standing there and smiling, telling him that he'd tracked her down at last and he'd truly proved himself to be a vampire of good character. But there was none, just the grave and his own imaginings and fantasies. "She's still here Somewhere. I'm not even sure she knows that I'm here, but I'll find her."
Before anything more could be said he stood up,removing kohaku's hands gently and placing the book back in his pocket. He smiled at her,his smile was sincere, probabbly more human like than it had ever been, even with Kohaku.

Kohaku watched his hands as they removed the book from hers, catching a small glympse of red on them. It didn't suprise her as much as it saddened her.. To know that he had to do that to people. Was it inhumane of her to understand that such a thing had to be done? She thought that most people would be upset at it.. But... The world was a cruel place.. People died.. And it couldn't be helped.
She looked up at his face and saw the smile. She had never seen him smile like that before. She stared up at his face and gave him a smile back, only.. There was a little sadness in her eyes. It wasn't that the smile was fake... It was just that she was experiencing two emotions at once. She let out a small sigh and stood up as well, not looking at his face anymore but staring at the ground she stood on.

Thinking that Kohaku was more or less put off by his smile because it was so diffrent from his overall being he wiped it off his face hastily. He stepped over the headstone and pointed out the name. "It's an anagram of her Real first name."
He grabbed a stick which had fallen to the ground close by and wrote in one of the smaller patches of dirt. Fisrt he wrote out the name on the gravestone. His letters were easily recongnised as not of this century, his letters all joined and all a manner of curves and slants.
Rita Ceeb
Beatrice.
He smiled. "She was never really good at hiding anything, even her own identity.Constantly had to move from one town to another when they found out about her

Kohaku watched him write on the ground and stared at the writing. She liked his font style. It resembled her mothers a lot. She read the name and thought about it. It was a name she'd never heard until now, but really enjoyed the sound of it. It was a delicate sounding and sophisticated name.
She then looked up at his face and watched him smile. It was nice to see that he had someone he could think about in such a loving way that he couldn't help but be happy. So did everyone else around her. Artemis, Fang.. Too bad it wasn't one of those contageous feelings that you could catch by just witnessing it happen.
She sighed and looked away at the other graves. She shouldn't be sad about it.. She should be happy... Everyone else was so joyful these days.. There was rarely a frown among them... That's why she always hid her emotions from everyone else. It wasn't nice to bring others down with you..

Al studied her features more closely this time,it wasn't just him imagining it. a sadness lurked just beneath the surface of her eyes but a happiness of sorts was holding it bay. That and what he assumed may even be pride to not tear up around another person. "Kohaku...I-I do care for you very much. But Beatrice..."
He turned his gaze towards the grave again then back to kohaku. "Beatrice was my wife. Still is since we haven't agreed yet on a point to disuss how long we really do want to stay together. I've searched for her for 5 years now, this grave, the underground. It was my lead, one of the only three I have. I refuse to let her get cold feet again and run off."
He took a step back from her, turning away and lookig at the ground. "But I really do care about you. Alot. Enough to question if this quest is just a fool's."

Kohaku looked straight back at him as soon as she heard the word "wife". Her eyes widened. She almost couldn't believe her ears. Oh wow!!! Hahahah!!! He's married?! What a twist! Oh, I love it! This is turning out a hell of a lot better than I planned!!! He shouted through all his laughter.
Her eyes quickly went to the ground, her hair shadowing them so it was hard to tell how she really felt. She kept staring at the ground for a little longer, unsure about what she should do now. She couldn't even look him in the eyes. Gee Kohaku, you sure seem disappointed. Gonna finally break down and cry after all of these years? Huh? Do it. I dare you... He whispered, adding a little hiss at the end of his sentence. Kohaku quickly formed a fist with one of her hands and squeezed as hard as she could, enough to draw blood.
She then looked up at him with a big smile on her face. The best one she could possibly give. Turning around on one of her heels, she slowly started to walk off, blood dripping out of one of her sleeves. You're such a pathetic little girl... Why do you still refuse to admit how utterly unhappy you are? He yelled in an annoyed tone. Kohaku simply kept smiling. Though her eyes seemed to give her away. They told a different story. And they were saying that she was miserable as hell.

Al turned around in time to see her forced smile playing on her lips, palm beginning to drip blood slowly. He watched for, as if in slow motion. Each frame preserving itself in memory, each individual run and drop of blood and where it landed or the pattern it made on her skin. Only her footsteps starting to walk away brought time back to normal for him.
"Kohaku?" He said. He hadn't wanted this to happen, what had he wanted to happen? what had he wanted to accomplish? Wanted her to say or do? Without even realising it he had pushed foreword and grabbed her blood covered hand, pressing it to his lips and cleaning around the wound.
Pulling away he whispered just loud enough for her to hear. "Don't. If you are insulted someway don't be. Five years is a long enough time for a heart to wander astray from its designated path and it seems I've come to the crossroad."
The next thing he did nearly shocked him as much as he thought it might shock Kohaku and he gingely took caressed her cheek, drawing circles with his thum band kissed her gently on the lips.

Kohaku hadn't been thinking rationally up until the kiss, which seemed to bring her back to her senses. It shocked her beyond belief as well. Her cheeks turned a soft pink color and her eyes, which had widened at first, closed. The taste of blood lingered on his soft lips. The man also seemed shocked. Pathetic little girl... He spat and faded out.
Kohaku's emotions were so distraught that she didn't know what to do anymore. What was happening? Why was he doing this? What should she do? She liked it but at the same time it felt so strange. She was kissing someone who had said that he was married just a few seconds ago. But something else overcame all the doubts about it, and that was her desprate need to feel comfort. She didn't care that she could taste the blood on his lips.. Or anything else. She just wanted to be close to him.
