Rhed King Cabron LaSwan Yesterday was great.
My grandma sent out a belated birthday gift with my mom - a cheque for $100. Bought everybody lunch. Then my brothers wanted to go for a walk, so I took them up to the Microplay, where I looked for about 20 minutes for used copies of Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song, the first Ace Attorney, one of the PS2 Persona games, and TWEWY with no luck.
So when I was ready to give up I went to the checkout counter and just bought another PS2 controller. I asked the guy casually when the last time he'd seen a copy of TWEWY was (like I've been doing for months and getting "LOL GOOD LUCK"s xd ) and he was all like "Well, actually we just got some in new with yesterday's shipment. Haven't had them in since 2009." And I jizzed in my pants.
So now I have $50 I wasn't expecting to have, a fridge full of leftover pizza, a brand spankin' new copy of The World Ends With You, and one hell of a weekend in front of me.
:""""""""""""""""""""D
I have all the tears of joy. Its a pretty cool game. Cookie lent it to me with "pretty tough" attached as a difficulty rating. I played through cookie's copy of the game assessing my pins, and trying to get a really effective stun lock for tough enemies. After beating the game, it was challenging, but not crazy, i lent it to our friend. She's all "I dont usually play games like this" so im like ill help you, being the top screen player. she picks random pins she likes, doesnt even look at the stats, etc. WELL.... she RAPES the game so hard its falls on its side in a stupor and she beats it in two days. so my advice is thus; do whatever the s**t you want and dont try to be good xd Oh, I've played it before; I just traded it in for pot money years ago and have regretted it since. I insisted on doing the entire game at level 1 for extra loot, and barring the fight with a certain someone at the top of Pork City (that was absolutely insane and I had to go up to L20 to even survive), I didn't actually find it very hard.

TWEWY is fantastic. heart I really want to restart it at some point and play through it again; I just need to get my backlog to a point where I don't feel bad about replaying games. sweatdrop
Also, I finished Final Fantasy IX. Sort of; I finished the main storyline, but I missed a bunch of the sidequests. I've got a back-up save right before I go to Terra, so I'm going to spend the next few days going back and doing some of the things I missed. I don't know that it would make my top games list, but I really enjoyed it and I'll definitely be replaying it sometime down the road (maybe once I've finished a few other FFs).
I have to say, I really liked the characters. Quina remains one-dimensional for the entire game, but most of your other party members come across as people. Some of them do stupid things, and I didn't necessarily like all of them, but I understood why they acted the way they did. Many of the plot elements aren't anything new, but they manage to be compelling because I cared about the characters involved. This is hardly the only thing the game does right, but it's something that gets a lot of points with me.
