Not really.
Looking at the controls... I'd say it's like DDR...
I liked that game a lot.

Can we go back to the pirate / ninja question for a bit? lol I'd say I'm a bit of both... I mean, I'd side withthe ninja, but I look like a pirate.
Getting to anime though, I think my favorite is probably FLCL, but that's really more a mini-series... For a full one I think I'd either side with Cowboy Bebop ( a recent addition to my list of things to watch) and Robotech (aka Macross).
Extra note of happy-joy-ness that is often lacking in Kozo posts! My t-shirts will very soon be available online. My friend has started an online index of webcomics that would double as an advertisement space for his mom's T-shirt business. I talked to him and he agreed to sell my t-shirts and iron-ons aswell! ^_^ huzzah! blaugh

They censored a lot of Indigo Prophecy in the US version. It's a good game, but suffers from the fact that it has basically no replay value. Normally that wouldn't be an issue, since most RPGs have no replay value either, but RPGs tend to last a very long time to make up for it. Especially Star Ocean: 'Till the End of Time, except that game has no replay value because it has no play value either.
Incidentally, it should be 'Til the end of time. "Till the end of time" implies that you are using a farming tool to expose more fertile space-time fabric with which to produce more shitty plots and plot twists.
Anyway, yeah. Indigo Prophecy is a solid rent and a fantastic game, but I wouldn't suggest buying it because once you've beaten it, there's no real reason to play again (unless you like changing up the scenario in various episodes, and that can be accomplished with well placed game saves)
A really fantastic game is Suikoden V. The story in that one is really great, even if the betrayal makes less sense than the one in Suikoden II. Also: Anything in the Shadow Hearts series is fantastic. Those who have played it will understand. Those who haven't should remedy this.
Edit: FLCL is fantastic, and I'd be a pirate because I have previously acquired copyrighted things illicitly. I wouldn't be a ninja because I am not an agent of espionage and assassination in fuedal japan.

At the moment, my current game of choice is Tenchu: Fatal Shadows. AI is a bit more intelligent (thank god) than the last few; enemies will actually scale rooves and buildings and such to find you, and they can see through cover a bit better (actually in this one you can hide in broad daylight, since cover really doesn't matter, due to the fact if you can walk through it, they can see through it).
The upside is that the game is more challenging. Bosses are actually worth fighting (except the second one, which is purposefully pathetic) and can be a serious pain (took me three or four tries to beat the final boss on easy mode). Combat's a bit sticky; you'll find yourself standing up and facing the wrong way (really bad for fighting enemies that can stealth kill you). That's right, enemies can stealth kill you. Misplace yourself in an aerial stealth kill, and you'll be the one with your throat slit, depending on the enemy.
They've added the interesting (yet highly annoying) concept of throws, which are remarkably difficult to do (and even harder to break if you're on the taking end of it) and enemies just love to spam them. Luckily they aren't that strong, and they're more of an annoyance than anything.
Stealth kills are now redefined, though Ayame still has her classic double-bladed throat slit (sadly it can't cut off any heads, from what I've seen), and they've added a nifty way of gaining new abilities through scrolls that stealth-killed enemies drop. Ranks still give you items, of course, but they actually tell you what you've earned now. Another perk is an interesting concept that was lacking in the first three Tenchu games; DOUBLE STEALTH KILLS. That's right, if you've got two enemies close enough together (enough for you to be within kill range of them both), you can stealth kill them, and get this, you can do it from both the ground and the air.
Interesting abilities include Sniper, which is the ability to stealth kill with shurikens (finally) with a well-placed one to the back of the head (hit detection is kinda off, but I'm perfecting my shot). This still, surprisingly, earns you scrolls, though you don't have a chance for the bonus scroll with the well-timed square button strike during the stealth kill (which also offers an improved view of the kill). For Ayame, the screen just goes inverted colours for a moment, and for Rin, it offers a bitching internal shot of the wound she inflicts (much like Tessu, for those of us who remember the hidden character from Wrath of Heaven/Return from Darkness). Also, in case you're wondering WHY Rikimaru isn't present, Fatal Shadows covers the time gap between the original Tenchu and Wrath of Heaven/Return from Darkness, which is good, since there was a question of 'so, what was Ayame doing all this time? Sitting on her arse?' Plus, it makes females look like very effective a**-kickers (as if Ayame didn't the first time around, but she was somewhat lacking at times). Rin's an interesting character. For a ninja (even though she only just completed her training), she's very...well, loud. Granted she can sneak around, but when you start attacking, she's quite loud (but generally that doesn't matter). For those of you who remember Tenchu 2: Birth of the Stealth Assassins, she's much like Tatsumaru, combat style.
Anyways, the game was damn hard for me to find. Of three game stores in my town (GameStop, EB, and Game Crazy), only Game Crazy had it, and they had one copy left. This leads me to believe that either not many were produced, or people just like the game. Personally, I think it has great replay value, simply for unlocking (and abusing) the skills, and also due to Level Selects interesting Ninja Select and Layouts feature, where each map has 3 different layouts (of items and enemies), as well as the fact that you can use a ninja on the map she wouldn't be found on in story mode, for example Rin on the first level, which is normally Ayame's story mode level.
Sadly, from both what I've seen from the game and found online on GameWinners, there's no hidden characters in this one. However there are alternate costumes (which I endeavor to unlock!) and yet more items for me to unlock, along with levels (doing certain things in certain levels previous to one where there's two paths unlocks a certain level). If you ask me, if you're good enough you won't have to fight too much to worry about being thrown to death. However, the AI sees a bit better and isn't as stupid, though it's only a step above cheese.
And for those of you who know what I'm talking about, thank goodness the Poison Riceball trick still works.

On the topic of Indigo Prophecy, the European version (called Farenheit) is actually worse in some respects because some of the censorship extends to edit out a gratuitous sex scene, which frankly was wholly unnecessary in the unedited edition. Seriously, if I wanted porn, I would just look at porn. Looking at porn in a game makes me feel unclean because it's not what I set out to do ("I will enjoy a pleasant time with this video ga--...I appear to have a boner!") To be fair, I do not know if the US version has all the secret blooper scenes, which are absolutely riotous, so I wouldn't play anything other than Farenheit. Not that it matters, since I pirated it before it's U.S. release anyhow.
On the topic of anime, I dislike a fair portion of anime for the sole reason of not knowing when to quit. Not that this is exclusive to anime mind you, it is a problem with almost all television media worldwide, because as long as something is profitable, corporate executives will continue to milk it instead of letting a good story end at a good point. For this reason Kid Radd remains one of my favorite webcomics of all time (or at least one of my favorites that has a sense of continuity, I don't expect things like Penny Arcade to end ever because they just make cute one liners) because it told the story it set out to tell, it did so in a reasonable time window, and ended on an absolutely beautiful note. Now if we could just get Fred Ghallager at Megatokyo to get his story to GO SOMEWHERE we might have some progress on our hands >.>
Oh right, what was I talking about? Anime! Right! I love FLCL, and more specifically the Pillows (I saw them live in Chicago, it was electric times a billion. It's my intention to see them at SXSW in Texas with Lykus someday), and I love the music from Naruto (but not Naruto itself, from episode 1 I recognized it as the new generation of DBZ, and I will NEVER get caught up in that s**t EVER again), but other than that I see a lot of could be good anime caught in the infinity loop of "LETS MAKE FILLER" which drives me bat s**t ******** insane. And don't get me started on series that ended, but were awful, like Evangelion. I WANT TO CRY ABOUT JESUS IMO. AND I WANT TO DO IT IN A GIANT PHALLIC ROBOT THAT IS MY MOTHER. KTHXBAI.
...Ugh.
One last note about webcomics: I get my cinna-on at the Cinna-bon

Although it's considered a legendery series, I'm not a fan of Escaflowne, also, I couldn't get past DVD 1 with Ronin Warriaors. it is so AWFUL.
Don't get me wrong, I love old stuff like Vampire Hunter D and so forth, but that anime just SUCKED.
I really enjoyed Fullmetal Alchemist, Last Exile, Trigun, Rahxephon (which is a lot like Evangalion, only better, in my oppinion at the least). I liked Ruroni Kenshin, wheres I didn't really enjoy Noir. Samurai deeper Kyo and Ninja scroll were too similiar, although I can't say that I fully hated them.
I really enjoyed Jubei's theme.
I'll review more later.
I've seen the majority on SHazzer's list, although I still odn't see most of my favorites on it.

HOMG!
Lykus is totally up to something. I'm going to make up an adlib sort of generator for Anime titles, so maybe I can make my own someday!
Let's see.
Pronoun Adjective Noun.
That sounds about right.
Maybe I could get a little more complex like:
Adjective Profession Name of Main Character
Sound good?
Wow, I could be sitting on a GOLDMINE. A FECKING GOLDMINE.
A MINE OF GOLD I SAY.

xD
I didn't put down RG Veda or Mar or Tsubasa or xxxHoLiC or x/1999 or Spirited Away or Fighting Foodons (lawl) or that Kirby one (lawl again) or Grave of the Fireflies (now I'm getting into movies) or Angelic Layer... I could go on. >.>

Hooray for Vampire Hunter D! Although the english acting in the first was absolutely atrocious...
I disagree for the Naruto bit. I don't think it's just another DBZ. Although that doesn't mean I like the anime.... Seriously... Why on earth does ANYBODY need to make that much filler? It's just annoying! It's even worse in english... Many of the voice actors can't pronounce the characters' names correctly! Although this often ends up being funny when they end up saying the name differently as the conversation goes on. ^_^ Meh, at least Naruto actually has an advancing storyline, whereas all Dragonball Z and GT seem to come up with are new and exciting ways to kill Goku!
I also think that, although Megatokyo IS rambling on, it is not a stagnant plotline. There is in fact LOTS happening, but it all occurs at a slow rate. It's not dead....it's just crawling.
Sooooooooo has anybody else seen Robotech (Macross) ? What a messed up series. Where else can you find a show where the most important object in teh show is never actually defined? Everyone is trying to get there hands on protoculture, but everytime the production crew changes, so does the definition of protoculture! It's just plain odd! Originally it was supposed to be a new source of power, but then for the films they decided that it would actually be the evolution of human culture, but THEN they switch it again for the prequel and make it the theory of alien intervention on the human evolutionary chain. Straaaange things are at work in the land of make-believe! lol
For the record, Ninja Scroll sucked. The only reason it did as well as it did was becasue it came out at the right time. It was simply a slim pretenxt to show a little bit of sex and a lot of gore and violence. the plot was thin at BEST! Bleh. suposedly the series is more substantial but I'm not sure I'm willing to take the time to look.
What the hell's up with gundam? why did they feel the need to recreate an entire new series just to recycle the same damn plot? Not that I'm complaining, I'm just confused. I mean, I DO enjoy Gundam SEED but it's just the same thing as teh original Mobile Suit Gundam series! Why not just re-air the Universal Century plot? Christ, re-air anyhting so long as it's not G Gundam! Ugh, I can't bring myself to watch anything more than the previews...
I'm surpirsed nobody's mentioned Princess Mononoke! That film held the box-office sales record until the coming of Titanic! Man the movie was good! What about Wings of Honeomese? (noooo clue how to spell it...) I think the old school anime films were probably the best.
One more question. How come nobody makes good movies anymore? Did anybody see Ultraviolet? The whole thing was one big contradiction! It's filled with a race of characters who are hiding from humanity becasue they have an infectious disease. They are all supposed to show a set of symptoms like long teeth, severe photosensitivity, and a life span of 12 years after infection, but NOBODY has these symptoms! They even go so far as to point out that the protagonist only has 48 hours to live....and then ends with her saying she and her adopted child were going to have a long life of crime fighting together....not al ot of sense. That and for a group of super-humans suffering form an aversion to light, they do a LOT of walking about in the glaring sun. Without sunglasses I might add. How do these movies ever make it past the post-production stage?

Oh Come on! Surely you must enjoy Gundam 08th MS Team at least! That one was pretty much a classic vietnam war movie! If you take out the mecha that is lol! G Gundam is just bad wrestling done poorly with lame costumes. For Christ's sake man, the Viking Gundam? It's sad when your big attack is flying around in a metal longboat, hitting people with paddles... I'm not gonna say that Gundam is the end-all-be-all for mecha anime, or even that it's the best, but I think it sparked a genre. Right now I'm looking into Gasaraki. That one looks really cool, and is the most politically realistic I've seen as far as anime go, even if I'm only on episode 3. Mecha wise, I think Full Metal Panic! is my favorite mech anime. Why doesn't North America do more mech shows I wonder? WE had a few in the 80's and 90's, Exo-squad, Battletech...well ok, Battltech was a peice of crap, but hey, I'll take what I can get. We need more mech shows on this continent! We recently had one, Heavy Gear, but it didn't really follow the game it was based on, and even teh premise is bad. It went from a story of political intrique and desert warfare on a desolite planet, to a heart-warming tale of friendship in a team of mech pilots for a league of sporting events. Not quite the same thing huh? The mechs in the show LOOK attractive enough, and the 3d animation is failry top notch as series go, as well as the Heavy Gear series was made in Canada, but nobody has aired it here. Personally I don't blame them, I don't think I'd ever pay money for that stuff.
Coem to think of it...TV sucks in general these days...
