Carchar-odin Cabron LaSwan Carchar-odin Jaycorn Yeah, the graphics are hands-down my biggest complaint. I got stuck a few times simply because I couldn't even tell what was what. The graphics don't even necessarily have to be good for you to be able to tell, for example, that you can exit an area by a certain place. That, and the weird translation, and the fact that breeding the gold Chocobo to get Knights of the Round was extremely tedious, and otherwise it seems the only way to beat the final boss is to grind forever. Also tedious. I guess that's not a ton of flaws, now that I think of it, but it's enough. I really liked it apart from those, though! The soundtrack is soo great omg. I'll admit, some parts of the overworld graphics make things hard to get to. My only real complaint aside from that is that you can't pause during battles. You...can't?
I thought you could.
Apparently I was mistaken. :I I don't know. I keep trying. Pressing Start and everything. Hasn't worked for me yet. Maybe my controller sucks. Yeah, I googled it and you definitely can. Weird that it doesn't work for you.
@Reg: sad Sorry to hear that. As long as you have happy memories of them, they'll always be alive in your mind. Hope you feel better soon.

Nevermind about the whole can't pause thing. I was wrong. You can do it, my controller just sucks. I figured you couldn't because I've tried using START before and it didn't work.
@Allegro: I'll give it a shot when I have the money, but I'll need some PSP game recommendations, because I was never really interested in the PSP back in the day.

Apparently I was mistaken. :I Yes you can. You've always been able to. Yeah, it'd be a pretty silly feature for the alleged 'best RPG ever' not to have, but I haven't played it in so long I wasn't gonna correct someone who was in the process of playing it. xd
I really want to play through it again, too. I just can't stand the presentation.

There is a psp game recommendation thread literally one topic below this one, so you're in luck! Also I flipped through the rec room archives and found out that I made a thread about persona 3 portable last July. Nobody replied. Y'all some johnnie-come-latelies

I don't know. Maybe FF8 or 9 or, even FF6 (which I just got) are better, but so far I really like FF7. The music kicks a**, I like a lot of the characters (including Cloud, who isn't nearly as "emo" as I thought he would be), the battles are fun, the story is engaging to me so far, and I like how funny the game can be at times. I'm having fun with it, so there.
@Allegro: I don't know. Maybe something else will come up. I'm still conflicted about getting a 3DS. On one hand I want to get it because of Ocarina of Time 3D. On the other hand, I really don't because Ocarina of Time 3D is so far the only game I'm interested in aside from DOA: Dimensions and Street Fighter IV.

It is a fun game! But the story could have been so micki better. Pressed to rank the FFs I've beaten I'd go 6 9 2 12 10 4 8 7 5 3 1
None of those are bad. Some of them could be better!
As far the PSP goes, I'd say don't bother. You seem to be interested only in established franchises. A lot of the great psp stuff is off the beaten path.

I didn't like 12 that much. Played the first several hours of it once, haven't played it since. Also, I like stuff that's not part of established franchises too. Eternal Darkness and Brutal Legend are two examples.
