Yeah, that was pretty neat (jerky animation though, I'm hoping it was just the broadcast).

I liked both premieres.. they were pretty kickin'. But gotsta admit, seein' Kell-Ogg in the Toonboot made me say "Well, the 90s are back!"; he was totally XTREME.
Most of the Metropolis VAs in The Batman were originals from STAS. And Michael Rosenbaum is the new Mayor of Gotham. And it looks like Jaeger was right; everyone and their sidekick will be guesting this season (including Nightwing!)... which theoretically paves the way for a The Batman-inspired Justice League. And I'm not sure I like the new Merci (yes, with an "I" this time). Especially with Clancy's voice on Luthor.
It also felt like the theme for both episodes was "Superman's kind of a d**k."

They didn't show The Batman here because the station decided they wanted to show ACC football instead. As such, they can go die somewhere. If they weren't going to show it they should not have advertised it for weeks. stressed Pricks.
Did not like the new Legion premier. Didn't like Kell-El, he looks like a villain and is pretty much a p***k. Didn't like "Gay Brainy". Didn't like what happened with Triplicate Girl. I don't like the whole tone this first episode has set.

I don't like the whole tone this first episode has set. Well at least it's not like you're missing a GOOD show. I like Kell, his look is pretty obviously directly inspired from Kon (and I'm calling him Kon from now on). I think the prickiness is a product of the time, although I only caught the last ten minutes of the episode. I want to see how he behaves in a time period where everything ISN'T trying to kill him. Moreover, however much of a p***k he is it's a lot better than the cardboard cut-out blandness of the Superboy from the previous season. I get what "gay Brainy" thing you're talking about, but honestly Superboy is just as gay in that show and I blame a lot of it on the fact that the whole series has generally bad writing, poor dialogue and worse voice actors. I gloss over it just because I know it's not what they're going for, it just happens because they're all innept anyway. My personal theory is they're going for an extension of the hero-worship (near servitude) of the last season, and as usual ******** it up. And Triplicate Girl...who didn't see that coming? Honestly?! And who cared? No one. She's never in the series enough for us to give a damn what happens to her, and it was incredibly st00p1d anyway to split up into threes when the universe is expanding to kill you.

I'd like to at least see the episode before I past judgement on anything, and while The Batman is not my favorite of the many Batman cartoons there's been, I still enjoy parts of it. They had Joker and Harley singing a Hank Williams song. As such, I deem it good.
I liked Clark from season 1. I didn't seem him as bland, more like what he was supposed to me, a young man trying to figure himself out in an envirirnoment where he's clearly out of his element.
The problem with Triplicate Girl is that we all saw it coming. How about doing something original and not kill off one of the Trips just for the sake of doing it. Would be nice if they had actually done something with her in season 1. She was barely there. It's like she was a filler character, and I like Triplicate Girl. I liked that they did a little something with her and Bouncing Boy. She got red shirted and that just sucks.
Right now, I've seen nothing redeeming about Kell. He's a pissed off, weird looking angstball. And if my eyes had rolled any harder with them combining Supermans DNA with Kryptonite to get rid of his vulnerability I would have spent the rest of my day trying to put them back in the sockets.
I liked the writing voice acting and dialogue for the first season. I liked the general tone of the first season. This feels like a complete 180. Unfortuantely I won't be home to see the second part. I'm hoping they'll be able to salvage things.

He wasn't trying to find himself, he was an afterschool special. Lightning Lad had more character growth, tried "finding" himself (especially in relation to his brother). In fact I think he and Phantom Girl are the ONLY characters that had any growth with the possible exception of Bouncing Boy. The rest were so flat, and remained flat, Superboy being the flattest of all. There were no negatives, no fllaw to his personality, he took everything with an "aw shucks" and then everyone felt bad about repremanding him for...well nothing, since he never DID anything with the possible exception of dating a Luthor. He was a 1950s characiature boy scout, there was nothing about him to relate to.

Y'know The legion and The Batman just don't interest me right now. The Legion was meh at best imo and I've never found any reason to watch The Batman. (Although if Clancy Brown's is back as Luthor I may give it another try...)
I just can't make my self care about those when Avatar's back. whee

I'd love to b***h and complain about the Batman and Legion premieres as well, but my VCR decided to be a d**k and not record them. crying
As for my diabolical plan to "claim" a dozen Manaphy this Saturday? Shot to Hell when I discovered it's only one per gamecard and it's going through as a Mystery Gift, not a regualr trade.
Crap.

And it's Superman, also known as the big, blue, boyscout. He's supposed to be decent, good person. I feel that they got the character right.

Good, decent person shouldn't mean flat, one-dimensional, and bland. Shame they didn't feel they could write him differently, probably wanted to try and create tension with the other Superboy. Hence the nice change.

So being a headcase is a nice change? rolleyes The only decent thing that can come out of this in my eyes Kell-El learning there's more to existence than just fighting and becoming more like Clark.

I just watched the first episode of the new season of Metalocalypse on YouTube. Looks like this season could very well be a lot more dark/sick than the first. Which could be good or bad, depending on how they do it.
Did anybody else get the album? It kicks a**. The new song titles are hilarious, especially Hatredcopter and Briefcase Full of Guts.
