Well how thick is the glass so I know how heavy of a chair I need to break the window.
I look around for something heavy to break the window with, hoping if he caught the thief he won't be blamed for breaking the window.

Sorry about that, didn't notice the post above mine. The glass isn't particularly thick, but the lead piping around each piece is likely to add strength to it. The heaviest thing you can see is the table next to your bed.

You find that the table moves rather easily, though it seems rather heavy.
roll a strength check to see if you can lift it. hmm, an elf doing heavy lifting. Maybe next we can have you do some masonry.

You have a point there. I'm afraid that moment may haunt me for the duration of my campaign. You strain against the table, finally lifting it after significant effort. Roll a d8 for damage on the window.

+3, well it was just pure luck on my part.
I swing the table at the window.

You swing the table against the glass and it shatters into pieces that fly out into the courtyard. No matter how incredibly awesome other moments in the campaign are, things like this are the ones people will remember. It's the bane of all DMs.

I suppose this could be my fault. The spot DC was obviously too high. You notice that the cloaked figure is now gone from the room, but the orb hanging from the ceiling still illuminates it. In one corner, you see Setna curled up sleeping. You hear a knock on the door and Cy saying "Smeg, Val! What was that all about? I'm trying to sleep here, we'll have plenty of time to destroy this place in the morning."

You fool of a druid, someone was just in this room. I'm surprised Setna didn't alert you of him.

"That was ME!" Cy roars, "Are you going to go smashing through windows every time I try to get a little fresh air??" Cy goes back to his room, grumbling about being woken up by "the only ranger who can't tell a druid from a thief."
