Kasumi tilted her head before her hand snapped out to the side as, in a swirl of blossoms, her own soul weapon materialized.

Merrick sighed as he managed to rise to his feet, not noticing how Haname was looking from one to the other and blushing slightly. "Aye, I sensed it... seems something got my mother pissed off, and usually, if I'm right, then it's either cannibals or someone she considers a friend is in danger... if it's both..." he said with a slight shudder; he had used a clone to speak for a while to his mother earlier before they'd come to this realm and had learned some interesting things about her. He was still in his vulpine form and chuckled softly, wondering if Constance had noticed that she had shifted into a foxish form as well though her fur was a deep cobalt blue with subtle twilight purple highlights that made her dark hair stand out even more; he had given her his mating mark while they'd been enjoying one another just behind her right collarbone just above her shoulder blade.

Lorcán saw Kasumi's soul weapon and shifted his weight as he unclipped his own and started swinging it in circles, crackling wisps of lightning following the bladed weight and chain before he let his grip slide closer to the weight. A bolt of lightning blasted through the chest and out of the back of one of the rats swinging a sling whose stone narrowly missed Merida's head when the rat unintentionally released the stone upon his death.

The rats howled audibly as several charged, not noticing the killing intent in the air.

Kaosujin Ryu tee hee...my man is making me my birthday dinner tonight ^_^ Constance was now standing and it was only then that she noticed she had changed. She held her arm up, eyes widened slightly, as she took in its appearance. "Whoa, how did that happen?" She asked as she looked to Merrick, blinking a little. ~~~~~ Merida had moved just in time, avoiding the stone. Her eyes narrowed as she looked over at Lorcan. "Thanks for that." She grinned at him before darting forward. She reached a rat and her hand lashed out, sinking into his chest. "How about a little heat?" She said softly as her eyes narrowed. As quick as she had gotten her hand in, she pulled it out. Her hand was clean, no blood or anything on it. She backed up as the rat suddenly began to convulse and scream. Soon smoke was rising from its skin and it irrupted into flames. That was a little trick she had never used before. Her mother had taught it to her long ago, telling her it shouldn't be used unless those she truly cared for were in danger. It was a dangerous technique and could easily kill the user. Amelia's head tilted to the side as Merida used that special little technique. She had read that the other witches family could do that, but she had never seen it used despite all her years. "Interesting," she said softly as she took a step forward. She knelt down, her hands digging into the earth. As she did so the ground began to shift beneath several of the rats closer to her. When they were about to reach her, the ground split and they fell in. Cassandra's eyes widened slightly as she saw what Merida had done. She had never thought she would see that. Nearly a year ago she had found her mother's diary, and in it was written how her mother had witnessed Merida's mother use that technique to save her lover.

Kasumi shifted her weight as she unsheathed and decapitated two rats with one fluid slash before sheathing the katana. The blade flickered with a ripple of pink light as she tilted her head slightly. "The only reason I don't release him is because this land doesn't need more bloodshed than absolutely necessary," she murmured, referring to her soul weapon.

Merrick looked mildly amused. She had peaked more than once.... four times, actually. "When you came the second time,"he said with an amused chuckle.

Lorcán cocked his head fractionally, his eyes narrowing. His eyes shifted as the ground sealed itself as Amelia lifted her hands from the ground, not all that surprised.

The rats paused, having lost more than two thirds of their number within minutes. They then fled wisely, unintentionally leading their foes straight back to their lair.

Constance flushed a little and then smiled at Merrick. "But how?" She was examining the fur that was on her body. It was strange, but felt right at the same time. She hadn't noticed that Merrick had placed the mating mark on her. ~~~~~~ Amelia stood up and dusted off her hands. The rats had decided it was time to flee. She didn't say anything as Nala followed stealthily after them. The feline wanted to keep an eye on them and find out where they stayed, just in case. "Well that was highly entertaining," Merida said as she looked over at the others. "Should we follow them?"Cassandra lowered her weapon as the rats took off to save their skins. Her head tilted to the side slightly as she looked over at Merida. She then turned her gaze to Kasumi. "What do you think?"

Kasumi tilted her head. "We should do so carefully; it is always possible that there are more than just... twenty or twenty five of them," she said quietly.

Merrick tilted his head, baring his lengthened incisors. "It wasn't all that hard,"he said as he tilted his head. He wasn't that surprised, though she was probably feeling a little stinging on her shoulder where his incisors had bitten into her when she'd come.

Lorcán tilted his head as he shifted his weight, his eyes shifting subtly around through the trees. He frowned fractionally as one of his clones sent something back upon dispelling. "The kids are in cages... and strangely the rats are feeding them.... s**t..." he said quietly before cursing as he realized what the rats were.

Constance reached over her shoulder to where she felt the stinging. When she realized what Merrick had done she smiled and walked up to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Come on, we had better go and find out what's going on."~~~~~
"Then there is no need for discussion," Cassandra said as she looked over at Lorcan. "We need to go get those kids.""Then let's get a move on." Amelia said as she began to walk in the direction that Nala had gone. She could hear Merida following close behind her.

Kasumi cocked her head as she jogged after Amelia and Lorcan, not that surprised that Merida was next to her. If I didn't know better, I would have said Lorcan had a little Garou blood in him, she thought with a slight smirk.

Merrick smiled slightly, focusing as he flicked his wrist, their clothes flying out of the nearby cavern as if alive before hovering before them. "What are we waiting for?"he said as he tilted his head, quickly grabbing his clothes in one hand and shifting so Constance's clothes hovered before her.

Lorcán spoke through gritted teeth. 'Let's move," he said simply, unconsciously shifting into a loping stride that left a sense behind him almost like an animal on the hunt.

Constance chuckled as she grabbed her clothes and quickly put them on. She pulled her hair out from underneath her shirt, giving her head a shake. "Well I think we are waiting on you, slow poke." Constance teased as she moved a few feet ahead of him. She looked over her shoulder at him with a grin. ~~~~~ Cassandra followed after the others quickly, watching their backs. Sure all the rats had ran away, but one couldn't be too careful. Who knows if any stayed behind to try and catch them off guard. Amelia's lips quirked into a small smile as Lorcan appeared next to her, keeping up easily. She herself was using the ground underneath her to move her faster. Otherwise Lorcan would have been ahead of her. "Those kids got them into some sort of mess," she said thoughtfully. Merida's hair flew behind her as she ran with the others. She hoped they got to the kids fast enough before those rats did anything serious to them.

Kasumi laughed softly. It had been a long time since she'd seen some actual action in life, and she was enjoying it.

Merrick deliberately got dressed a bit slower than Constance to tease her a bit. "Oh, really?"he said with a snorted laugh. "You look like an anime lover's wet dream," he muttered under his breath, referring to Constance even though he half forgot that with her changed form also came keener senses, mainly hearing, smell, and sight.

Lorcán tilted his head, watching Amelia from the corner of his ringed eyes. "That they did... if what I'm suspecting is right, then we aren't the only ones tracking them down. I wouldn't be surprised if those two old friends of Merrick's are nearby and probably doing the same as us," he said with amusement.

Constance's head tilted to the side as she heard what Merrick muttered under his breath. An eyebrow raised slightly as she turned to look at him. "Anime lover's wet dream, huh?" She smirked at him. "Well this," she motioned to herself, "Is only for you. So all other anime lovers are out of luck."~~~~~ Merida heard Kasumi laugh and she smirked a little. This was actually kind of exciting, she had to admit. It was a different kind of action than the witch hunters coming after them. This was a little bit of a relief actually. Something different. "It's good we won't be dealing with this by ourselves," Amelia said with a small nod. "Have a little bit of help. Others to keep us from going overboard trying to protect those kids."

Kasumi chuckled. "Funny. Most of the time it's us hiding from the hunters... for once, the roles have been reversed, and pardon the pun... but those rats are our bitches," she said with a snicker.

Merrick coughed slightly when Constance spoke, but he grinned at her words. "It's their loss... besides, I have no doubt you'd have your own fan club if we were.... you know,"he said with a chuckle. He knew that she was physically stronger now that in essence, she herself was half Kitsune. "Shall we?" he said with a slight bow as he walked towards her, unconsciously moving in a very primal and fluid manner meant only for his mate.

Lorcán tilted his head with a half smile. "Trust me, when it comes to 'going overboard'..." he said as he flicked a thumb over his shoulder, since when they were younger Kasumi had always been the kind to act first and think or talk later. "A certain someone may make things messy," he said with a sigh.

Constance chuckled as she reached forward and took a hold of Merrick's hand. "Yeah, let's go see what has happened in our absence." She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before taking off in the direction she had felt the power. She was only vaguely surprised that she was now moving faster than ever before. ~~~~~~ Merida laughed softly at Kasumi. "Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it? I like not being hunted for once."Amelia snorted softly and nodded. "Then we will also have to keep an eye on her. We don't want to ruin this place any more than necessary." She could feel that they were almost to where the rats had gone too. Nala was waiting for them before going in.

Kasumi nodded in return. "I would joke `who's your daddy` but I'd be kinda scared to what birthed creatures that looked and frankly, smelled that horrible," she said with a sigh.

Merrick moved in a quick yet fluid lope, pushing off as he reached the edge of the stream and unconsciously landing amongst the trees and fluidly leaping from branch to branch quickly. "It feels both strange and natural, doesn't it?" he said with amusement as he glanced back at Constance where she was just behind him and to his right.

Lorcán shrugged. "Hopefully she won't lose her temper too badly... one of the few things she really hates other than hunters and criminals are cannibals," he said with a slight chuckle.

Constance laughed as she followed after Merrick. "Yes, it does indeed! I can't believe how wonderfully natural it feels." Her hair flew behind her, swirling in the wind. Running freely like this with Merrick was one of the best things she could ever do. It made her feel so free. ~~~~~~ Merida snorted and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I would hate to see what birthed 'em too." She glanced back over her shoulder, catching sight of Cassandra watching their back. Amelia shuddered at the mention of cannibals. "Aye, so do I." She began to slow her stride a little. "We are getting close. We need to slow down and approach quietly. Catch them off guard."

Kasumi paused as she heard a slight creak before she jumped at Merrick's voice, somewhat surprised that he'd caught up so quickly.

Merrick cocked his head, noticing Cassandra before a playful smirk crossed his face as he deliberately missed the next jump, landing with a barely audible thump behind Cassandra. "I assume this has to do with that energy burst we sensed from probably a good two and a half miles away," he said with a deadpan tone, fighting back a grin.

Lorcán blinked before he glanced back, an itching on the back of his neck the only warning before two more Kitsune landed behind Cassandra. He thought he recognized one, but not the other. There was definitely something different about both of them, but he couldn't put his finger on what it was.
