Sniffing him, he recognized the smell of wolf from him and said "I smell a hint of winter wolf on him... along with summer... Were you in the Winter pack's base?" He was expecting an answer from him, but only got silence. Shaking him slightly, he wanted answers, even if it involved breaking his arm for such a minor question.

Taking a closer look at it, Tirion said "No, if it was it wouldn't be so scared in front of a wolf and fox... It would actually think we'd be friendly. At least I think so."

Hearing what she said and remembering Frudy, Jack instantly broke out into tears. He wasn't sobbing, but the tears were coming down his face anyway.
Deciding to see if he really was mute, Tirion pinched him in the side and got a small squeal of pain as a response. Trying it three more times with the same results, he didn't get much information about if he's mute or not from it.

Making a two and a one with his hands, Jack showed them how old as Tirion simply said "Too young to eat. Way too bony... If we keep it for a while though, it might taste better..."
