Riza wasn't at all surprised to see Diemia jump forward, already shooting off a stream of bubbles directly at Jaden's Flareon. She wouldn't get a chance to see if they hit as Eris had decided to act quickly as well, and now a cloud of thick smoke was pouring out of the pores on the Cyndaquil's back. The Corphish gave the fire mouse a bit of an annoyed look as now she could no longer see her opponents, but when she realized that they wouldn't be able to see her, either, she thought of it as a good thing. The Corphish nodded at the Cyndaquil, taking a defensive step forward. She would never admit it, but she was fearful of the little one's safety. "Good job, you two," Riza said with a nod. She was glad to see that Diemia was getting along with Eris, and especially in a battle situation at that.

'Well she sure didn't waste any time,' Jaden thought with a smirk as his younger sister issued her commands. It wasn't at all surprising that she would have her Corphish take advantage of the type match ups, though he didn't even have to give the order for Flareon to dodge. The fiery fox like Pokemon hopped to the side, looking over his shoulder at the bubblebeam as it hit the ground where he'd previously been standing. He had to admit that the funny crab Pokemon had good aim. Jaden glanced at his two Pokemon for a second before making a choice for his commands. He knew that attacking Riza's Pokemon directly could end very badly for them, but he wasn't about to let them turn his Pokemon into punching bags, either. "Hey Riz, how are your Pokemon at evading?" he called out, not at all bothered by the smoky haze on the battlefield. "Heracross, Flareon, Tackle!" There was little hesitation from the older sibling's Pokemon as they both raced into the haze, looking for their targets.

"Evading?" Riza repeated, hearing the sound of her brother's Pokemon rushing into the fray, and suddenly she wasn't sure if the Smokescreen would be enough. "Watch out!" she called, her tone on the verge of panicking already, and she mentally scolded herself. How could she become a top coordinator if she couldn't keep it together this early in a match? Back in the smoky fog, Eris was on guard, keeping watch for anything that happened to come her way, using both her normal senses and her gift of foresight. She could sense something coming at her from the left and instinctively she hopped back and huddled down, being sure to keep the flames on her back extinguished. A split second later she spotted the large form of the Heracross looming over her, though he seemed to be confused and a bit disoriented. He had no idea where she was! Diemia, however, had to rely purely on her hearing and vision in order to figure out where her attacker was coming from, but the Flareon's movements were swift and silent. Diemia closed her eyes, and smirked, or she would have had she the ability to. She held her claws out at her sides and focused, and just like that a green, protective barrier formed around her, and just in time too as only a moment later there was a loud thudding sound, like something heavy striking a metal shield, and through her protect Diemia could see the Flareon getting to his feet after ramming into and bouncing off the barrier.

The two girls didn't have to look very far before they spotted two figures playing by the water's edge some twenty or so feet away. Cara immediately recognized one of them as her Shinx and rushed over, and Katie just sighed and shook her head as she and her own Pokemon followed. Once they were closer Katie realized that the Pokemon the Shinx had been playing with was a Psyduck. "It looks like your Shinx made a friend," Katie said, not caring that she was stating the obvious. "That must be why it ran off to this place."

"Yeah, I guess so," Cara said, standing up. "I caught my Shinx near the Oreburgh gate so I wonder if the two of them were friends from before?"

Katie shrugged. "Probably." She looked down at the Psyduck as it waddled over to the two humans, holding its head in its hands. "It looks like it has a headache. But you said you needed more Pokemon, and your Shinx already likes this one," she said. "You might as well capture it."

"Oh, that's a good idea," Cara said excitedly, now rummaging through her bag for an empty pokeball. "But shouldn't I weaken it first?"

"Only if it's unwilling," Katie answered. The Psyduck was now standing directly in front of Cara, looking up at her with wide, and very vacant eyes. "I don't think that'll be a problem, though." Cara nodded and knelt down before touching the ball to the duck Pokemon's head. It disappeared inside the ball and closed quickly, the light dimming without any fuss at all. "Mystery solved," Katie sighed. What an enormous waste of time that had been.

Kilik was about to take a step forward, when he noticed a bunch of trainers gathering around and pointing up to the sky. "Hm?" he looked up as well, squinting. The sun was right in his face, but he seemed to make out the silhouettes of two Pokemon, one flying and one clinging to the flag pole. He ran a few steps forward to get a better look. "Pardon me," he said, squeezing between a man with a camera and a girl holding a PokeBall. It was another Treecko! "Hey!" Kilik laughed, looking over at his own Treecko, and pointed up. The gecko looked up and saw the other one, smiling. It was a boy, too! Kilik watched as the Pokemon above did a marvelous Pound attack and jumped back when the Wingull nearly landed right on top of him. "Gotta say, that Treecko sure knows how to show off. He's not nearly as modest as you, Treecko." She didn't care whether he was modest or not. Such a stunning display! She buried her face in Kilik's neck and blushed heavily. Oh, what would that other Treecko think of her? She wasn't nearly as strong as he was or anything. Treecko looked up in time to see him bow and her face grew hot.

"Aww, look at you," he laughed, "Looks like Treecko has a little crush." Kilik patted his gecko on the head and smiled. He then looked up at the other gecko and raised his eyebrow, his lower lip twitching in thought. There's no way a wild Treecko would have managed to make it's way onto the ship, he deduced, Much less there being a wild Treecko that strong, or willing to be so comfortable around people. He's got to have a trainer. I wonder who he belongs to?

"WHAT!" Giovanni roared at one of the grunts who came rushing to him, bearing the news of Kasiya's evolutions. "Impossible!"

"Yes, sir. Her Bayleef and Marshtomp both evolved, in the same battle none the less."

Giovanni was shaking with rage. A Meganium and Swampert on top of the Pokemon she already owned? Kasiya was becoming an even bigger threat to him than he had anticipated. Surely, she was powerful, but now...growling to himself, Giovanni put his hands on his head. "I must find a way to reverse the evolution process! It doesn't even have to be permanent, it just needs to last long enough for me to gain the upper hand! And if they had only the base forms of their Pokemon to face me, then I would never lose!" He looked to the grunt who was still in the room. "I want the MM2 project put on hold! Tell the scientists that their priority is Reverse Evolution!"

Mia laughed at Nero's hilarious antics, or perhaps it was just his personality. Either way it was an enjoyable and funny sight, one of those small moments that just make life worth living. The Meowth, as she had recently learned, was an odd cat like creature. It looked more plain than the cat Pokemon they had here in Sinnoh, and the gold coin on it's forehead was particularly peculiar. It did explain it's love for shiny objects though. You had to love shiny objects if you had one attached to you head, at least that's how Mia's logic worked.

Rhyme, by now, had gotten bored with the empty tin can. She wished the orange soda would flow continuously, but apparent the metal container could only hold so much. She slapped it with her twin tails, into the near by recycling bin. It was good to save the earth! Go green! Raising he finned arm, Rhyme jabbed Mia in the side and barked a few times.

"Okay, okay!" Miyamaru laughed, "Calm down already, sheeeeeesh. Just a few more minutes, okay?" Rhyme grunted in response, folding her arms across her chest. She eyed the cat Pokemon with a glare. Couldn't they leave already? This was a waste of time now that both of them were already better!

"So, Nero, what are you up to? Getting badges?" Mia asked, only to answer the question herself a moment later. She had a quick tongue, the poor boy stood no chance at even answering the questions posed to him. "Me? I'm going to Oreburgh to get my first badge!"

Both Riza and Jaden blinked in confusion as they heard the sound of the Flareon crashing into something, and they both peered into the smoke, trying to see what had happened. Riza caught sight of a flash of green surrounding her Corphish just before it vanished, and she wracked her mind for a moment, trying to think of what that had been. 'Oh, I know what that was, it was Protect!' she thought, smiling. That would be very helpful in the future, for sure! She hadn't heard anything from Eris though, so she hoped that the Cyndaquil had manage to avoid being struck down by the Heracross. "Eris, Extrasensory," she called. If she was remembering correctly, Heracross was part fighting-type so that meant that the psychic-type move could do decent damage, even if Eris was much lower level than the Heracross. The Cyndaquil focused her mind towards the big scary bug, the psychic energy rippling from her body and slamming right into her target. Eris must have scored a critical hit because the beetle staggered back from the hit. He couldn't believe that the puny little thing had hurt him! Riza had also called for her Corphish to use bubblebeam again, and this time the Corphish didn't plan on missing. She opened her claws and sent the bubbles at her foe, deciding that she wouldn't quit until she had proved herself.

"Wow, that Extrasensory is a pretty neat trick," Jaden commented, actually impressed. He knew that his Heracross must have taken a critical hit, otherwise even a super effective move wouldn't be that effective from such a low level Pokemon. 'Even still, when that little one gains some more experience and gets stronger,' he thought, looking to his Flareon. "Evade and follow up with sand attack," he called. Flareon nodded and attempted to do just that, though the bubblebeam was a narrow miss this time around. The fiery fox growled and swept his long, bushy tail against the ground, kicking up a good sized cloud of sand and dust into the Corphish's face. There, that ought to slow it down some!

Katie, Genki and Kord escorted Cara back out of the cavern and into the gate, and that apparently was where the two would go their separate ways. Katie was heading back to Jubilife and Cara wanted to go to Oreburgh so she could start preparing for her own first gym battle. "Take care of yourself," Katie said, waving. "And be sure to raise your Psyduck well. It could give you an edge over Roark," she added before making her way towards the exit.

"I will, and thanks again!" Cara called back, her two Pokemon sitting happily at her feet.

Once she and her Pokemon had made it outside, Katie stopped, and smiled. "Okay, it was a huge waste of time, but it was nice to help out, I suppose." Genki looked up at her and snickered, while Kord just sat patiently at her feet, waiting for whatever would happen next. "Okay guys, let's get to Jubilife. With any luck we can still make it a good ways to Floaroma Town before dark." The two nodded, and they continued walking. Though her Pokemon weren't exactly tired or worn out, Katie didn't want to get into any battles at least before she got to Jubilife, so after a while she recalled Genki and put Kord up on her shoulder so that they could move a bit faster. The young Elekid loved being perched up on his trainer's shoulder, and he chattered happily as the two came upon Jubilife City. "Well, here I am, home again," Katie sighed. She had no intentions of going home, however, so instead she made her way towards the pokecenter.

Once the red roofed building was in sight, Katie hurried on, stepping through the sliding doors, a little happy to be out of the sun. She glanced around quickly, spotting a few trainers here and there. She walked up to the front desk and gave the nurse three of her pokeballs plus Kord and then she turned around to wait. Two of the trainers in the center seemed to be conversing, one of them with green hair and the other with blue. There was something familiar about the blue haired girl but Katie couldn't quite put her finger on why. The girl had a Floatzel with her, and the boy a feline Pokemon, one that she had only seen in person once. 'Wow, a Meowth,' she thought, wondering where he had got it from while also hoping her Pokemon wouldn't take too long to be healed.

Jason exited the battle hall of the ship after having witnessed a few battles. As much fun as it looked he really didn't feel like battling much. He despite having taken a rather long nap, Jason was more interested in doing something calm and peaceful. So he thought and thought and thought as he strolled across the deck of the massive ship watching he people go about their business. It wasn't until he noticed several men sitting in chairs lined up by the rear of the ship, and of course he had to see what was going on. Much to his surprise, these men were all fishing! What a great idea, why didn't he try to catch himself something as well? The men all looked upset as if nothing had been biting all day, but Jason wasn't discouraged in the slightest. Taking the farthest seat away from the fishermen he pulled out his Good Rod and cast his line to join in the 'hunt'. A few of the fishermen looked over at him and scoffed, how could this kid think he could do any better than these old pros? But Jason paid them no mind, he simple sat in his chair whistling happily as he waited for something, Zeus hovering about making a very quiet hum.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Kenneth stroked his chin as he pondered his options, there were only so many pokemon he could choose to be a good opponent for Pupitar. But he smiled wide once he thought about it. "Oh my yes, I know just who to use! It's a reunion!" He said as he reached into his bag and pulled out a plain old Pokeball, tossing it out next to Fearow. The light flooded forth from the pokeball and took shape, the Kicking Pokemon showed his face once more before Crenu's presence. Not since the trade had occurred had Hitmonlee had a chance to do battle, though Ken had let him out a few times while he was apart from Crenu. This new trainer, he wasn't the same in any way. Not as serious as Crenu and much louder, to be honest Hitmonlee didn't care for it too much. But this man was strong, stronger than the blond trainer at least. Something about him reminded him f his first trainer. A certain jolliness that was able to command power, and so Hitmonlee would follow this man for now at least. He glared across the field at Pupitar, he's always been so smug and Hitmonlee couldn't wait to kick his face in. "Heh heh heh, let's begin then shall we? Hitmonlee, Rolling Kick on Pupitar, Fearow take to the sky!" There was very little delay from both pokemon. Fearow was already nice and warm from practicing his accessions and dives so when Ken issued the order he shot up immediately. It felt a little strange looking down across the field and seeing Crenu there, but they hadn't known each other very long anyway so Fearow felt no real issues here. Hitmonlee on the other hand was more than happy to attack. Not because he had anything against Crenu really, but more with Pupitar. The kicking Pokemon was already in action when Kenneth called for the attack, jumping at Pupitar hard as be brought his foot around in a whipping motion for a rock shattering kick.

Pupitar stared right back at Hitmonlee, and if he could smirk he would have as he eyed the pokemon with a look of uninterest. Pupitar never thoguht much of Hitmonlee and didn't still. Clearly Crenu thought this as well which is why he traded him away for that Swinub. A Swinub with serious guts he had to admit. "Tch, predictable." Crenu said with a bored expression, watching as Hitmonlee rushed in for his attack. Was Ken really going to be so direct for this battle? Using Hitmonlee, clearly taking advantage of types here. Or maybe he thought Crenu would have some sort of pause when facing his former pokemon. If so then Ken was wasting his time with that tactic. "Pupitar Brick Break. Froslass Double Team." The tip horns of Pupitar's head began to glow as he shot himself directly at Hitmonlee's kick, pushing hard against the Fighting type's muscle. And though it was a hard hit indeed, Pupitar was able to force it back and avoid damage. Froslass was glad to be on the defensive, witnessing the power battle between Hitmonlee and Pupitar. She knew she could never compete when it came to power of that level, so running and hiding seemed like a good idea. The big golden bird in the sky was intimidating, but the Snow Land Pokemon quickly threw up four duplicates of herself, all of them floating around aimlessly as she did the same. For now at least it seemed that she avoid actual fighting.

++++++++++++++++++

Jason continued to sit there, waiting. There was no bite on his line, no pokemon taking the bait and trying to get away with the lure. He was starting to see why all these Fishermen were looking so disappointed. The pokemon simply weren't biting today it seemed. Fed up with waiting Jason placed the fishing rod in the holder that came with the chair and walked over to the railing and leaned out, careful to have his feet wrapped around the bottom of the railing and not leaning out to far. "Oi, Fishy pokemon! Come on out already!" He shouted as he shook his fists at the clear water's surface. A few of the fishermen laughed at this, such childishness, but Jason didn't care. Reaching into his pocket he found a small worthless coin, tossing it into the water as if this would hurt the sea and the pokemon in it for not giving him a bite. Of course nothing happened, as if it would, and Jason's feet touched the deck once more, turning to go back to his chair. But before he could even take one step he felt a small hard object hit his head and bounce to the floor. "Ouch!" He exclaimed as he spun around to see the very coin he just tossed into the water at his feet. Rushing over to the railing he saw there a small blue pokemon popping it's head out of the water and looking at him. Of course the first thing he did was reach for his pokedex and scan the pokemon, but the dex was at a loss here and was unable to identify this pokemon. "Eh!? Not in the system eh? Well then my little friend, just what the heck are you? Some kinda...fin having fish thing?" Boy that must have sounded real clever. The small blue pokemon, keeping pace with the ship as it looked at Jason, just sorta laughed at him and before you knew it it fired a few bubbles at the boy which exploded near his face and caused Jason to fall back. This was of course funny to the Fishermen who couldn't believe his fit of impatience payed off in a way, and of course it was funny to the pokemon. Jason was not so amused however, well maybe a little, and looked up at Zeus. "I'll show him! Zeus Thundershock the little squirt!" Zeus had no choice but to do as he was told, even though it was Jason's own fault, and hovered over the railing as he shot a current of electricity at the little pokemon who received a terrible shock as the electricity ran through it's body and through the water around him. If anything that made the shock even worse, and the pokemon sank below the surface. Jason crept over to the railing and looked over curiously. "...did ya get it? Think that was a bit much....oops." But the small pokemon was not out yet. Now miffed with Zeus and Jason it retaliated, and as they looked over the railing the pokemon suddenly jumped out of the water, making a big splash as it soared through the air and tackled Magnemite back onto the deck. The little pokemon flopped about for a moment before getting comfortable, floating up and around similar to Zeus in a way as it looked at the two.

Jason could only smile looking at this unkown pokemon, definitely not one he'd ever seen before, or even close. But then again, other than Hoenn Pokemon Jason really didn't know any of them so whatever this cute blue pokemon resembled, he wasn't going to be able to identify it just yet. f it wasn't in the Dex, then it had to be from Sinnoh right? Jason was getting excited, he had to know what this pokemon was! And the only way to be able to take this pokemon along for further analysis was to capture it. The rest of the Fishermen watched, wondering if this young lad would be able to seal the deal now that he'd 'landed' a pokemon. "Alright Zeus, let's hit it with Supersonic!" Zeus looked directly at the little blue pokemon as the two magnets on his body started to vibrate at a peculiar frequency, letting out low pulses of sound waves that would scramble anyone's brain. The little blue pokemon however seemed to get joy out of this, as if playing some sort of game now rather than fighting a foe. Unafraid of the sound attack coming towards it the pokemon looked at Zeus with those adorable eyes as it's antenna started vibrating strangely as well, letting out pulses of sound just like Zeus, the sound waves disrupting one another and canceling out the attacks altogether. "W-what!? Oh no way, you're going down fish! Sonicboom!" Zeus was wondering why he wasn't being instructed to use his electric type move, perhaps Jason simply wished to train his other attacks today, or was saving that for the finish. But regardless he began circling his opponent, letting lose a sonic shock wave at the wild fish, hitting his mark well.

The sand was completely clear now. Star's glow wasn't very intense just yet, and by the looks of the Gible, that meant she was winning...slightly. As the Gible hacked and coughed, Kya's face showed indecision.

"Gina, do you think you can still battle?" The Gible suddenly stood straight, and spun towards her trainer. She growled in affirmation. Kya giggled, and clapped her hands together. "I knew you had it in you. Dragon Rage!"

'Ack! Not that move again!' Sam had think fast as the flames were already being summoned. "Star use Water Gun! Douse the flames!" Star nodded, but sat there and waited. As the flames started to encircle her, Sam opened her mouth to begin yelling at Star for apparently wanting to be attacked, but then Star opened her mouth wide. She threw her head back towards the sky, and expelled a large jet of water that broke up into a million sparkling droplets that fell towards the earth. As each hit the flames in a circle around her, the flames got progressively smaller and smaller, until they disappeared completely. Both trainers just stood watching.

"Wow...that was beautiful!" Kya exclaimed, her amazement evident in her voice. Sam was just as amazed, but she was silent as she replayed the event in her head. It had been beautiful, each droplet like a tiny diamond, falling in a pattern that resembled a weeping willow, then melding with the blue flames...Kya had been saying something. Sam snapped her head back to reality, ashamed. If Kya had been a normal person, she could have attacked Sam's Marshtomp without consequence.

"I'm sorry Kya, what did you say?"

"I said, maybe you should take her to contests!"

"Contests? What are those?"

"Well, it's where people show off their pokemon! They dress them up, they have them perform....stuff like that!"

"Um...Okay? Maybe..." Sam didn't like the sound of contests at all, but she didn't want to offend Kya. "Let's get on with our battle, okay?" Kya nodded, smiling hugely.

"Gina, use Take Down!" Sam raised an eyebrow. If that attack hit, it would probably take alot of Star's health, if not knock her out. But then again, the recoil could take Gina out as well. It seemed Kya was trying to force a draw for this round.

"Star, jump out of the way, and use Mud Shot again!" The Gible suddenly sprinted forward on a crash course for Star, both Pokemon glowing blue. Star waited until the last second to jump over the Gible. Unfortunately she miscalculated, and her legs clipped the Gible's fin, sending her spiraling out of control towards the ground. Apparently this counted as a hit, because the Gible suddenly gasped with recoil damage. But it did not go down yet. Star struggled to her feet, still intent on blasting the Gible with mud. But she didn't do it fast enough, as the Gible rolled out of the way. Kya and Sam both looked at each other.

"They just don't want to give up do they? Gina, Sand Tomb!"
===================

Eztli watched the strange pokemon for awhile. As she stood watching, she felt cold, and she felt something p***k her skin. She looked at the ground.

'Hail? Why was it hailing here, so close to the coast?' Eztli had never seen hail in person, but she had studied enough meteorology to recognize it. Eztli looked to the snow-capped tree. It must be causing the strange weather. She studied it again. So it causes hailstorms...which means Ice-type, and it used Bullet Seed...so maybe Grass-type? That was banking on alot since she knew Bullet Seed could be learned by many different pokemon, but the pokemon really did look like a tree, so maybe she wasn't far off. If it was Grass and Ice type, that meant Xipil had a huge advantage being a Fire type. But still...something was nagging at Eztli. A Sinnoh pokemon? In Kanto? What were the odds? This pokemon had to have a trainer. But who? From what she had heard, the first boat to Sinnoh had left just this morning. How had the trainer gotten here? Eztli snapped her attention back to the battle in progress. It appeared that Xipil had just used Smokescreen, and the unknown pokemon was now stumbling about, making little coughing sounds.

"Snoooo!" it shrieked, and then Eztli heard a beautiful whistling noise, a melodious tune that filled the small clearing. Xipil stopped jumping around, and suddenly laid down on the ground, and fell asleep.

"Xipil! Hey wait a minute! Xipil, wake up!" The tree pokemon suddenly blew a gust of wind filled with ice shards towards Xipil. It engulfed Xipil's sleeping form, the crystals sticking to her body and not melting, the flames she exhaled with each breath getting smaller. Xipil shivered. She never shivered. Eztli bit her lip. Obviously she didn't know how to handle Ice-types. "Xipil, wake up! I need you to use Ember!" But Xipil slept peacefully on. The new pokemon now conjured up ethereal leaves with razor sharp edges, then flung them at Xipil. Eztli recognized that one easily as Razor Leaf. Xipil flinched in her sleep, but still did not wake up.

"Sno...VER!" The unknown pokemon laughed happily, and covered it's face with it's arms.

'Oh dear...Well at least I have one thing on my side: Xipil resists both these types of moves.'

Jason grinned as he watched the Sonicboom hit it's mark and the little blue pokemon sorta tumbled back in the air before coming to rest near the rail. This would have been a perfect chance to escape, but the pokemon was having fun here and really wanted to teach this metal sphere guy a lesson. The pokemon opened it's little smiling mouth and unleashed a barrage of bubbles at Zeus as it moved in closer and closer. Zeus dipped down closer to the deck of the ship and dodged some of the bubbles, but was caught by the majority as the pokemon adjusted it's aim when it came in closer. Though the bubbles stung the steel pokemon's body Zeus remained mostly unhindered and battle ready. The blue pokemon however wasn't in such good shape, and Jason knew this. "Alright Zeus, bring this one home with Thundershock!" It was as he had predicted, and the electrical current was already gathering around Zeus's magnets shooting off sparks as they gathered their charge. The small blue pokemon knew this was bad for it and tried to turn tail to hop back into the ocean, but Zeus unleashed his mighty attack and shocked the poor thing into oblivion. It looked to be a very effective attack and the pokemon fell over onto it's back, eyes dazed as a bit of smoke rose from it's body. "Ouch, sorry buddy. But no way was I gonna let you get away from me before I could do some proper studying." And with that Jason reached into his bag and pulled out his new Net Ball, seeign as this was as good an opportunity as any. Throwing it at the downed pokemon he watched as the capture beam jumped out of the ball, the light resembling a net as it wrapped aroudn the pokemon and pulled it into the ball. Jason watched with great anticipation, hoping that the special ball would do the trick and keep his catch inside it.

"Double Team? No no that won't do. Hitmonlee use Double kick on Froslass. Doesn't matter which one you hit." Hitmonlee looked at Kenneth confused, he knew well his attack wouldn't even scratch a that icy ghost, but Ken just nodded and so he obeyed. Hitmonlee thrust his leg into one of the floating bodies, causing it to disappear instantly, then swung his leg aroudn for a second kick on the next closest one. This one also vanished, leaving only three Snow Land pokemon moving about. "There we go, not it's a lot easier now isn't it?" He said with a smile looking up at Fearow who was still way up high.

Crenu watched as Hitmonlee attacked Froslass uselessly, though it didn't take long for him to realize what Ken had planned. "Not bad Ken, but it's still a one in three chance that you'll hit the real one. And you've left Hitmonlee completely open to a Rock Slide." It sounded more like an opinionated statement rather than an order, but Pupitar got the message. Eyes aglow a large chunk of earth rose up from the ground around pupitar, breaking up into smaller pieces and raining down on top of Hitmonlee.

Ken watched, knowing full well that Hitmonlee was open now. But Froslass could have attacked as well, yet Crenu had her continued to hold out on the defensive for some reason. He was fully expecting to have a two pronged attack on Hitmonlee, this was a bit unexpected but it was alright. Hitmonlee was still recovering from using Double Kick, there was no time to get out of the way and he was pummeled by solid rocks from above. The attack was harsh and Hitmonlee was hurt, but he was still in fighting shape. Fearow who watched all this was glad he was up high away from the rocks, and now was his time to strike. Without another moments notice he dove down with lightning speed, kicking up lots of dust as he swooped down close to the ground and tore through one of the three Froslass on the field, but hit nothing. "Oh shoot, aren't you lucky Shiro." ken said smiling.

"Perhaps." He said simply, eying Hitmonlee as he stood, surely he was pretty mad now. Surge may not have gotten angry and messed up to easily, but Hitmonlee was to hot headed to avoid that kind of problem. But now wasn't the time to dwell on that part of the strategy, as Froslass had to play her role now. "Quickly Froslass, Disable on Fearow." This is what he had been counting on from the beginning, weather Froslass was hit or not. She was a little shaken, Fearow had swooped in so close she could almost feel his wings as he zoomed by her and hit her copy. It was frightening, but this wasn't the time to get caught up with nerves. This attack was fun for her to use, despite her fright Froslass loved playing aroudn and aggravating people from behind the scenes. It was because of that very nature that she picked on Poliwhirl in the first place and met up with Crenu, but before then she loved hiding in the bushes and using Disable on trainer's pokemon while they practiced. It was so funny to watched their reactions when they couldn't use that move they were trying to perfect all of a sudden, at a loss for the cause. Froslass's eyes gave off an eerie shade of blue as she gazed upon Fearow, shooting out an aura that enveloped the Beak Pokemon and seeped into his body. It affected his mind and his body, rending him unable to even consider using Fly again. "Very good Froslass. Can't have him soaring up and around like out of reach, can we?"

Nero smiled at the connection the duo had. Nero knew that he'd have such a connection with Clooney, but it seemed a long way off... Especially since the catscratch pokémon was gnawing at Nero's ankle, batting and swatting at his shoelaces and such.. "Well... I'm not really sure how I'm gonna do this, but I got this idea a few weeks ago... I wanted to battle all my favorite Gym Leaders. I watch the Televised Gym Battles. Pokémon Battle League is my favorite show.. Heh. I was watching the battle between Crasher and Ash Ketchum, and got to thinking. That guy's all the way around the world, battling it out with Gym Leaders. I want to do that, too. I compiled a list of Gym Trainers I wanna battle. Your dad is number 7." He laughed, and sipped some more soda. "So... I wonder if you could show me how it's done? I don't really have very much experience with the whole battling thing. I need to train. ALOT." Nero said, wincing, because Clooney bit his ankle quite hard this time around.

"Please, tutor me, Mia-sensei!"

Already Eris' smokescreen was slowly starting to lift, and both Riza and Jaden could make out the rough outlines of their Pokemon mired among the haze. Riza was very glad to see that both her Pokemon were still standing and for the most part were untouched, as she knew her brother's Pokemon were very, very strong compared to hers. 'I can't keep thinking like that though,' she thought to herself. 'My Pokemon may be young and inexperienced, but they're mine and I know that someday they'll be strong, no, stronger than his!' She looked back at her Cyndaquil and Corphish, knowing that she had to trust in herself as well as them if she were to make a great coordinator someday. "Okay guys, let's keep this up! Eris, give Heracross a taste of your Ember! And Diemia, use Vicegrip on Flareon! Show them how tough we really are!" Okay, so they weren't that tough, but Riza hoped it would help the two of her Pokemon to feel better about themselves. Eris let out a slight growl, the flames on her back igniting as she opened her mouth and spewed hot embers towards Jaden's Heracross. The bug could still feel the effects of the previous Extrasensory, but he had enough wits about him to see it coming and he hopped up, using his wings to keep himself airborne for a while to avoid the fiery attack. Diemia, meanwhile was now dealing with the face full of sand she had just received, and she quickly reached out with her claws to try and get a hold of the sneaky Flareon, but the fox easily danced out of her reach.

'Good, looks like she's getting into this,' Jaden thought, watching fondly as his Flareon avoided getting snagged by Diemia's pincers. He couldn't help but remember how before evolving it with a fire stone how he had been such a timid Eevee, freezing up in battle and hardly able to comply with orders. Now Flareon was feisty and eager for battle, and Jaden knew that the fire stone had been the right choice. "Go in for a bite attack," he called out. The fiery Pokemon moved in quickly, bearing his teeth. He jumped at the Corphish, managing to bite on to one of Diemia's claws. Luckily for Diemia this was a well armored spot otherwise it probably would have hurt a lot more. Diemia tried her best to shake off the offending fire-type, but Flareon held on tightly.

Eris, meanwhile was still dealing with the Heracross, and knowing that she had managed to hurt it last time was eager to keep it up this turn. She watched as it flew up and over her, missing being scorched by her ember and the Cyndaquil spun around, shooting more flames at the big bug. She wasn't sure why they were going up against such tough Pokemon but she would do her best.

"Heracross, behind you," Jaden said quickly, and Heracross looked over his shoulder in time to see the little fire mouse preparing to try and burn him again. That wasn't going to happen as the beetle flew forward, the ember coming nowhere near him this time as well. "Go in for a Horn attack," the older brother went on. Nodding, the beetle turned in the air and took aim at the Cyndaquil, which was easy. Even in the remaining smoke he could see the flames on her back and he aimed carefully as he began his descent. Eris didn't see it coming and was hit by the horn head on, and it really hurt even though Heracross was not using his full power. The small Pokemon tumbled back, her flames going out instantly as she started to cry loudly. She didn't want to do this anymore!

Katie turned back to the desk as the nurse handed her back her three pokeballs plus Kord, and once again the young Elekid was happy to hop up onto her shoulder. She turned to head out, but instead decided to get herself an iced tea from the vending machine, and in doing so she couldn't help but hear the green haired boy raving about gym leaders and tv shows and such. She curiously looked over her shoulder at the girl as the boy had mentioned her dad and battling and number seven, and now that she spotted the clips in her hair, the information clicked in Katie's mind.

'I had heard that Crasher Wake had a daughter, and that must be her,' the orange haired girl thought, looking at the Floatzel once more. 'Interesting, I never thought I'd see her way out here in Jubilife, while Pastoria is so far away.' Gym leader's daughter or not, Katie wasn't overly interested in celebrities (seeing as her mother, a very famous fashion designer) was one of them.

She offered some of the iced tea to the Elekid and he happily took the bottle and gulped it down, managing to spill the tawny liquid down his chin. Katie rolled her eyes and sat the small electric-type down on one of the chairs and wiped him off with the handkerchief she kept in her pocket. He was mostly a baby, after all, so it wasn't overly surprising. Now that she had cleaned Kord up a bit she put him back inside his pokeball and carefully adjusted her bag before heading back outside the pokecenter.

Location: Jubilife, the city of joy, jubilation and life. Everywhere there were people bustling, but not in an unpleasant rush; no, they were high-stepping folk, eyes bright and cast high, smiles cast towards anyone willing to receive them. And it was beautiful in a modern way, the shining buildings of glass and metal exuding a clean boldness.

But Mary-Anne couldn't help but shiver. There was something chilly in the meticulousness of the technologically sharp city, something uninviting about its geometrical symmetry and its ticky tacky people who were all the same, all plastic families and businessmen and women in Anne Klein suits and Hugo Boss satin shirts. Their stranger-bound smiles were not as welcoming as they seemed, but instead possessed a sort of cool civility that Mary-Anne found uncomfortable. Jun returned their cool smiles with an equally off-handed lightness, the man quite accustomed to the ways of middle-class/rich people, and Neal smirked savagely at them all much to the discomfort of a good majority of the people who passed by. But even then, they allowed themselves to appear unsettled for a mere millisecond before regaining their synthetic composure.

Mary-Anne turned instinctively to Neal for some shelter from this cold front, but found that the man had entirely disappeared.

"Where's Neal?"
Mary-Anne asked.

"Neal?" Jun furrowed his brow. He glanced sharply at Mary-Anne then frowned. "Nevermind that. Oh all that is holy and Louis Vuitton, you look emaciated! I like my models to have a little more substance on them than a /cadaver/," he said abruptly, taking her by the wrist and dragging her along to a nearby French eatery.

There she poked at her food while Jun sipped on some coffee and sketched some new designs for the fall, with Mary-Anne as his focus. She had a wonderful frame, really, though he would prefer if she filled it out a little -- Jun was not a fan of the anorexic model trend going around. But in Mary-Anne's case, it did give her an almost ethereal, frail appearance in which cloths and silks hung off beautifully.

"/Eat/, please," Jun said, glancing up briefly through his thick-rimmed glasses before turning back to his work.

"I can't taste it," M.A. sighed. "I don't mean to complain, but... I don't know. The point, the point."

"Their creme brulee quite scrumptious, would you like mine? You know, at times, Mary-Anne... You just seem so bipol-"

"I'm baaack," Neal suddenly cried, circling his lank arms around Mary-Anne's neck, nearly choking her. "What, Jun? You want me now, of all places? How inappropriate of you," he smirked audaciously, leaning across the table -- only Jun's deft movements prevented his coffee from spilling all over his favorite pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans -- and lightly licking his nose.

"/Excuse/ me, can you please not?" Jun sighed, wiping his face with a folded napkin. "/So/ crude! Well, I'm going to mail off these designs then take my /very valued/ appointment at the goddess Keora's salon, and I do not want /you/ --" he said, eyes slitting sharply, "acting uncivilized about me. I have a mounting reputation to keep! Go to this hotel and wait for me, I'll be back. And /do/ behave," he added tentatively at the end.

Neal cackled, sidling up to Jun who did not slip away or resist as the former kissed the side of his mouth. Jun hesitated for a moment, reciprocated the affection with a gentle nibble, then disappeared with neither a smile nor a frown on his face. But he did pay the bill.

"Aren't you his little whore," Neal smiled maliciously at Mary-Anne.

She shook her head vehemently, then looked down at her plate. The food's presentation was quite neat, the food itself hardly touched. "Tasteless. And I'm his model."

"1) Interchangeable. 2) Life's for living, not three meals a day. Let's go, shall we, and have some fun?" Neal grinned wildly, Mary-Anne caught up in the madness in his eyes, the madness that was reflected in hers, the four orbs the same shade of swirling aqua.

And they were off, Diego and Daemyn the only present Pokemon, the former still looking for his master in the crowds of people. But no, his Master would not be in this immaculate, materialistic city. Hopefully Mary-Anne wouldn't spend much time here... But somehow the Smeargle sensed that she was, that the split of interests would become too great soon, and that they would need to go their separate ways. The Mary-Anne of three weeks ago would have cared, yes, but now she was so busy fluctuating between lifeless and Neal that Diego doubted that she had any energy to spare for anyone else. And as interesting as the wreck was, he didn't really care, honestly. He almost pitied her other Pokemon, the ones who were so reliant on her love but had not, of late, found more than a words in their direction. Daemyn was the greatest fool of all, plodding along silently at her feet, watching with worried eyes as she ran off on her own. In his eyes he only saw M.A. Diego was the only one who saw Neal in his fearsome wholeness, Neal who was carnivorous desire and human cunning in one. Destructive as a fire, yes, but not inherently evil. Only natural in the most unsettling manner. It made for good paintings.

"Number seven? Well at least you'll have time to train and your Pokemon will be tough as nails by then! Papa's tough, you know," she said laughing, having slipped into calling her father "papa" again. She'd meant to call him "dad" when talking to other people, it seemed more professional, but the home-grown girl couldn't help but continue to use to affectionate term. She was about to say something else, maybe tell a harrowing tale of one of his battles or something, was she was quickly interrupted by Nero's sudden exclamation.

"Woah, woah, woah, woah!" Mia laughed, waving her hands back and forth in front of her. "I'm nowhere near as good as papa. I mean I don't even have any badges yet!" She gave another hearty chuckle. One would think that she'd be use to this being a mini-celebrity or something since she was the daughter of one if Sinnoh's Gym Leaders. But she'd never gotten this type of attention before. "I can't really 'teach' (she made air quotes here) you anything, but a battle I can do," she replied.

And well, if they were going to battle it'd have to be outside. She wouldn't want to ruin the lovely Pokemon Center after all. Literally charging outside, Mia loved the outdoors like no other girl did, she encountered a rather accidental figure ahead of her. "Gaaaaaah!" she screeched, trying to stop in her tracks, but to no avail. "Sorry!" she wailed as she came into contact with the girl ahead of her, the two tumbling to the ground. The girl had lovely long orange hair, tied tight into two pigtails. She was also sporting a lovely black, white, and deep pink dress and boots. Mia felt so bad having knocked her to the ground, she could just feel that the girl would be angry, and not just about being thrown to the floor but about the outfit as well. Most girls got really angry when their clothes got dirty, something Mia never really understood, but so was the mind of a young lady from Pastoria who was so often clad in mud.

Rhyme, having been the poor victim (at least in her eyes) this this whole situation sighed, throwing her face into her paw. Her master could be such a stupid klutz at times, how she ever get stuck with someone so clumsy she'd never know. Plodding along next to the unfortunate orange haired girl, she held out her hand to help her up. Though Rhyme wasn't very big she was still curious enough to help others, she gave a sympathetic bark as if she was saying, "I'm sorry my master's such an idiot, here, let me help you up."

Mitsu curled up, her back against the walls of the massive yacht-like boat. The boat ride so far was almost like a luxury cruise, yet she hadn't touched a morsel of their undoubtedly five star cuisine, nor had she climbed the rock wall (assuming there was one somewhere on this boat), strolled about the interior of the ship with attentive eyes, or even tried her hand at the battle arena on the lower levels. She hugged her knees close together, there was no one there to see her, though she could see everyone else.

They were all huddled together, forming a semicircle around a pole. They were watching a green creature, a Treecko Mitsu guessed, and a Wingull fight at the very tip. "What if you fall Treecko?" she muttered watching the battle unfold. It was a prideful showoff, it had ambition, it had personality. She smiled, "Now where's your trainer?"

Turning her attention away from the crowd she stared into the open seas. It couldn't last that long, she was surprised it had even last a few days. She buried her face into her arms which were pressed against her knees. While everyone else had suffered from their emotions she'd simply blocked her out. And of course, now they were beginning to overflow. She wanted to know what had happened to Mike. She missed him and she wanted him back, the old him. She wanted everything to be the way it was before, when they were all so much more innocent.

She closed her eyes, her body wracked with pain. The attack was sudden. Glowing eerily red, and then fading, she was left weakened. There was nothing more in the world she wanted than to sleep, to fall asleep and never wake up. She huddled closer to herself. Comfort. Comfort was something she wanted from her friends right now, but at the same time she couldn't have felt more alone. Opening her palms to her face, she looked at them with disgust. She wasn't even like her friends, she wasn't even human.

Again Kasiya could only squeak as she watched her dear Marshtomp undergo an incredible transformation, and once the light had faded, little Levi was now a fully-grown, and very tough-looking Swampert. In actuality the Cradily wasn't that small in comparison to Rosemary and Leviathan, but the fact that it was still frozen solid didn't make it much of a threat at the moment. Kasiya glanced down at her PokeDex, finally managing to get to Rosemary's entry, feeling as though her heart would burst from the pride she felt. "Okay, let's end this," she said, nodding quickly. It was safe to say that having two fully-evolved Pokemon at her command was a very good confidence booster. "Rosemary, Petal Dance! And Levi, use Take Down!" The two Pokemon were quick to comply with their orders. Rosemary stepped forward, the beautiful petals around her neck rustling gently in the sea breeze before a flurry of identical petals stormed up around her, and the Octillery could only latch itself to the floor and hang on for dear life as it was blasted by the attack. To add insult to injury, moments after the Petal Dance died down Levi was there, her shoulder lowered as she delivered a powerful tackle to the already ailing Octillery.

Needless to say, the poor Pokemon was down for the count, and his trainer could only recall him, and chuckle light-heartedly. Riley had suspected that the Bayleef had been ready to evolve, but definitely not the Marshtomp. He looked to his frozen Cradily and sighed, recalling it a moment later as well. "I hope you don't think I'm chickening out," he said, running a hand through his hair, "it's just that I don't think it's wise to let my frozen Pokemon take an unnecessary pounding."

Kasiya, though eager to see what Levi and Rosemary were capable of, had to agree. She would probably have done the same thing had she been in his shoes. "It's okay, I understand," she said, looking to her two Pokemon as they had already backed off. Now that the adrenaline of battle was starting to wear off they were both looking a bit less amped up than before, but nevertheless Kasiya ran over to congratulate the both of them. She threw her arms around Rosemary's neck, laughing happily as the Meganium lifted her off the ground, and she couldn't notice just how lovely the Pokemon smelled now. She let out a surprised squeal as Levi grabbed her from behind and hoisted her up as well, and Kasiya marveled at the Swampert's new-found strength. "You guys are the best," she said, hugging Levi, and Rosemary once more. Though the battle had ended abruptly and without a real conclusion, she still felt as though she had come out of it victorious.

Jaeshan shifted uneasily on his feet as he watched the hole in which Mightyena disappeared. He hadn't had much of a chance to work with this new move, as he had taught it to Mightyena (as well as Iron Tail) and then sent him to stay with Professor Birch. But, judging by the way the canine burst through the earth, throwing the Ursaring off kilter and attacking gave Jaeshan the impression that Mightyena had been doing some training on his own. The attack had actually knocked the mighty bear to the ground, and its bulk made it slow to rise again. "Crunch attack," Jaeshan said, not wanting to miss an opportunity. Mightyena acted quickly once more, rushing forward. The canine's fangs suddenly started to crackle with electricity, and when he bit into his opponent, the electricity was transferred to the Ursaring, making for one shocking bite. Jaeshan scratched his chin, not at all sure what had just happened. Okay, that's new, he thought, though he was sure that Mightyena had a bit of a spring in his step after that one.

"Oh wow, your Mightyena knows how to use Thunder Fang! That's so cool!" Eliza called over to Jaeshan, obviously impressed. However, she seemed less so when a wave of electricity coursed over her Ursaring, rendering him unable to move - Paralysis. "Come on, big guy! Get up, you can do it!" The bear grunted, but his legs wouldn't budge. He glared at Mightyena, hating the fact that he felt so helpless.

Cynthia stood up once she was sure that Hera was in satisfactory condition, carefully rearranging the medicines and such in her bag and oblivious to the conversation carrying on inside Dante's head, though she looked at him when she heard him speak, her expression one of confusion. "They like me?" she repeated. "Who is they?" She eyed the rainbow-coloured feather that he wore around his neck, only now really getting a good look at it. She recognized it immediately now, though she could only guess as to how this young boy would have managed to get his hands on a feather belonging to the legendary Pokemon, Ho-oh.

Mitsu sighed loudly, having worn herself out unknowingly. She had only had such an episode a few times before, though they seemed to be occurring more frequently and recently too. Maybe it was because of the emotional overload, perhaps that was the trigger. Or maybe the attacks triggered the sudden emotional change. It was such a mystery, even to her. However, one thing was certain, the attacks were leaving her exhausted and unusually sleepy. It was almost the same as her healing powers, with the exception that they happened out of thin air and were more uncontrollable. They were short, quick bursts of pain, accompanied by a red aura. She felt like they sucked the life right out of her.

Huddling to herself again, tears stopped, she thought. There was only one person who could help her understand any of this, but it was risky and she wasn't even sure if he could help. Perhaps all the files were gone, destroyed on the same day she'd caused the fire. Hahah! What fire? There was no fire, she was daydreaming again. "It's not running away if I keep thinking about it," she laughed, wiping her face with the palm of he hand, hoping she looked presentable. The past wasn't there if she didn't acknowledge it!

She stretched her legs out, standing up. Not much had happened and she'd gone fairly unnoticed, which was perfect. Mitsu sighed, feeling the energy slowly seeping back into her body healing the aches and pains. "Maybe there's someone in Sinnoh who could help me," she mused. Granted she knew nothing about the land she was heading for, the only information she had was given to her in the form of a few Pokemon and new attacks. That was the beauty in it, the unknown was both scary and beautiful. But reality often ruined the illusion. Nothing in life was free for the taking, no amount of "hard work" or what other petty little things you wanted to believe in would guarantee that your goals will be met. Only the naive and foolish believed that. You needed more than hope and hard work, you needed luck, you needed the dice to be tossed in your favor. It was a combination of the two, why else are they're so few truly successful people in the world?

Mitsu smiled bitterly out into the open sea. The world was a cruel place, that's why you cling onto the small glimmers in life like your Pokemon, your friends, your silly dreams. You get what good you can and you clasp it tightly in your hands and never let it escape. Mitsu chuckled. She really needed to be around some people to take her mind off of things, to distract her, to keep her focused on the "think positively" route. It wouldn't be hard once she was off this ship and in Sinnoh. She'd be occupied, she'd have a purpose once she was on dry land. In a sense the voyage to Sinnoh was like a cleansing. She'd give up the hopeless ideals and ineffective moping and instead focus on her training. She'd promised herself that and she was intent on keeping that promise.

She grinned wildly, laughing into the wind. It'd be a challenge, to knock back the bad emotions and tears, but she'd do it! She was determined to take on the world, and if she was one of the unluckies, then let the world swallow her whole! She wasn't going down without a fight!
