Al wiped his mouth of the dripping crimson blood with the sleeve of his right arm,his left still suspending a now lifeless victim, their neck not only bleeding but ripped open and blood still trickling down onto Al's hand.
They,Al and the former mourner for some departed relative, were hidden behind one of the mauselims belonging to an obviously wealthy family. Angels and crosses were stick on the roof and walls, plaques and family names engraved at their feet as well as various dead flowers.

Without a second thought Al tossed the body into the bush, nature would take care of the rest and at least this man was near someone he may have loved. His sense too clogged with the smell of drying blood and his victims screams it wasnt a wonder he was so surprised to see the form of Kohaku only five or so metres away.

Even though Al had noticed Kohaku's presence, she hadn't even seen him. Her eyes were still closed, though her mind was far from silent. She was thinking about her brother.. Not Fang or Artemis.. But the one from her childhood. The one that everyone else had done their best to forget about. She opened her eyes and hugged her knees to her chest, her head still laying on the tombstone like it was someone she loved. She closed her eyes tightly and hugged her legs tighter, trying to keep herself from crying.

Al adjusted his jacket only slightly as he approached Kohaku, hand still bloody and teeth stil slightly crimson. If anyone where to look in they might think he was a killer coming to attack kohaku.

He watched her wrap her arms around herself in what could be assumed was a comforting hug, her head laying against the tombestone in a loving way.
He took a step backward and into the trees, heel hitting against the head of his previous victim. But he wasn't doing this to hide,Kohaku looked as if she needed a moment alone so instead he sat cross legged, licking at the blood smeared across his arm for the while. He could talk to her sooner than later.

After a little while, Kohaku finally let go of her legs, assured that she wasn't going to cry now. She sighed softly and looked back at the tombstone, her eyes still looking like she was in deep thought. She was the only one who made herself think about him. She didn't want to forget his last words to her. They still rang in her like a bell. That one night when he went insane and disappeared. All the words of wisdom he had said to all of them, all the hope he had given them as a child.. It seemed so distant from them now. After a few years of his disappearence, everyone assumed the worst had happened and even made him a tombstone. It was a little sad that they had all given up so quickly.. But then again she had never given up the thought that he might come back. She'd never brought flowers with her because that would say that she had finally given up and she believed he was dead too. So she'd always made an effort to come here every so often in the small hope that she might see him staring at the tombstone and laughing at how easily they had given up.

After a few minutes it became more apparent kohaku wasn't about to burst into tears or start to cry,her release of her own legs was almost a cure he could come foreward. His arms still had smudges of red on it but enough so hopefully he wouldn't be pin pointed as at the scene on any accidents.

His footsteps were soft as somehoe he even muffled the sound of his feet crunching on the leaves underfoot,he was like a ghost among this yard of the dead. No noise and almost as pale as any real one.
his first thought was to pull kohaku in,but his arm was unwashes, and despite his primitive attempt to clean it,it still smelt of stale drying blood.

He settled with standing not far behind her, close enough that his voice could reach but far away enough so that she still haad her own space.
"I wouldn't pick you to be in such a dismall place."
His voice was expressionless. Was anyone really the type to be in a cemetery? Other than the few satanistic cults and suicidals that felt compelled to kill something here there was no one that ever felt good amongst the complete dead.

Kohaku's head immediately perked up at the sound of someones voice. Thinking that it might've been who she had been thinking about just seconds ago, she quickly turned her head around to see who it was and realized that it was Al. She blinked for a few moments and sighed, giving him a sort of sad smile. No one ever pictured her anything more than happy, it seemed. She turned around and stared up at him, wondering how long he had been here and exactly why he was here.

Kohaku's eyes portrayed that of someone whose expectations had just been built up only to be let down and he had the feeling that she had hoped that he was going to someone very diffrent. Her smile looked forced and cheap, she didn't have to smile on his account.
his features took on a slightly tighter and sharper appearance subconciously.

"You looked deep in thought. Pray tell who sleeps beneath our feet in eternal slumber?"
It was a weird sentence to hear himself say,it didn't fit with his proper charactor yet it felt familiar somehow. His brain worked for a minutes than clicked. It seemed it he couldn't help himself around her, even if it was just a grave with a fake name upon it. It was the last place those feet had tread.

Kohaku felt a little bad for possibly making him think that she didn't want to see him. That was far beyond the truth. She stood up and walked over to him, once again taking out her little notebook and scribbling something down on it. She felt a little pathetic because of it. Knowing that it was the only way she could actually communicate her thoughts and feelings.. But it would have to do. With a small sigh, she handed it to him. It read "It's supposed to be the grave of my brother... But he's not dead. He just disappeared 13 years ago." She felt dumb for writing it since most people would assume that a child so young disappearing for so long would most definitely mean death. At least, thats what mother had thought.. And Fang... And Artemis... She wasn't sure why she didn't believe it, though. Maybe because if she admitted to herself that he was dead, she'd die a little more inside herself.

Al looked at the note, blinking and slightly confused.
"Just because you haven't seen someone doesn't mean they're dead. no offense but your family all seem to be of the deamon species and 13 years isn't that long when you have such a long time to live. Assuming that he was not some kind of wanted criminal."
He mummbled something under his breath before falling completely silent.

He stayed silent a moment longer before talking, looking at both Kohaku and the false grave.
"You know, that isn't the only grave here without a body underneath."
He sighed quietly and took a step back, surveying the other tombstones

Kohaku sighed and looked down at the ground. It wasn't how long he was gone that made it seem like he was dead, it was the way he left.

Kohaku blinked at the mention of the other graves and looked around at them, a little curious about which ones he was talking about.

Al watch her look around as he was,his face grew slightly sadder the more he looked, not seeing yet what he was looking for. Yet as far as he knew this was the only cemetery in the underground.
A small crumbling grave to the far south caught his attention,it looked like a small plot,it would have fit two people the most. It was in one of the poorer locations with no trees for shade or any really green looking grass.
It was out of the way and no one would notice it. It would be a key place to check.

Ignoring it for the time being though he turned back to Kohaku.
"The way you look at this grave, it's so full of emotion. you were close to him weren't you?"
He peered in to look closer at the details of the tombestone.

Kohaku gave a small smile and nod. He had been her oldest brother, and the one she looked up to the most. He had always been pointing them in the right direction and encouraging them to the best of his ability.. Even if he was just a kid. Probably the only one who kept them stable through the hard times.

She remembered how she used to cry about everything when she was a kid. And he'd always say something like "Oh stop it. Crying's not going to help anything. You have to actually try to solve your problems instead of crying about them." Though.. She supposed that she never really listened to his advice until after he was gone.. She was probably the only one who did.. After he disappeared, all the horrible and unspeakable things started happening to everyone. She shivered at the thought and forced herself to think about something else.

On the grave, the epitaph read:

Cato

1986-1992

"Knowlege can either be the road to success.. Or insanity.. Be careful where you tread.."

Al leaned over the grave,re-reading the epitah over again in his head, stopping every now again at the insanity part. So her brother had gone..insane?
"That seems such an early and young age to go insane. Was something wrong with him?"

The cemetery seemed to echo his words in an odd lapse of silence, took a few confident steps towards the headstone and ran a finger over the rough and worn stone, tracing over the words and numbers which had been worn away slightly from natural conditions and circumstances.

It was always sad one someone so young left, and to not even know he was truly dead! It made Al only think that this was placed here to try and secure closure, that if it was here it perhaps may even be true. He sighed and stood up.

"Well if your brother is indeed truly dead, wherever he may be. Let us hope he has passed on to whatever paradise he chooses, and that a gentle hand has laid a flower on his true grave for your family. That is if he truly is not among the living, and if so let he return soon with good health, both physicly and mentally."

Kohaku became a little nervous at his question and looked away from a moment. She didn't think asking what was wrong with him was a proper question for it. A better one would've been "is something wrong with your family?" Their lives seemed to have been one cruel irony after another. Like someone was sitting behind the curtains pulling all the strings and laughing at their pain. She sighed miserably and tried not to think about it anymore.

Though, his words felt kind and heartfelt. It pulled her out of the sadness that she had just fallen in. She smiled and turned her head back to him, now quite happy that he had been here.

Al smiled down at her,his words seemingly to lift her spirit enough to make her smile.
He was about to reach over and take her hand, hastily remembering how he had yet to find a tap and shoved them in his pockets,so as to hide them.
ithout thinking much about it he broke her gaze and turned away, heading in the direction of the graves he had seen before.
"I have to go see something,I'll be back"
He said, obviously determined to get to the graves.
