Mae again. Thought I was finished, huh? Well I'm not. Tough luck. You get to hear more of me.
We just finished the movie and Pry went to bed, so I'm sitting on my bed talking quietly into the mic. Yes, quietly. I can be quiet. Heck I am always quiet. But I do have to keep my voice down, because it's late and he'll be bitchy in the morning if I keep him up. Or something like that.
I just finished reading through my old diary, and I have to laugh at some of the entries. At some point in time I just stopped caring about what people thought about me and just let loose. Was around the time I started swearing too. It's funny to watch the change. I guess I used to be really nice when I was young or something. Well, not really nice, but I didn't used to talk like I do now. Sorta funny to read Pry's old stuff. You know he was scared shitless about me meeting Chibi? He thought Chibi was going to eat me or something. He worries so much, even more than he did back then. Silly, but I guess that's his way of saying his cares.
Anyways, I went through and stuck in the timeline that Pryderi finished earlier in the front of the journal. Looks nice now. Time sure has flown, huh? I've been with him for so long. Maybe we should get cake or something tomorrow to celebrate. We'll see what I feel like tomorrow. Night.

"Hey Maelon..."
The dark chocolate Sin'aeis boy looked up from his computer screen to find Pryderi gazing at him from the doorway of the bedroom. Mae did a quick facial search - no, Pryderi was not angry - before encouraging the corners of his lips up enough to make it look like he was smiling. No bad feelings between him and Pry, and he didn't want to make it seem like he was that unapproachable. Pryderi could talk to him. "Yeah?"
Pryderi looked a little relieved when Mae answered civilly, and smiled, albeit shyly, back. However, instead of just explaining his presence and leaving, the deer boy approached the bed and sat down. It was then that the Sin boy noticed that his guardian had brought a package with him. That caught his eye, and Maelon had to work hard to keep the curious expression off his face. Whatever had Pry brought? And, more importantly, was it for him? His question was answered when the package was handed to him, though before he could actually open in, Pryderi was speaking again.
"Havok and I had a little talk last night about getting you interested in things - he says you're brilliant and I should be trying to encourage you to do things - and I told him that you still liked art - I mean I think you still like art, but I haven't seen you sketching and-"
Maelon figured he must have expressed his displeasure somewhere on his face, because his guardian paused in his tirade. Damn. He hadn't meant to interrupt the deer boy - he was trying to be well behaved around his guardian - but he hated it when people rambled. So much unnecessary talking! There was a moment of silence between the two before Pryderi's smile widened a little, and he laughed softly.
"Sorry," he said, flushing a little in embarrassment. "I went rambling off, didn't I? What I was getting at was the fact that Havok and I got you a little gift. Thought you might like to try something new."
To say that the dark chocolate Sin was relieved was an understatement. He was thoroughly relieved, and a little proud, that Pryderi had managed to tell him something without rambling on like he usually did when he got nervous. At least this time, he'd realized what he was doing and stopped himself. It was progress, Mae had to admit, and it meant that Pry was doing his part to try and keep the peace.
Figured that Pryderi was finished now and he could open his gift, Maelon slowly peeled away the wrapping and tipped the box. Out onto his waiting palm slid... a camera? The Sin'aeis boy was momentarily puzzled by this strange gift, a small frown creasing his brows as he turned the gift over in his hands. A camera? He had to admit, the idea of taking pictures instead of sitting and sketching did have a certain appeal to him. He could take pictures of fast-moving things that he normally couldn't sketch, and he could sketch from photos when he got back home too. Yes, photography did sound quite interesting.
Pryderi's voice interrupted his thoughts. "I thought maybe we could get you a photo album or something when we do groceries tomorrow..." The hesitant note in his guardian's voice told Maelon that the Sin hadn't given any inclination that he'd liked his gift. So Mae smiled a little - it didn't look nice, but it was a smile - and nodded his head.
"I'd like that. It sounds okay."
Pryderi beamed back at him, and after enveloping him in a quick hug, trotted out of the room. The dark chocolate boy stared after him for a moment, before chuckling and returning to his computer. Huh. Photography. It didn't sound all that bad.
And for once, Maelon was willing to give something a chance.

Hello minions, it's Maelon. Welcome to my lair. No, I'm not kidding you. My room IS my lair. And ever since Pry got me my laptop, I can sit in here and type and I don't have to go anywhere. It's great. So much amusement. Havok gave me his email so I've been talking to him a bit. Thanked him from the camera and all that stuff... he said that it was cool, and he hoped I had fun with it. He's stressed though. I can tell 'cause his sentences are all choppy. I asked him what was up and he told me that the mini-coon is going on some sort of quest thing because of something he got from Havok. I dunno exactly what it is, but he's worried and so I didn't ask him for details. He can worry about the mini-coon. I don't mind. It's not like I'm his son or anything, and he DID send me the camera even though his mind was obviously elsewhere. Great guy, Havok. Wish I could see him again sometime, but that'll have to wait until the whole thing with the mini-coon is over.
*silence, save for the sound of typing in the background*
Sorry, I'm downloading music while I'm updating this online log. Hard to do two things at once. I'm a guy, so I'm allowed to use that excuse. Isn't it great?
*more typing noises*
Okay, there we go. Got about four or five set up now so I can go back to talking. I was just listening to my older recordings, and I realized that I haven't mentioned all my piercings. Yeah I talked for about five and a half seconds about my lip ring (which will be rings, because Pryderi promised me I could get the other side pierced for my birthday), but I haven't gone into detail about the other ones. As you know, I have my ears done seven times (three on the left ear, four on the right). There's more than there was when I was living with Chibi - which surprises me - but Pryderi doesn't seem to mind me liking piercings so much anymore. He told he I couldn't get anything... you know... THERE until I was a lot older, which was okay with me because I don't WANT anything there.
*pause*
At least not now I don't. We'll have to see when I get older.
*another pause*
Moving on. I got my navel done just before Pry and I moved into this new house, and the lip was done around that time too. Now if I can just get the other side of my lip done, everything will be peeeerfect!
*talking stops, sound of typing returns*
And... I think that's about it. Photography starts tomorrow. Be ********' ready for it.

Hey, it's Maelon. Been trying to keep this thing updated at least every other day, just to make sure that I don't let it go like I did last time. Four months was it? I dunno, but it was a long freakin' time, and I don't need to let it go like that again. Too much to remember. So much easier just to talk about a couple of days.
Anyways, I started taking pictures today. I know, I know, it's not the greatest pastime, but I had some fun doing it. It's pretty darn cool, and a hell of a lot faster than drawing. I just click and poof! Pictures. I can even delete the ones that I think are crap. It's great. Since we're on the outskirts of Barton, I had lots of wildlife and stuff to photograph. I did take some pictures of people though...
*laughs*
Sorry, just looking through the pictures again. God some of these people are funny looking. I think I'm going to enjoy taking random pictures while I'm out in Barton, or just around in the woods. It's like a touristy zone... only with new tourists everyday. It's great. I think Pry will be upset with me if I started framing pictures of the really weird people I see in Barton. Besides, I don't think you're supposed to take pictures of people without their permission or something... I dunno. Whatever.
*more chuckling*
God that one's funny.
*snorts softly*
Well, the first day of photography went really well. Loaded them all up onto the laptop and everything. It’s been great. Tomorrow will be more photography, and a skateboard around Barton if I'm lucky to get out. Catch you later!

Ability Quest! Maelon is ready for his next ability and seems to be a fan of all things poison. Or should I say, things that can poison. In order to complete his quest, he must get two new creatures capable of just that from the wild.

'Where are we going?'
"Oh, just out, why? You wanna stay home?" Mae didn't bother to look up from trying his shoes, knowing his spider was perched neatly on his back. The spider would be able to hear him there, so it wasn't like he had to turn his head and look at him. He'd been told that his body vibrated when he talked, so the arachnid always knew when to listen. Timber blinked his many faceted eyes, before crawling up onto the Sin'aeis boy's shoulder. 'No not really. I was just curious. Into the woods?'
"Mhmm..." Maelon responded, standing up and reaching for his camera and a pair of glass jars. He wanted to go out for a little walk today, curious to see what kind of poisonous creatures were around. Back in the raccoon's forest there were tons of things to look at, from poisonous plants to poisonous flies. Out here, he didn't know what kind of creatures he'd encounter.
Probably very basic ones, he thought, as he set out for the small woods behind his and Pryderi's house. That's where he would start looking. All he had to do was peek under a few rocks and dead logs and he'd have what he was looking for. He'd been told that some frogs were poisonous, but he wasn't interested in them. There were people who liked frogs. Why the heck would he want something that people actually liked? Nope, he was getting himself a nice pair of creepy-crawlies for his bedroom windowsill. Nothing like watching poisonous creatures crawl around in confinement to put you to sleep.
As the Sin'aeis boy wandered down the forest path, he glanced thoughtfully up at the sky. It was cloudy today, though the air wasn't heavy enough for Maelon to be worried about rain. Not that he cared if he got rained on, he just wasn't sure if his camera was waterproof.
'Why not over there?
Pausing when his spider spoke, Mae's purple eyes wandered down to a rather rotten looking log. Aha! Bingo. Having more than one pair of eyes was so beneficial. "Here?" He asked, pointing at the log, and getting an affirmation from Timber. Grinning gleefully to himself, Maelon bent down to stare at the rotten tree, eyes roving over the surface. Hmmm...nothing obvious... wait! A centipede had crawled out of its hole, scurrying across the log towards another hole. Acting quickly, Mae opened the jar of his container and scooped up the insect, snapping the lid on. He held the container up to eyelevel, tapping gently on the top to make sure the air holes were working. There! Bug number one down.
He spent the rest of the morning searching for more poisonous bugs; however after his initial luck he hadn't managed to find anything. It was frustrating, he decided, as he watched creatures scurry out from underneath the rock he'd just lifted. Why couldn't poisonous bugs be easy to find? Weren't they supposed to be bright and easy to find?
'Watch your head. There's something on that leaf.'
Timber's warning caused Mae to stop, turning his head to stare up at the leaves above his head. He could see a small shadow through the leaves, and carefully backed away so he could get a good look at what was on it. It was a caterpillar, but one like nothing he'd ever seen before. It was so... spiky... was it poisonous? Doing a mental check - he'd read a book on caterpillars - Maelon grinned broadly when he realized what it was. A saddleback! What luck! He'd take this and be done!
Bugs in jars and Timber still on his shoulder, Maelon trotted back home. Talk about a successful outing! Hopefully Pry wouldn't mind having them in the house...

Maelon: Ability Gained!
Wow, Maelon seems to have gotten himself some extremely creepy lookin' creatures there. Well, he WAS allowed to get whatever he wanted, after all. You really gotta feel sorry for his care taker! In any case, these things have caused Maelon to gain:
an immunity against any type of poison.

Green light is on... we are good to go! Hey suckers, it's Maelon. Not been too long since I put up my last audio commentary, but that's okay. Nothing new really happened since the last time... well, besides the fact that I got two new bugs. Oh yeah, did I tell you about them? Heh. They are the best thing since chocolate-chip pancakes, and that is ******** awesome, let me tell you. But yeah, bugs. A centipede and a saddleback caterpillar, both real poisonous. We're talking about potent venom too... now if that doesn't put a s**t-eating grin on your face, I dunno what will. They're in jars on my windowsill. Yeah yeah, they're nice jars. Bigger than what I captured them in, and they've got air holes and stuff. I know how to take care of bugs, thanks.
*pause* *sounds of typing*
Um.... I don't really have that much to tell you about. Just bugs. They need names. 's what I'm looking for right now... what exactly does one name a saddleback caterpillar?

Wow it's been ages since I did one of these. Probably should start off with why I haven't been doing them.
You know how I said that we moved to this "quaint" home just outside of Barton? Well when we first got there we had no neighbours. There's a forest to the left and out behind, and just one house to our right. When we moved in that house was still for sale. It was for sale for a while, and then I guess they took if off the market because it wasn't swelling. Sometime in December, it went back up for sale again, and this time someone bought it. Let me tell you, Pryderi was all in a fluster. He didn't really want to tell me why he was nervous, though I told him already that I'm aware of my behaviour and I won't do anything intentionally to embarrass him. He seemed slightly consoled by this, but he got all jittery again when the moving vans starting coming in sometime in February. Finally told him he either needed to tell me or stop acting like a caged animal in my presence, and I got him to spill. I guess I probably should have expected the answer, but to be honest I've never really studied Pryderi's character for very long, especially during our period of all out war.
So this is what he said: He said that he wasn't really worried about my behaviour, he knew he was going to be too shy to go and welcome the new neighbours. He even said that it would be impolite if he didn't welcome them, but he couldn't bring himself to do it because he wasn't good at dealing with people. Pry admitted that he liked being out here because there were not too many people, and I've definitely going to have to agree with him on that one. Having neighbours is going to be bothersome, but I promised him that I'd help him out with this whole polite welcome thing. I don't know why he wants to do it, but since he doesn't question my likes I won't question his. Common courtesy thing, yah know?
Anyways, the day comes where the people finally move into the house. Here I'm thinking it's some old couple who are looking for a little cottage to relax in. Couldn't be further from the truth. Turns out to be a pretty young couple with FIVE kids. Count them. Five. ********'. Kids. Who the hell has five kids? I ask you, honestly. So I'm thinking "These parents are seriously off their rocker oh god the kids are going to be freaks" and I must say I was partially right. The eldest kid is my age, and every other kid is a year younger than the one before it. Five kids in about five years baby. Seriously, what the hell were these parents smoking? But whatever. Pry and I go over and say our hellos, and then the eldest kid comes out of nowhere. I mean nowhere. He just like… appeared or something. Appears out of nowhere and then all but tackle hugs me, proclaiming that we are now best friends.
*pause*
I shudder thinking about it. Kid's name is Bae, apparently, and because that rhymes with the first part of my name we have become friends. So says he. Aside from this random kid, the meeting went pretty well. Buuuut, I'm going to have to go over tomorrow and spend time with the kid. Trying my best to be polite, but I might just have to pull on his ears or something if he gets out of hand.
Seriously. Weird kid.

Hooooly s**t that kid talks a lot. Pry says that everyone talks a lot compared to me, but that's really beside the point. I do taaalk, I just don't like talking about stupid stuff. But I digress. The fact of the matter is Kim Bae (or "Bae" as he likes to call himself, because that rhymes with my name and goodness knows that's important) talks nearly twice as much as your everyday normal person. And because all he does is talk and not listen, he has not made me his butt buddy and told me that he's going to be spending loots of time with me so that we can get to know each other.
Seriously, what the hell? He didn't even ask me if I wanted to be his friend. He just assumed that since we were neighbours and around the same age that automatically made us friends. Uh... no? I like to hand pick my friends, thank you very much. They have to be willing to tolerate ME, not the other way around. I mean, I promised Pryderi I'd tolerate him, but that doesn't mean I have to be nice to him and put up with this. Sure I don't mind having intelligent conversations with intelligent people, but Kim Bae is anything BUT intelligent. He's like... sub-intelligent or something. Not really dumb, but you know... not all there. It's weird. He's too happy. Reminds me of the coon's brat, though I haven't seen him in a while. I guess Bae is just making up for him being back at Havok's house and not here to bug me.
*sigh*
Whatever. I put up with him today, talking and all, telling myself that I was learning about his family and him. Not much was interesting, and he probably told me more than I needed to know about his personal habits, but I dealt with it. What I didn't expect was when he was finished his tirade of useless facts that he'd turn on me and start questioning me. Sorry kid, but I don't just spew out personal information at the drop of a hat. That's not how things work over here. So I tell him this, hoping he'll just bugger off, but noooo, he takes this as a challenge! "You're a mystery!" He says, giving me the same look he probably gives the puzzles he can't solve.
*pause*
Luckily, Pryderi came in at that moment and said that we were heading home. Thank whatever deity exists up there. Though just when I thought I was safe, Bae's mother shows up and asks Pryderi if I would like to come with Bae to a concert later tonight. Not me, but Pryderi. Nice one lady. Pryderi, of course, looks down at me. What else was I supposed to do? Say no? I damn well wanted to, but I said I would anyway.
Huh. Well, concert is in an hour. I better get ready. Later.

Haha, s**t guys, do you know how awesome this is?
So I take Bae out to a concert, and what d'you know, I end up starting a fight with some pipsqueak called Jack. Not a bad kid, but at the time he was being a b***h. Stepped on my foot and tried to cuss me out. Nice. So I start a fight with him, we get nabbed by security. He wiggles out and turns the whole mosh pit into a rampage. Trust me, at the time I was pissed because it scared the s**t out of Bae, but when I look back now it was pretty funny. We get out into the parking lot and there's cops and fire trucks everywhere. I need to get out 'cause I need to take Bae home before his mother sees this on the news. Only one to team up with is Jack. Like I said, not a bad kid, but I'd seriously consider keeping your distance from him. He's got hell-knows-what in his pockets and his hat, and I don't fancy being hit in the face with steel wool again. Pry was not all that impressed when I came back with cuts on my face. But, back to the story.
This Jack kid throws some sort of home-made bomb into a nearby truck, we get the hell outta there, and then we make our way through an abandoned subway station. Nice eh? We get out from underground, and then I escort the shell-shocked Bae back home. Unfortunately, Bae's mum has had her face glued to the TV after we left, and somehow stumbled on the news. Once she got a glimpse of what was going on she freaked. Phoned the reporters and everything to see if they could get a glimpse of her son. When they couldn't find us in the crowd, she dragged Pryderi over and railed him out about sending me with Bae. According to her, every other concert Bae had went to he'd come back alive, so therefore I must have done something to cause Bae to go missing.
*snorts*
I feel sorry for poor Pry. Anyways, I get home just as she's about to box his ears and shove Bae into the living room before me. His mum's all over him in a second, and I manage to get Pryderi out before anyone notices. For once, I'm glad that he's got such a big family. Good distraction.
We get home, and the next morning Bae's mum is ringing on our doorbell. Pryderi's still partially deaf from her last rant, so I decide I might as well see what she wants. Now get this: she's upset with me because I put her son in danger. No "Thank you for saving his sorry a**", but she's telling me that she's pissed because I didn't bring her son home on time. Of course, after this, she proclaims that I won't be talking to her son for a while. As if, you know, this is some kind of threat or something.
My response was a nice, heartfelt "Good ******** riddance." And then I shut the door in her face.
All in all, today is looking like it'll be a pretty good day.
Cheers.

Haha, well so much for staying in the camp for two weeks.
I was only there for a week but I somehow managed to get lost in the woods, scratch up my face, sprain my ankle, and in the midst of all that make five new friends. I hesitate to use that word, only because it sounds superficial to me. To call them allies wouldn't give them any justice either. We spent the good portion of the week getting to know each other – or rather, me getting to know them – and then it all clicked when we got lost in the woods during the second night of the camping trip. I'm not sure what did it, but I'm leaning towards the fact that I saved Paragon. It really was no skin off my nose, but somehow my immunity to poison seemed not to dampen the effect of what I'd done. Even now I don't know why I did what I did. At the time, it was the only thing I could do, and it struck something in me to see tears in Paragon's eyes. It's not really that I pitied him... just that I felt the need to do something for him. I've told anyone that's asked why I did it that it was because I was afraid Smog would break my neck if I didn't help his friend, but I don't think anyone in Avalanche's group believed me. I don't even known if I believed myself, but it seemed a good cover.
Anyways, I'm sitting in the waiting room of the emergency hospital about a couple kilometres from the camp. Avalanche and the rest are sitting around me, but nobody's really watching what I'm writing. Except maybe Brine. Yes Brine, I can see you sneaking glances at my paper. Don't think I don't notice. Ha, there. I think he read that, and Avalanche caught him. Oooh, I can't imagine that cuff to the back of his head felt nice. Oh well. It serves him right. There we go, he's switching seats with Feral. Good. I've come to respect Feral. He says only what he needs to say, but at the same time he doesn't keep anything hidden. I always know he's telling the truth, and something about that makes me feel better.
What was I writing about? Oh yes, I was writing where I was so that I could talk about how the heck we got here. So we all huddled together during the storm underneath that tree, and fell asleep. About nine o'clock the next morning, Feral is poking me awake because the search team had found us. Apparently the leader had radioed into the main camp to see if we went back. When they replied that we hadn't, they'd sent a search team after us. They found us under that tree, and we all had to file out for inspection. Of course, the moment they found out that Paragon had been bitten by a snake they freaked out and radioed for some sort of forest rover to come and get him. That took about a good fifteen minutes to get there – I'm very glad I managed to get most of the poison out or else I think Paragon's arm would have been blue by the time they got him back to the camp – and then we all piled and went back to camp. Once we got there they had an ambulance waiting to take Paragon, and they through me and Smog in the back too. I think they thought I was bleeding from my mouth because of all the blood on my face. Avalanche, Brine, and Feral ended up bumming a ride off one of the camp counselors.
Regardless, here we are now sitting in the waiting room. I've had my face cleaned, and we've all had to go through the nurse and then the bathes. The nurse nearly had a fit when Feral told her I'd siphoned the poison out of Paragon's arm, and nearly had me swallow a purging powder before I thoroughly assured her that I was immune to poison. It hadn't occurred to her that it was nearly 24 hours since I'd done the siphoning and I was showing no signs of being poisoned by the snake. Still, she gave me a very evil eye when I left to go take a bath out back. We didn't get new clothes, but I think we were all thankful for that because the hospital garbs looked really itchy.
Well, the nurse just came out and told us that while the wound in his arm is rather ugly, he won't die from the snake bite. The wound isn't deep, and it'll heal soon enough. They're taking him out back for a bath and then he'll be allowed out with us. They've called Havok so I'll be expecting to go home soon. Or not. I might choose to stay with this group. We'll see.
Until later ~Maelon
