Zack nodded slowly, but couldn't speak at first. His brown hair had been cut shorter than it originally was so now it barely hung in his eyes, making it hard to hide his expressions. "I suppose...ending training means I've done all I can and I'm ready for what comes at me. I'm not sure if I am ready...I wanted to join to be stronger and help people, but I'm just not powerful, I'm not strong, and I'm easily frightened by the thought of combat so really I'm only a burden. Heh." he chuckled nervously before shutting himself up again to soothe his own nerves before he really made a fool of himself.

Coming closer to where the two sat, she "Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better." she replied, smiling again. "It's nice to meet you too, Namine." Before sitting down, she turned to Shinsei, with a look of gratefullness in her eyes. "I really can't thank you enough for helping me out. It means so much to me....." Pondering at a fast rate, she thought of a quick way to show at least some of her thanks. She walked closer to him, and gave him a small hug. She didn't want to scare him, since kindness is often a foreign language in the time of war, and she thought the kind Shinsei was nice.
She sat down next to Namine, opening the soda, wondering where he got it from. "Well, I just got here today, actually. I mananged to escape from the quaratined area I was in before, the only one..." she paused, hearing the click of the soda can open and she took a sip. It's been so long since she had soda. "It was a looooong flight, and over water as well." she added, laughing. "But watching the sun rise and set.......and the freedom....it was worth it."

Amelia couldn't hide her amused smile as he spoke of his feelings. His apprehension and nervousness was really rather cute, in her opinion. She could tell that he was very uncomfortable speaking to them in general. "I'm sure that somewhere inside yourself you will find the strength that you wish to posses. I can feel that you are not as weak as you assume you are. If you have made it almost all the way through knight training, surely you must not be a completely weak. Perhaps you should find someone who makes you feel safe. I always found that having a friend or too in battle is always makes one a little more confident." She had removed her hand from his arm and was now looking at him, sweetly smiling.

She was making good time, Haru thought idly as she deposited her sack onto a rock and changed back, rifling through it for food and drink. She was already on the mainland, having crossed the bridge an hour ago. From what she could remember, it was another hour for her to get to the camp. Scarfing down the jerky-like meat, she re-shifted and kept going, panting slightly. She wished that the sun would fall behind the wreckage of Moscow, however it was merely that, a wish.She'd be coming across another land bridge soon, which meant she'd be in Old North America. World-travel at its fastest~*~ Finally, she gasped. She was just outside the camp, arriving in Old New York barely ten minutes ago. I shouldn't have run that fast... I wasn't being chased... I.... ugh... With a soft whimper, she collapsed on the spot, shifting back into her human form. She welcomed the cool darkness of unconsciousness.

Namine smiled when Kiyoko hugged Shinsei and she wondered if he would react in the same way he did with her. When Kiyoko turned to her Namine made sure to focus on what she was saying. "I escaped from a research facility where I was kept captive..so i can understand where you are coming from" Namine said smoothing the hair of her tail its lustrous black coat of fur shining. "Did you have a plan when you escaped? I had no idead where I was going..and if it weren't for Shinsei who knows where I would be."

"Well, I had a distant cousin who was there as well. He told me about a refuge place, since he was here before he was captured. Three of us were planning to escape: me, him, and this other girl. The reason we (as well as many others) were out on the water facility was because there would be no way of other people escaping, well, without drowning in the vast sea. However, we were the only 3 with wings. There were plans for a distraction, so that we could escape. Once that was set, the 3 of us took off. However, the officials must've found out somehow, because they tried to shoot us down like vermin!" Kiyoko paused, staring at the soda can. "Well, the other girl was shot in the wing, and she fell into the sea. My cousin was able to dodge most of the bullets, until one got him in the head......he fell too." She paused again, remembering the chaotic screaming and the sound of bullets passing her.
"Well, somehow, I managed to escape, but it was a 3 day flight over the sea, without stopping. As tiresome as it was, it was worth it flying freely in the air with the seagulls. And now, I'm here." she added, taking another sip of the soda.

Going stiff for a moment, Shinsei recieved another hug as he still wasn't used to the gesture. Looking around the room, he coughed into his fist and simply listened to the conversation as they spoke to one another. Two types to have escaped from somewhere, he was naturally born in this place...it wasn't a quarantine area, but it seemed more abandoned, making it easily inhabited by beasts. Picking up a light yawn from the other room as Maya came out with her hair down and the bear in her arms as she smiled at the others as small cat ears came from her head and a slight tail swung as she was in her pure hybrid form.
She usually awoke in this form since she couldn't control herself completely for being so young as she greeted everyone. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to fall asleep..." she said as she ran around and towards the door as she suddenly stopped and walked towards Shinsei. "Hm? Leaving so soon?" he asked as she nodded "I'm gonna go out and see if I can find more toys. I'll be back soon, so don't be mean to Namine while I'm gone." she lectured while waving a finger at him as he wrinkled his nose and smirked "Alright, fine. Have fun, Maya." he said as he patted her head before she ran out the door.

Smiling back, he looked at the girl with a thankful nod "Thank you, I appreciate the word of comfort..." he said before looking back out the window for a moment. He felt a bit calmer now and clasped his hands together lightly. His reflection in the glass except for his eyes as he looked out at the scenary below as he looked at the ruined city below.

Nebula gave them both a weak smile and leaned back in her seat, thinking she might get some kind of sleep before they got there. Her mind wandered to the beasts, thinking about their motives, their plans. She thought about the cities they would attempt to bring down…the innocent people they would bring down as well. Anger stirred in her, it never left her, she didn’t think it would ever, not until they were defeated. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down enough to at least appear to be in control.

iris walked along the surface, in search of some form of people. She was half-starved, a result of not eating for a week, and she had reverted to a half-snake form. She walked slowly, conserving her energy. "hello?" she asked, voice cracking. "is anyone here?"

Namine watched Shinsei's reaction when the girl hugged him. He definetely wasn't used to people bebng affectionate especially females. When Namine saw Maya she smiled....she looked too cute in her cat ear and tail. Seeing the exchenge between them was heart warming. It was funny when aya chastised him..asking him not to be mean to her. Namine got up frm the couch and decided she would step out for a breath of fresh air. She smilled at the girl "we can continue our conversation later for now im gonna take a walk and enjoy the day. Namine looked at Shinsei briefly before turning quickly and trotting outside.

iris stumbled, her eyes swam. She hadn't used the knife in a long time. She fell to the ground and started coughing, as much blood coming out as there was air. When she didn't cut, her lungs paid the price. and now she could barely breathe.She fumbled for her switchblade. She couldn't find it. She coughed again, and spat blood.
"h-help!" she gasped, finally grasping the blade. She ran it quickly along her hand, feeling the blade bite the vine-like shapes in her skin. The coughing slowed, but it didn't stop. She did the same with her other palm. The coughing stopped altogether. She stood up, shaking. She looked around hesitantly, and looked at herself. She was splattered with blood, and her hair stuck out oddly. She was almost amazed by the amount of blood covering her. Her uncle had bled as much when he died. "Good thing black doesn't stain..." she said, continuing her walk.
it was then she came to a small stream. She walkedinto it, letting it wash away most of the blood. She heard someone in the distance. "Hello?" she asked.
