"So...babies are made from baskets?" That didn't make any sense. His mother had told him that babies came from a man and a woman who love each other very much. There was some other part of that too, but she never explained quite what it was. She said that she'd explain it to Hyacinthus when he was older.

eek "Oh no no no no!" Oy vey...how was he going to explain this without warping the childs mind? "You see...all pae come from two pae who love eachother-...no. all pae come from two pae who decide to...to do this magical...dance. Yes. Dance. A very special dance that can only be done when you are older. Well these two pae do the dance and if they are lucky...or unlucky depending on how you look on it...one of the two pae suddenly is pregnant. The exception is some faeries, where the gaurdians make them. I was made by a gaurdian out of a theme, just as you were made by one given that your mother is not a pae." Dance? Well why not. It was...sort of like a dance...sort of.

Now he understood. He didn't understand entirely, but he got the gist of it. Someone else could always explain the details a little later when he was older. "I get it now. Thanks, Tristen." He had always pursued the innermost details of how he came into existence, but something about Tristen's explanation helped him realize that those details were still unknown. Happily, he once again snuggled up to the adult's chest. "I like how you explain things." He'd probaby need an adult pae to help him in his teenage days because his parents still had a noticeable lack of understanding when it came to pae'il sex and sexuality.

He felt a bit guilty for tagging sex as a dance, but he didn't want to scar the child. Tristen sweetly smiled at the boy. No...he didn't want to scar him. "I like how you quickly catch onto things." So I don't have to go in deeper. The male fae stopped infront of Hyacinthus' mothers door. "Ready?"

He took a deep breath before finally nodding. "But I wanna knock on the door."
Sappho sat curled up on her couch with some hot tea and a book about Pae'il. She needed to read up on these creatures so she and her life-partner could help their son. Suddenly, she heard a knock at her door. Who could that be?
"Hi mommy!" chirped Hyacinthus, almost bouncing in Tristen's arms.
She smiled, leaning down to kiss her child's brow. "Well, you look like you had a lot of fun."

"He's a sweet kid, it was easy to have fun." Tristen smiled at the female before glancing to the book. Aha... "Reading up on pae'il dear lady? You know if you have any questions, you could simply come to me."

She smiled sheepishly. "That's very kind of you." She introduced herself so that he had a name to a face. "I'm sorry that I didn't introduce myself earlier. I was a bit taken off-guard." Setting the book aside, she took Hyacinthus in her arms. "It was very nice to meet you." Sappho looked to her little boy with a sweet grin. "Did you have a good time?"
He nodded eagerly. "Can Tristen come over again soon? Please?" He also hoped that Tristen would try talking to his mother.

He chuckled. "Yes? Please? I'm sure my boyfriend would love to meet him..." Tristen blinked in faked surprised horror that he had let such a think 'slip'. The male winced

Hyacinthus didn't understand what was going on. "But Tristen, you said that you liked a girl and not a boy." Why was he lying to his mother?
Sappho reeled, staring at him incredulously. "Um...honey, why don't you go help Xanthippe." She set the little boy on the ground. "Go on. Ask her if she needs help." Once her son was gone, she asked in an ominously soft voice, "Tristen, what exactly are you up to?"

OOC: XD Hyacinthus completely distroyed tristen plan. Just up and lit it ablaze
BIC: He sighed, sitting down on the floor. "Truth is, I am mated to a female. Thing is, your son knows this and wrecked the very slick plan I had. Don't be mad at your son, please, if anything, be mad at me. But I am aware of your...problem with Xanthippe, pae'il, the gaurdians, you and of course, your son. I was asked to help straighten things out, but...I hoped to do it a lot more smoothly then this." sweatdrop "Sweet child, doesn't get the hint too easily though."

She folded her arms tightly in a defensive position, tilting her head toward him. "So he told you that I'm a lesbian, though probably not in those words?" she asked, wanting to make certain that she was hearing Tristen correctly. She groaned inwardly, adding, "And he must be very nervous about the fact that he told you when I asked him not to."
Since Xanthippe had graciously told the little boy that she didn't need any help, Hyacinthus peered out from behind a corner to watch the adults converse. Would he convince his mother?
(Hehe, Cinthy often calls people on their lies.)

"Precisely. I didn't even catch it at first." He shrugged. "I never saw it as that big of a deal." Tristen sighed and crossed his legs. "And of course he's worried, this must be very hard on him. Being a child and running the risk of being taken away. He's a bright child...he knows that if it hadn't been on the island and I wasn't the fae of love, it could have gone really bad, really fast."
OOC: Tristen: gonk it was only one small itty bitty white lie! I would have soon told her anyway that my boyfriend was really my girlfriend >>pouts<<

She downcast her eyes for a moment, fearing that he would probably think that she was a bad parent for filling her child's head with those notions. Unfortunately, those notions were very real to her. "I really appreciate you coming here to assure me," she said, still not sure about what he was trying to do, "but being a lesbian isn't very popular where I'm from. We just haven't lived here long enough to know what people accept and what they don't. I've told him that I'm not too worried about the other pae'il like you. But I am worried about pae'il 'parents' if you will." She sighed, lowering her voice. "I don't want someone hurting my son just because his parents are different."
(Awww *pats Tristen* He's just naive. If anything, he's just happy that you're talking to his mommy^^)

"I understand that, I really do. No matter where you go, someone will hate you just for your sexuality preference. It's unescapable, I'm not going to lie to you there. But here...we don't really care that much. Such as...though I might not have a boyfriend, but a girlfriend, I am still very much attracted to males. No one has called me out on it, no one has hurt either of my daughters. I have a good friend of mine, Yukio, who is only a teenager but is strictly on males." He shook his head slowly. "My brother raken has told me about the impossibility of human same gender couples having children, but here it is very much so possible. No Gaurdian will take your son away and the majority of the pae'il here are very understanding. It's about as good as it gets anywhere."
OOC: Tristen: sweatdrop I guess. Really want a glass of milk though from all this talking

She smiled blushingly at the Love pae. "I was wondering about that sort of thing. I guess that I should've had full trust in Xanthippe about choosing a new place for us to live. I'm glad that I don't have to worry now. He's pretty sensitive to how Xanthippe and I feel." Now Sappho didn't have to worry anymore. "Thank you so much. We've been too afraid to ask anyone about that."
Hyacinthus bounced on the balls of his feet with glee. "I knew he'd do it," whispered the little boy.
