Oh! I never introduced myself! I'll try not to rant, as I often do that.

From my other posts, you can pretty much gather my overall thoughts and history with Steampunk, so I'll just say... hi, my name is Xiam, I currently reside much in the GCD on the regular forums, and I have an obsession with coming up with many different outfits for my avatar. I view them each as separate characters, and have various background stories for each of them. Which is good, because in real life I'm a complete loser, a 22-year-old with no life whatsoever. xd

I mostly post as myself, though, so nothing really changes from one outfit to the other, besides my appearance. So um... no matter what, I'm always the geek known as Xiam.

...Feel free to pronounce that however you want, by the way. sweatdrop

Nice to meet you, Xiam!

I can't quite recall if I've introduced myself or not, so... yes. Hello, everyone! Name's Briix. I am still somewhat new to the steampunk world, first introduced to it on that fateful day when I pulled Perdido Street Station off the shelf at the bookstore and took it home, but my love for overly complex, analytical machines, airships, brass and goggles is no less profound for it, I assure you.

Anyway, I look forward to haunting this forum and sharing what tidbits I come across. Ta! 4laugh

Hmmm... Well, I find introductions tedious, but people sedom have any idea what I'm talking about unless they have some idea of who I am, so I suppose that they're necessary.

I am Planck, Roos, Rose (English variant of the previous), Crank, Daniel, Nerdonator, Tau, Faiya and Marie. I am a Dutch physicist, tinkerer, and overall Renaissance woman. I am full of abstruse trivia, which some people find interesting, but infuriates most. I am an unashamed caffeine addict, Crazy Cat Lady, Roman Catholic (though had I lived three hundred years ago, I'd likely have been burnt), occasional heretic. I am socially inept.

What else can I say? Huzzah for the bohemian, the eccentric and the mad! Huzzah for progress and propriety! Thank you for having me. I believe this will be a lot of fun.

Hello there~ I'm the Awful Beast biggrin ! Or Manda~
I've only recently heard of SteamPunk through a friend. I have always been a fan of Edwardian and Victorian fashion though. I also like drawing, making clay jewelry and the paranormal.

Hi all!

I just recently became interested in steampunk. I realized I've loved it all of my life and just never realized there is a name for it.

I'm sort of working on a steampunk comic that hopefully will see the light of day. But so many projects...so little time razz

Anyway! Glad to be here and look forward to it! ^___^

But... I like teh ramble...

Hi all! My name's Taiga, Tai for short, and I'm a writer. <3

I don't exactly remember how I came across the Steampunk Wikipedia article, but I liked what I saw there. I started looking to find out more about it, and I was hooked. I even based my novel this year for NaNoWriMo on it. <3 I'd love to learn more about it, and this seems like a great way to do it.

Much love!

Hi. the name is Jesse.

Though I'm far more interested in cyberpunk, I recently came across the term "steampunk" and found that many of my favorite films and books are relagated to this genre, including several animes. I began browsing some websites, and found that alot of the aestheic appealed to me, espcially seeing as my 'dream' is for a world where modern technology exists without any severe imp[act on the natural world which I love.
You could suppose my first real introduction to steampunk would be reading "The time machine" and watching several animes back in the 90s. I'm not a big fan of victorian fashion, but the idea of steam powered computers fascinated me from a young age.
I'd like to stick around here for a while and see what I can learn about this fascinating genre and aesthetic.
I will not be very active, seeing as I'm in the process of writing a Cyberpunk novel.

Hi! My name's Laur. You can call me Laur, Laust, Laustere, or any variation thereof- I honestly do not care.

I've always had kind of an interest in anachronistic fantasy, which piqued somewhat with my discovery of The Dresden Dolls and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I'd like to learn to make things like watches and belt buckles in a delicious steampunky fashion, eventually write/draw a comic/novel, and alltogether find out more about the subject.

I enjoy random PMs and friend requests, and you can generally find me dropping my two cents in on things I have either a very extensive knowledge of or no knowledge of at all. I love a good debate but I hate being wrong so I rarely partake. -LAME-

OH AND I ROLEPLAY TOO BUT I'M VERY OUT OF PRACTICE. And actually quite busy with a theatrical production, at the moment. It'll come. ~

Greetings, you may call me Myles or Mylian. I've always been attracted to the steampunk aesthetic, really. Probably since before "steampunk" had a name, as I'm 27. My current favorite bit of steampunk genre is the Girl Genius comic drawn by the Foglios.

Hello, my name is Emily, though I prefer to go by ChibiChew or CC! I'm fifteen years old and from New York state.

I only very recently learned about steampunk (three days ago?), though I had heard the term before and had a vague idea of what it was. Once I learned more about it, I instantly loved it.

Hello there! I am .Sodomy.On.A.Stick. [it's quite a long story as to how I got this name], but you may call me Sod, Soddy, Sticky, Sodomy, Ona... whatever floats your boat, really xD So long as I know you're addressing me, I shall reply.

I found Laputa: Castle in the Sky quite some years back, and instantly fell in love with it. I loved the ideas behind steampunk without knowing it had a name, really. I came across the Wikipedia entry in my travels, read it, and realized that I had fallen in love with the style. I've carried a pocketwatch and goggles around with me in real life for quite some time, and believe me, I was quite relieved to know I wasn't the odd one out! xD

Well anyway. I am a writer and am currently working on a steampunk novel [as well as another, fantasy/futuristic novel, and my NaNoWriMo novel which is in the editing phase], and I'd love to roleplay and become part of the airship.

My my, I did rant, didn't I! Well, as I writer I suppose I have an excuse xD Thanks for letting me join the guild, and I do hope we have fun <3

[Feel free to drop me a PM, everyone! I'd love to chat :'D]

~ I see things the darker kids see.

Hi!

I'm Paws in Naughty Places. I'm 21 (22 next month... >_>;;; ), and I live scattered between two towns in CT and Brooklyn, NY. You can call me Paws, Pawsy, "Hey, you!", or whatever else you see fitting. =3 I'm a psychology major, and apparently (according to a professor I had last semester...) that automatically makes me an odd ball, you know, experiments with people and what not~!

I guess I've been a fan of Steampunk for a while without knowing the name for it. >_>;;; One of my favorite books growing up was The Time Machine, and I've recently become thoroughly addicted to Girl Genius. I'm trying to start reading things besides comics and manga again, so I'm going to be starting out with Jules Verne. >_>;;;

Anyways, I like talking with people. =D Feel free to PM me, but don't send me a random Friend's Request, I like getting to know people before hand. =D

Though you wouldn't believe all that's happened to me. ~

YO! It's me, Tripp Thorne! yeah, I love steampunk, and I just recently found out it's been my life recently... yeah, I've loved goggles my whole life and pore over the works of Verne and only wish there were more books I could fnd, because steampunk novels seem to elude me like Sasquatch. Anywho, no rambling so yeah, hi there, glad to be here!
