"Contolio, huh? Sounds like a man with a good idea, getting rid of these mutants. Though I wouldn't know. I've never heard of him." said Akuri, shrugging.
"So he really has a way to get rid of them for good? Hmmm..." she said, trailing off into a mutter.

((Sorry for my absence all, but I would like to introduce Mitena, one of the veterans of this RP, and thus, also a GM. She's been away for a while, so if you could just pretend that she's been traveling with Seriph and me all this time, that would be great.))

"His name was Victor Contolio," Blank finally chimed in. It had taken him a while to process the names of the newcomers into his memory bank, but he took the talk of Contolio as a point to add his input. "What Arashi says is correct - that the organization aims to rid the world of mutated monsters that now plague the earth. I would know - I'm one of them." Grinning proudly, he released his bleeding shoulder and used his right index finger to pull down the collar of his black shirt. He pulled the material far enough to expose the flesh in the middle of his upper chest, revealing the tattoo he had recieved upon becoming a member of the band of exterminators. His chest shone slightly with the little sweat he worked up from the battle earlier, causing the insigna on his skin to glisten slightly. After allowing the others to see, he unhooked the top of his shirt from his finger and resumed applying pressure on his wounded shoulder. "I'm not really with the organization anymore, though," he said with a little ashamed smirk. "I mean - I am. I'm just not working any particular missions. I'm a wanderer," he added.

"So most of you speak high of this man... he must be pretty good at what he does." Ryuk looked at the ground for answers before he looked at Blank, "That's where you guys are going then. To meet this guy and help exterminate?" It was a stab in the dark but it made a lot of sense if it was correct. The new comer was a little off to him, but he wouldn't say anything mainly because he had to seem a little off for the rest of the group.

{{ Hi everyone! Sorry I couldn't be here earlier, I was a bit caught up in finals and such. x -x;;
Umm... it's nice to meet you all! >w<;
And thank you Blank, for the intro. :'3 Now I shall post. }}
.

As the strangers each introduced themselves in turn, Avari hung back, standing behind Blank and Seriph. She wasn't sure who these people were or if they could be trusted. What were their intentions? Why were they really traveling out here in the middle of the plains, alone?

Phoenix's silky black tail brushed against her leg, and Avari reached down to pick him up. She straightened herself and stood with the cat in her arms, holding him to her chest. Resting her chin on the soft black fur of his head, her silver eyes flashed about, inspecting the faces of those around her from beneath her dark lashes. She didn't stare - that would be rude - but she took a good glance at them all, remembering their faces at the same time she tried to remember their names. Those were a bit harder to recall.

Although she wanted to introduce herself, the others already seemed to be in quite an engaging conversation, and Avari was reluctant to interrupt. She didn't mind waiting until they had finished talking, anyway; she didn't feel herself so significant that they needed to know who she was immediately. Too shy to speak up, she hung back and let them talk.

Blank began to answer their question about Contolio, and Avari glanced up at him as he revealed his tattoo, proof that he was part of the organization. Avari was standing behind him, so she couldn't see it. Not that I'd care to... she thought, looking away almost embarrassedly. Contolio... she held no love for that name. They had been too late. They had failed to save her family. And from the stories she'd heard and things she'd seen in the hospital, they'd failed to save others, too. Avari knew well enough that one organization couldn't be expected to save everyone, but it left her bitter to think that everyone looked up to the Contolio as if they were the solution to everything. What of her father's research? Did anyone ever think of that? Hadn't the people of this world quenched their thirst for bloodshed during the war? Or was that hope too much to ask?

Another voice spoke out, and Avari looked over her shoulder to locate the source. Her eyes took in everything without a second glance: Green eyes. Black spikey hair. She noted the belt with weapons. "So most of you speak high of this man... he must be pretty good at what he does. That's where you guys are going then. To meet this guy and help exterminate?" Avari looked away, feeling slightly sick. Pretty good at what he does... yes, well, it depends on whose view you're looking at... The screaming of her older sister was still loud in her ears. Shutting her eyes momentarily, Avari sighed to herself before looking toward the ground at Blank's feet, wondering how he would reply to the young man's question.

Phit just now noticed another girl in the group. She hadn't noticed her earlier when she had first seen everyone, or durring the fight. She must have been on the other side of everyone else. She returned her attention to what the one named Blank was saying. He seemed to be the leader of the group and a good person.. She was already very slowly letting herself trust him.
Curseing herself for her stupidness, she promised herself she wouldent trust anyone just to much. After all she had been through, Phit very well knew better then to do that.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2007 7:01 pm

((Ahh, Blank's no leader. >.> He's just talkative, heh.))

"Well," Blank started to say. He looked upward as if to think of an explanation, and his lips quirked slightly at the corners. "Victor Contolio isn't exactly alive anymore," he said before absentmindedly licking his lips. Standing in the middle of such an open area made him a little uneasy now that he took a look at their surroundings again. They had already been attacked once, and the plains didn't really seem a place fit for casual talk.

Blank turned a little around in his slight anxiety, as if looking for something though not really knowing what. Seeing that Avari was standing behind them holding her cat, he calmly reached back and petted the black feline. He noticed the young girl being her usual quiet self and took the chance to introduce her. "By the way, this is Avari," he said, smiling at her. She seemed to still be the youngest of all of them, but Blank wanted to make sure that she was included.

In a way, however, Blank was somewhat dodging the question of what their reason for traveling was. The newcomers seemed friendly enough, but what did he really know about them? They acted as if they knew little of the group Contolio, save for the man that introduced himself as an aspiring member - Arashi, but were they really that oblivious? The Contolio, though does not act to advertise its accomplishments, is quite famous as an organization of highly skilled monster exterminators. Few members were even revered as beings with skills so exceptional that they ranked almost legendary - unnatural, it would seem. No doubt they had help from the serum, Blank thought to himself, remembering the special serum injected into his skin when he got his tattoo, heightening all of his abilities. The new acquaintances, however, seemed to have been traveling individually for some time, and Blank understood how difficult obtaining information was when you roamed the earth alone. Nevertheless, he was not eager to share their destination with them just yet.

"Avari, nice to meet you." Arashi said with a friendly smile, "It really is a pleasure to meet all of you, but I must ask: Where are you going from here? Are we going in the same direction? Because if we are we should surely travel together, strength in numbers and all that. However, if we are to take differing paths perhaps you could point me in the direction of my goal. Blank, you seem to be a man of much information, could you inform those of us that are not presently a part of your traveling party where you are going so that we can make an informed decision as to where we should be going?"

Akuri looked at Avari and waved happily. She hadn't noticed the girl until now. Turning back to the conversation, she said,
"Yeah...this place isn't really fit for conversation. It's too open and there's too many places for enemies to hide..."
She began to shift from one foot to the other restlessly.

Seriph finally decided to pipe. Annoyance was evident in his voice as he stated, "Blank, Jania, Avari, and myself were heading to the main Contolio base for reasons that you don't need to know right now." Seriph was usually very friendly around people that he knew however, mostly through the training of his former master, he was naturally distrustful of people he didn't know.

"I can respect that your goals are your own. However, our destinations appear to be the same. So I must ask: May I accompany you?" Arashi said feeling somewhat put out by Seriphs tone.

((Hola, Josue. ?Como esta?))

((lol! yes, I know. but my character just thought that yours seemed as a leader ish person. I don't know. it wasn't really nesisary to write. gonk ))

Phit didn't know what to say to the one called Seriph's responce. She had never heard of the Contolio guy or anything, and would have been just fine not meeting these people, exept the pack of mutants that would have probably killed her.

((hey! you guys Im sorry , but next week I won't be on the comp. Ill be on vacation!! see ya!))
PostPosted: Sun Jun 17, 2007 1:08 am

((Haha, okay, I see Phit. Well, have a good vacation! biggrin ))

Blank was suprised at Seriph's statement, but was somewhat relieved that he saved him from answering. He was never really one to put people off, and thus was glad for his friend's ability to be straightforward. Arashi didn't seem to be too disheartened, however, because he still asked to join their party. Clearing his throat and giving a friendly smile, Blank said, "The more the merrier! You are most welcome to join us." Glancing hopefully at his comrades, he then looked for any opposition they might have. Blank could only speak for himself, but it was usually quite easy for one to join their growing traveling group. Besides, they were going the same direction, and Blank doubted if many could find the Contolio Control Center without previous knowledge of its location. It was certainly well hidden - another reason that made Blank a little hesitant. He wasn't even sure if he would remember how to get in the base. But as a member, he should try to help one aspiring to become a member of Contolio - Shouldn't he?

"Well then, we should proabably get out of the plains," Blank said, agreeing with what Akuri previously said. "We can talk while we walk," he added, turning around to start down the path they had previously started to tread. "Hey - um - I don't believe I caught your name," he then said to the man with spikey hair and green eyes. "I'd still like to get those healing herbs you were talking about. I'm decent, but not too good at picking them out." Blank was looking at his wounded shoulder again, finding that the bleeding had almost completely stopped. The wound was still there, and while the special serum flowing through his viens would accelerate the healing process, it would still take a while to heal fully.

((*jumps up and down* I GET TO POST!!! sorry it was a small post))

Ryuk looked at the man and gave him a soft smile, something he hadn't done in awhile, "The names Ryuk..." He turned to walk away, "It doesn't seem too bad." He winced slightly at his own pain and then glanced back, "Blank... right?" He looked at the other man, Seriph, he didn't seem one to trust very easily. Just like the rest.

{{ Phit - Have fun! ^^ }}
.

As Blank turned around and petted Phoenix, Avari looked up. Phoenix made a rumbly noise at the young man's gesture, flicking his ear irritably before leaping out of Avari's arms and slinking off into the grass. Avari sighed. He was a moody cat, that was for sure. Oh well - he'd be back later.

"By the way, this is Avari," said Blank.

Avari looked up to see him smile. She returned it with a shy nod, then glanced around at the others briefly, hesitant to meet their eyes. Without Phoenix to hold on to, she pulled at the front of her shirt uneasily, embarrassed by the attention. Bowing nervously, the girl tried not to look at them, her limbs stiff from the feeling of their eyes upon her. In addition to being naturally shy and easily embarrassed, Avary became even more nervous around strangers, and she exhibited signs of her self-consciousness by staying as unnoticeable as possible. Nevertheless, she wasn't one to be rude. At Arashi's greeting, she gave a small smile and nodded in his direction. Then, noticing a flicker of movement at the corner of her eye, Avari looked up to see another girl -Akuri, was it?- waving at her. She smiled and nodded in reply, still saying nothing.

It was then that Seriph spoke up. Despite how bluntly he said it, Avari shared his reluctance to announce all of their plans to this group of complete strangers who'd appeared, it seemed, out of nowhere. Of course, she wasn't going to say that out loud. She was more of the quiet type.

"The more the merrier! You are most welcome to join us."

Seeing Blank's look of question, Avari, after slight hesitation, decided to give her support. "Certainly," she added quietly with a nod, saying nothing more. And besides, wouldn't they stand a better chance if they were attacked? Traveling in a larger group did give that advantage. Even if they didn't know them... the most they could do was keep an eye out and hope that these people were friends and not enemies.

As Blank turned and began to walk down the path, Avari followed, trailing behind the others. She didn't want to get in the way, after all. As she walked, she made a quick glance for Phoenix, but didn't see him. Deciding he would come back when he felt like it, as he had all the other times, she contented herself with the scenery and moved on.

((Avari, Akuri, Arashi... These names are all way to similar... I apologize in advance if I mix your characters... ))

Arashi joined the others and began to follow after them as they walked in a direction that would lead them out of these plains. He hoped that they would take him to where he wished to go. His family was counting on him, they could hold back the monstrous beasts that continually attacked their home, but not indefinately. They were counting on what he would learn as a member of The Contolio. Once he was educated in the art of combating these fiends he could return to his home, either alone or with a team, and eradicate all monsters in the area. Then, when they were safe for at least a reasonable period of time, he could teach the techniques and methods of beast slaying to his brethren and they could live out their lives, never again in fear of death at the fangs or claws of some mutated animals with a thirst for blood and ataste for human flesh.

All of this hinged on his finding The Contolio, and learning their secrets. Now, finally, after months of wandering with half pointed directions, he had a real lead, he had met people that knew the location, and they could lead him there. As long as he stayed in their good graces. He'd just have to be his charming self for as long as possible. No problem.
