Morthan gave a whinny of amusement and snapped his muscular tails. "Believe me," he said with a grin, "watching foals learn to fly is wonderful funny and endearing when they're awful at it but once they get the hang of it I at least felt incredibly proud. The look on their faces when they manage their first flawless swoop or lading is amazing."
Yes. Life was dull without things to keep you busy, he knew this well from personal experience. Now he did have something to do though; he had to show Eira his home, get to know her better and work out exactly what they could be to one another. He hoped that they would remain close even if they didn't end up mates or whatever. It would be good to have a neighbour who wasn't utterly intent on a suicide mission.
"And foals give you plenty to do," the white stallion went on. "I never found myself wanting for something to do while my girls were growing up. They just never seemed to stop thoroughly exhausting but never dull."

She smiled, laughing softly. "Yes, but thats how you know you have gone a good job, when your falling asleep on your feet and your head is pounding from non stop chatter. You know then that you have done the best you could do...and that they will grow up well, they will be healthy and happy..." She smiled.
"And beside, running around till your legs ache is better then sitting under a tree growing fat as time passes." she giggled.

Morthan smiled faintly and nodded to the mare's words. "Yes. There's nothing like knowing you've done your best and that it's actually come out well. Seeing them get older and cleverer and start having their own lives... Even when they start questioning you is good, or I thought it was. Shows they're thinking for themselves, so I felt. A bit of a pain in the backside to have to argue your point rather than just have them hear and obey but a rewarding kind of a pain in the backside."
Perhaps that had been a bit of a contradiction but he didn't care all that much either way. What he thought and felt were what he thought and felt. Having found somebody who seemed to agree with a lot of them was refreshing and he was hardly going to stop sharing them now.
“And yes,” he added after a moment with a grin. “I’d definitely rather not end up the approximate shape of a barrel. Not very practical, especially for flying.” The blue-eyed stallion briefly imagined some of the better padded Nequus he’d met attempting to take off and gave a soft snort of amusement. Gods smite him if he ever ended up needing to leap form a great height to get into the air and be less flying once he got there than falling in a controlled, sustained manner.

She nodded. "Yes, vary much so." She smiled. "Better they can think for themselves then need somone to tell them what to do. After all, what a horrible life that would be, being told what to do instead of thinking for yourself." She said. "Of course it would always be a good thing to teach them manners. Argueing with a parent isn't that good, a bit rude really. Tho questions are wonderful...there is a limit per day oen can anwser so many questions."
She had to laugh at the image given to her at the thought of the stallion large and fat. "What a funny sight." she said, laughing softly. "The handsome Morthan, with a great big gut. How horrible. That would be extreamly bad for flying..."

The pale stallion snorted in amusement once more before shaking off the mental image of a tubby him and turning his mind back to Eira's previous words. "Yes, incessant questions become very tiresome after a while. When it got too much I used to resort to 'go off and play will you, I’ll explain later'. Never really had big problems with them arguing with me though, which was nice. If they wanted something they'd plead and beg and argue for a little while but if I put my hoof down they'd abide by my decision."
He liked to think that he'd done a good job raising them. Oh he'd been a bit of a grouch on occasion but they'd loved him still and come out as wonderful mares. He must have done something right somewhere along the line, probably pretty well most of the way along it actually. There were few things he regretted about how he'd raised them if any at all. Still, it would be nice to give parenting a second go, see if he'd got better at it. To have little ones running around again and getting themselves into trouble would be wonderful.
Morthan grinned to himself. "Good girls on the whole they were," he commented.

Eira smiled. "Your lucky to have had a chance to be able to care for children." she said, smiling. She sighed a bit. She really loved the thought of little foals, running around, playing, curled up at night sleeping. After she had left Dark she had, for a while, regretted it merly for the fact that with him she could have had children, but that wouldn't have been fair to her or the children, nor Dark. She had been afried she'd never meet somone else...Never have a chance...Now she had met Morthan, however, there was hope...lots of hope.

Morthan grinned and nodded his head. "Indeed; being a parent is quite an opportunity. The chance to pass on what you know, what you believe in to a new generation. It's nice to know too that, even once you're dead and gone, you've left some print on the world."
It was a comforting thought, knowing that a bit of him lived in each of his children and would too in any grandchildren he might even already have. This must be the reason big families were fashionable, this and the influence many children could bring to a successful sire and dam. If your bloodline continued, you never really died and surrounded by the laughter of foals you never truly grew old.
"Definitely an experience worth repeating," the blue-eyed stallion said with a smile at his companion. She'd make a good mother, he was sure of it.

"A repeat experience for you mabye, But it would be a first time experience for me..." She smiled lightly. "But one i want to experience...more then anything." she admited. "esspecially after hearing you talk about it. You just make me want to have little foals more and more." she softly nudged him. "I think your tryign to torture me, you big goof."

Morthan chuckled and nudged back. "Perhaps I am," he said even though he wasn't. "Still, no matter how much I build it up to you I can assure you it'll be both more wonderful and more frustrating that words can say."
Would she want... well they'd only just met but they liked each other, they were both healthy... well fairly in his case and he hadn't passed on his albinism to his previous foals; there was no reason he would if he had more. So that wasn't a problem then. Good. Well... well maybe if he got to know her better and they continued to get on this well something could happen between them. He could hope at any rate.

"I'm counting on it." She said, smiling softly. She glanced around. "So...how much farther to your home?" She asked, looking back at him. "We've been walking for a while now."
And to be honest she coudn't think of anything mroe to say...SHe thought about having children with the albino stallion beside her. And to be honest, the thought of being a mother thrilled her, the thought of having a family with a stallion who knew what he was going calmed her fears, and havign a family with somone so kind, so funny, warmed her heart.

Morthan grinned ruefully. "See those mountains in the distance?" he asked with a nod to the peaks of Casa Tiner. "My home is quite close to them. I'm afraid we have quite a few days to travel ahead before we reach my territory." It wouldn't be a drag though as he had expected the homeward leg to be.
He had company now; intelligent, kind, beautiful company. There were few things in life, the blue-eyed stallion considered, that were quite as wonderful as finding somebody you could tell anything to, especially when you'd known them as short a time as he had known Eira.
"Perhaps," Morthan suggested with a smile to his companion, "the suspense will add to how well you like the place. Suspense has a way of adding savour to life, don't you think?"

Eira smiled, laughing a bit softly. "yes, perhaps. Tho i'm nto sure anyplace you lived would be a horrible place. And esspecially near you. how could anyplace be horrid or dull with such a stallion around." She smiled at him. "I don't think i've ever had a better time then talking to you. Tho..." She looked ahead. "I think we might well run out of subjects..." she said with a bit of a smile. "Unless your wise old brain," she was teasing him lightly. "can come up with an interesting topic." She said, smiling a bit playfully.

Morthan chuckled softly and shook his head. "No, no you're quite right. There comes a time when talk runs out, for a while at least." The pale stallion turned his eyes back onto his companion, studying her carefully again. She was as beautiful as he'd thought her on first sight still but less alien; even in the short time they'd spent talking he felt he'd got to know her reasonably well.
"Still," he smiled after a moment or two. "Silence has a charm of its own in good company. So many things can be said without a single word being said." Yes he liked silences, very much so. Oh talking was good as well, of course, and too much silence became a bore but just enough gave him time to think and to simply appreciate the company he was keeping.
Wow. It had certainly been a while since he'd just wanted to appreciate the presence of another Nequus. This boded well for the future for sure.

"Vary true, vary true indeed but...To much silence can be a bit opressive can it not? not to mention a good way to bore your guests." She stated, tho she had to smile a bit, and laugh softly. She stared back at him as he studied her. "Am i that interesting to look at?" SHe questioned softly. It was not mocking, a sneer, or even a scarcastic in the least. It was an honest question.

The white stallion grinned and bobbed his head in confirmation. "Yes, you are. I don't see many Ichsa, so that makes you interesting to start with. Add that to the fact that you're more than a little beautiful and it's a little hard not to stare at least a bit." It was; very difficult. Long slim legs, a shiny coat in that gorgeous rich brown, the white speckling on her hindquarters, her shining dark eyes… With luck Eira wouldn't mind; he knew some mares got tetchy about this sort of thing though he had no idea why.
