"Foolish when I have a crossbow bolt to my gut under a table? And I didn't want to start trouble with you around...some people stoop low enough to use hostages. You're not used to all of this and I don't want to put you in a bad position...so rather than maim him, I decided to pay him off." Shrugging lighlty and then giving a slight whistle to which she got a soft croon too and she moved to the sound, petting at the bird who bowed his head to her for said petting. A smirk. "Daddy probably would of fed him to Malvolence."

A shrug and another look in Shyrae's general direction. "Right, I'm just saying be careful. And a lot of people touch when they shouldn't...but that doesn't mean they should go unpunished. Idly she walked to the window, seemingly looking out of it. "Is there a lot of sand coming in the city?" Rarely did she ask someone else to tell her what things looked like...that took a lot of trust in a person's words.

Shyrae shot up and threw a glare at her friend. "He had a crossbow to you?!" When had she missed that? "You should have told me and I would have clobbered him over the head...or something. I don't like him even more now." Crossing her arms, she shook her head and humphed. "We'll get your gold back. He has no right whatsoever." Another nod adn roll of her eyes. "Yes Savvy, I will. Caden really didn't think we could take care of ourselves, did he?" Standing, she walked to the window as well and peered out watching the sand swirl around the city. "Enough to be more of a bother than anything else."

Flap. Flap. Flap, flapflapflapflapflapflap. Huff. Huff. Huff. Flapflapflapflapflapflapflapflap. Hufff, huff, huff. Flapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflap. Huffffff, huff, huff, huff. "I'm getting tired...is that enough wind yet?" And then one more burst. Flapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflapflap. Her wings had begun to move in time with the motion of her arm, blowing even more breeze onto the other.

"That would not of been the wisest move, but the thought of gesture is appreciated." Somewhat giving her friend a smile, which was another thing that was rarely passed out. "Caden, is that his name? I wasn't paying attention, too busy monitoring his staring at you. And no...he didn't. Though he seemed to deny or make an excuse about it more than just admit to it. Here's another thing to know Shyrae...being a woman, most are going to try and take advantage of you, and think you're not capable of much or that you're under them. You have to disprove them."

Going quiet for the moment, crossing her wrists behind herself in the small of her back. Taking in what her friend said, her ears twitching as if she was trying to hear the wind outside. "Tall strong walls...I bet it's a mess outside the city walls though. I don't need eyes to know that..."

He stopped thier motions for a moment and swivled his ears around him. "It feels much much better!" Giving a giggle and then a hug to his sister before taking the fan from her. "Your wings are going again." Clip clack click clop as he got himself up. A point to the playset. "We got sand on our buildings." Yes thier playset came complete with a sandbox around it too. Though he clip clopped away from it for a moment...sand in his shoes were uncomfortable. Plopping down he pulled a foot close, then gave a whine. "It's loose!"

Outside of the city, the winds started to ebb and fade, the tossing of sand...of course the desert lanscape had seemed to of transformed completely, dunes moved and obliterated, new ones formed. Sand was piled around the Chimera almost all the way up to her decks and well up at least half the walls and entrance of the city.

Within the city, the sand that was present, perhaps a few inches nothing much was settling, sliding off of roofs nad such to pile on the ground...the lake seemed a bit thick and gritty, but it would settle...they had learned to merely start clean up by pushing the sand into the lake and letting it settle at the bottom. Hey, filtered the water better too.

"Wise or not maybe it would have taught him a lesson." Her mother would have approved, she was sure on that. A nod and dimissive wave of her hand. "My parents taught me all I need to know and I have enough weapons to harm anyone who attempts to do things to me that I don't appreciate. Caden's staring was mostly harmless which is why I let it go. Had he reached out to touch, he would have been warned once, much the same as Hunter or Hawk or whatever his name is. Of course Chylithair would have done pretty much the same, he's a good protector." She whistled softly to the bird to see if he was still playing favorites and nodded. "The wind has died though, which is a good thing to see. Do you think that's what the dragon meant when he said all was not right?"

"They like to do that for some reason..." She nodded and glanced to the model frowning for a moment. Clicking her way to the bag, she bent down and dug inside then found a feather duster. It was a simple enough matter to brush the sand off the houses and roofs of the buildings and let it settle in the streets. She'd take care of that later. A good blow would remove it after all. Glancing at her brother she frowned, "Stop messing with them. We'll get them fixed later."

"I just feel the need to warn you..." Intharas could be hard to convince, but Savryn wasn't one to harp on things. Merely gave them once and let fate happen as it would. Though a look over at the noice Chylithair made at the whistling the drow made and then her look turned somewhat to her shoulder at the added weight there. He had joined them at the call, but perched on her. "He's been very helpful to me." A little nod then. "He may of meant...I didn't notice any wind on the way in and it's like it just picked up all of a sudden. I wouldn't classify that as normal, but we don't know the wind patterns of this place. Something we should find out." A frown. "I need to know the weather here anyway."

He leaned over, clutching his hooves and thier little copper shoes to him as best and his little awkward legs would allow. "But it hurts when Daddy fixes them...and they're all dented...I need new ones..." He'd needed new ones for a while...and it wasn't pleasant to walk around without them. Ears going floppy.

Yup, he was playing favorites alright, which was fine with her. She liked the fact that he was so loyal to her friend, one of the reasons she'd given him to her. Glancing back out the window, she reached into a pouch and pulled out a piece of jerky handing it over ot the falcon-he'd obeyed the call- then moved back to the bed, flopping down. "True enough. I'm sure we can find someone to elaborate more on that aspect as well. I would hope that not all people in this place are rude, presumptuous, and condescending like he was."

Sighing she crawled over and glanced down. "Let me see." Yeah they were in pretty bad shape. She glanced around and flapped her wings indecisively. "He said he was coming back though...do you think he'd mind if we took a quick trip?"

"There's at least one in every bunch." Turning away from the window and promptly walking back and forth the room, moving a step over each time...again another one of her mental image making techniques. Was not fun to run into things. "We need to be careful in our questions though...some may think that we're up to no good. Not to mention that Caden fellow seems so concerned with us...I don't like it." Sneering lightly and bringing Chy to her forarm, pulling him close and taking to petting at him affectionately. "We must meet these people with tact Shyrae."

He uncovered his hooves, letting her have a look. Copper was a shoddy material to use...and they were getting a bit small as well. Though her flopped his ears again shaking his head at her. "We can't leave, remember? There's bad things out there that want to hurt us." Or so they'd been told. "And there's nothing out there." As much as they knew anyway.

A smirk as he glared upon the now slightly sand buried city. Ah it felt good to have the upper hand. But he merely turned and started padding back across the sands...he had things to deliver to certain other things. Couldn't let them die after all, had to feed and water them. A lot like plants...he hated plants. So dependent.

It was slightly amusing to hear her hotheaded friend talking to her about tact. She knew how to do that well enough, she was Savvy's PR. "That's not a problem. Maybe I'll use Caden's fascination to gain the answers we need. He'll likely tell me anything as long as I shift a little to the left and the right." She settled back on the bed once again and flopped back against the pillows. "The weather aspects we can easily gain from sticking around for a while, too. Of course we won't know what's normal unless we ask but again, I can find out those answers in some shape or form."

"Daddy does. If there's nothing out there, where does he go all the time?" It irritated to know her brother was right and he was always the more level headed of the two. She plopped down and crossed her arms, making a pout, or as close to one as she could do with her snout. "Maybe if we make lots of noise, he'll come and then you can get new shoes?"

"I'd rather know before having to find out when it deicded to change around here." Nothing really freaked her out more than rain...it confused her senses terribly. "And we'll see what he knows if you want to go that route...he's young for a human. He may not know too much." Shaking her head lightly before walking over to the bed and sitting on it's edge, not a single hesitation in her step on the matter this time. "Don't worry, things will fall into place they always do. And Shy...you don't have to worry about me." Shyrae knew what she meant too.

"Daddy hates noise." Frowning some but then giving a sigh, moving over to his sister and plopping across her in lazy motion, careful of her wings. He wished he had wings, that would be neat. Though his ears swiveled at the sound of heavy steps. "I think he's back, he thumps." Watching the black clad figure with piercing green eyes walk into the delapidated place. Walking over he picked both up and carted them over to a pit, plopping them in it. He decided to be quick. "Daddy, I need new shoes..." Holding up one hoof for inspection.

Crouching down, flipping out a claw, he held the hoof and took to prying out nails till it clattered to the ground, and then repeated with the other before standing once more and then dropping a bag and two canteens in the pit with them. "That's good for now. Eat up. Have you two been playing nicely?" Moving over to the stone throne of sorts a ways off, plopping down to watch them and make sure they were doing as they were told.

"We'll work on it, now worries." She pushed herself to a lounging position and fiddled with her hair. Shyrae loved to play with hair, it was just a quirk she had. When she'd been little, she could sit for hours and braid and rebraid anyone of her family member's hair, though she loved to do her father's plopped in his lap. She made a small noise is acknowledgement and then sighed, "I know you are. I'm sorry if I made it sound too obvious..."

"Daddy hates all kinds of things." Her own ears twitched and she reached up scratching behind them for a moment before a squeak as she was picked up and plopped. She would let her brother go first with the food since his shoes had been bothering him. Not something she usually did, however. Thus using her claws, she popped the lid on one of the canteens and took a long drink, using her foot to push the bag to him.

"You didn't make it obvious. I just don't want you to be worried over me and such. I can learn a place quick. Though the sounds do help me key in more and I don't have to exert power anymore." Giving a sigh and tucking her bangs away from clouded eyes. "You think your parents have found out yet?" Feeling at the coverlet slightly...hm, she was going to have to go talk to the innkeeper, get another blanket.

"We've been good." Rubbing at his hooves...none too pleased...now he had to walk around without shoes! A sigh and and he reached over, pulling over his own cantaeen and the bag that his sister scooted his way. Opening it up, he took to pulling out contents of food stuffs...mostly dried things or things you could add water to to make better, and took to dividing it up between him and his sister. "Daddy, where do you go when you're gone?"

Days like these he swore he should of just eaten them. Then he wouldn't have to take care of them...then again, they were useful to him and he was not above using his own children for wrong doing...in thier eyes, they were doing nothing wrong anyway. "Why child, I go keep the bad things away from you." Playing nice nice, merely to keep the questions down.

"No. They won't realize it for a good day and a half at least. When I don't come home, they will assume I'm with you at your house and when mama calls Aunt Piper then they'll begin to wonder but they won't panic yet. I'm giving my father a day to keep my mother from worrying too much, since I've always come home in the past and then she'll visit all my hiding places and elicit Daddy for a full on search. When that proves fruitless, she'll go hibernate in my room and hug my pillow where she will find my note and proceed to freak out." She'd seen the process occur with her sisters and brothers before. "Anyway, I'm going to take a bath. I'll be out in a little bit." Thus she picked herself up and headed to the bathroom.

"You can't be everywhere at once though, Daddy. How come nothing has ever gotten in?" She took her pile of food and began eating it, using her fangs to tear at the pieces of dried meat. "How come we can't come too?"

Well, sounds like you have that all calculated out." Giving a chuckle and then a nod. "You relax, I'm going to go talk to the inn keep." Thus rabbing her robe and pulling it back on, pulling up her hood...she didn't feel like letting people see her weapons and such yet or her manner of dress. Low profile was good. Chylithair back on her shoulder she made her way out of the room, locking it behind her, and then back downstairs and to the bar where the inn keeper was. Vaguely she noted the sounds of windows being opened. "Excuse me...but about my room..."

"Because someone may take you from me and then you would be lost forever. I need you." Not in a loving sense but still, they could interpert as they wanted. "And I make sure the door is well secured." To the little ones, the door meant everything.

the Hawk was on the city wall, keen eyes watching the sands. there she was. and doing fine. sand up to her deck was no problem, the same shovel like devices that gave her a reverse also could dig her out of the sand.

"That's my girl."

hefting the bag of coins a bit.

"But you, my little nameless elf...you I want to know more about. and your friend. Why are you here, where did you come from...and how valuable your parents might value you."

but the bird would prove a nuisance. how could we get rid of the bird, adn get the girl. catch it for ransom maybe? no, too risky. provide her with 'work' and wait for her to come to him? guards might get him first. and she wasn't the only one of her ilk. come to think of it...that might be a better trick.

So he meandered his way through the city, to the places only people like him know. first we play a some cards with our newly gained wealth. then we pay someone to do something bad to someone else with the profit. in this case, you bribe one necromancer to kill another necromancer, and then stab him in the back while he's occupied. two for one deal. let that stir the pot a bit...oh and leave some bird feathers around. not the same as the bird she had..but the same breed. exotic pet sellers love those birds. and then eat said bird. tastes like chicken.

So that took his evening..or most of it. then back to the Inn, bloody dagger carefully wrapped up. Now which room was the one they were in.

Silly little human, thought he cheated her out of all her money. A little...tense...negotiations and a threat or two later with the inn keep and she got a refund on the room her and Shyrae had. There was no need to have two rooms...of course on his books, they would still have both booked...it was just so much easier to bully people into what you wanted sometimes. Then it had been a matter of sitting around downstairs in the tavern half and listening to the randon tidbits of information...hell wasn't like she slept. Had to do something with all of that time.

Shyrae was probably either still soaking or done and had decided to take her reverie...she wasn't used to this sort of running around. Though Savryn was a notorious hall stalker...people told things in the dark when they thought no one was around and thier doors would protect them. Eavesdropping did have it's knack. Let's see...this guy was cheating on his wife, that one was contemplating going out into the desert...some talk of various 'ruins' around in the sands. Nothing too interesting. So then back to her room, though on the way in she dropped a bone chip outside the door, and toed it into an obscure spot so it wasn't easily noticed...needed a guard dog for the door....or something in that realm. Make her chuckle.
