Richard stopped pointlessly going through his bag, turning around to face her. "Oh?" He asked, frost eyes seeming slightly surprised. "And...what is that mi'lady?"

Richard tilted his head slightly, not seeming to understand. "Yes...I remember you mentioning that race...I had made note of it." He blinked. "Wait...how do you know this?" He asked then.

Something clicked then, and Richard went still. Politics. Affecting him again. "...I see." He said simply, now recalling what she had mentioned before about this Arlen lad. "And you-" He stopped, frost eyes studying her.

Richard nodded slowly before looking at some spot in the floor, left hand running through his short, light brown/blondish hair. “Right…the young Lily I believe…” He had a sketch of her with Arlen somewhere in his manilla folder. Same time he had sketched Sir Tomo and Master Caradoc. After a few moments, Richard finally composed himself. He was trying to ignore himself so that he could help her. “Well mi’lady, it doesn’t seem like you can snag him. Or at least…not in good faith.” He said smoothly, looking at her again and offering a polite smile. “Aeaea…I have not been there before. Who is your leige?” He couldn’t provide good concil if he didn’t know what was going on. Usually marriages forged alliances. Mostly, he was trying to figure out how he could help her, what the heck to do. He needed to keep what he felt separate from this, he wanted her to be happy. Richard’s frost eyes had drifted back to the water bottle, and he gestured to it. “…Did you know you could do that?” He asked off handedly.

"Crystal?!" Richard started for her quickly, alarmed. "What's wrong?" He made it in three steps, picked up the bottle, and dropped it into the drawer of the small bedside table. He reached for her shoulder. "Crystal...what magic ails you?" Richard didn't know what to do. He could cast something, but without knowing what magic had caused the bottle to freeze, he might accidently harm her. If she had indeed done it that was.

Richard’s senses were feeling slightly overloaded, and he closed himself off to them to avoid being overwhelmed. "Hang on Crystal..." Striding quickly to the bed, he sort of crawled onto it to place his hand on her forehead, mouth already quietly forming the words to a calming spell. Richard was scared, as his quickened heart rate could tell, but he was scared for her. Hopefully, the simple spell would help clear her mind. Richard had briefly considered a charm that temporarily dispelled magic, but he had not wanted to harm her on accident, nor remove the defensive spells in place on his person. Besides, Richard might be a powerful and clever magic user, but he was human. And all humans had limits. That wall from earlier certainly hadn’t helped matters.

Richard was relieved to feel her relax, the buzzing in his head from the magic fading. He'd let her rest for a bit before asking her what had went wrong. She might not know to begin with. Richard sighed, shifting slightly so he was more comfortable, wrapping an arm around Crystal's middle and holding her gently to his chest. What a strange journey this was...he was going to have to cancel it, as he wasn't sure what was going on with her. Richard didn't mind. There were other days to return and what not. His eyes were drifting closed before he realized it. How rude of him...but maybe a short nap would be okay...just for a bit...Richard's eyes closed, and the man drifted off.
